Mulan: How You Can Watch It When It Premieres This Week

With most theaters still closed and movies delayed due to Covid-19, there is a growing list of films that have opted for digital release. The live-action adaptation of Mulan is joining that list, and it will soon be available to stream on Disney Plus starting on September 4. However, Disney Plus subscribers won’t automatically get access to Mulan at launch, and this detail along with some other fine print has added a bit of confusion around its premiere. Here’s everything you need to know to watch Disney’s Mulan, including where you can watch it and when it will be available for free. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/mulan-loyal-brave-and-true-clip"]

Where Can I Watch Mulan 2020?

Currently, the only place you can stream Mulan is on Disney Plus. However, it will also be available for purchase on select platforms such as Google Play, the Apple App Store, and Roku. Other platforms have not yet been confirmed. Regardless of where you choose to watch Mulan, the price of entry will be $29.99/£19.99/$34.99 (AUD) in addition to $6.99/£5.99/$8.99 (AUD) — or the cost of a monthly Disney Plus subscription. The Disney Plus site states that as long as you have a Disney Plus subscription, you will continue to have access to Mulan and can watch it as many times as you like. Disney Plus is supported in several regions across the world, including Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Japan (among many others). Some regions that don’t support Disney Plus, like China, will be getting a theatrical release. Here’s the list of places you can watch Mulan (links will be added once the pages are live): [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=disneys-mulan-official-photos-from-the-live-action-remake&captions=true"]

What is Premiere Access on Disney Plus?

Premiere Access is essentially a one-time payment on top of the Disney Plus subscription to get access to Mulan.

When Can I Watch Mulan For Free?

If you don’t wish to spend more money on top of a subscription, Mulan will be available to all Disney Plus subscribers starting on December 4. For those without Disney Plus, it's technically not free since you still need to have a subscription to watch it, and unfortunately, a free trial offered directly from Disney Plus is currently not available. There are money-saving alternatives to consider, like Verizon's offer that includes 1 year of Disney Plus free with an unlimited data plan or the Hulu/Disney Plus/ESPN bundle for $12.99 (both in the US). You can also get six months free of Disney Plus when signing up with O2 in the UK, but all of these options still require you to spend money. Disney Plus also supports four different devices under each account (and they can all stream at the same time), so if you have a family member or good friend who is willing to share, that's an option too. Jet Pack Man Returns: Second Sighting Reported Near LAX

UPDATE: In the second such sighting in two months, a mysterious individual has been spotted flying in a jet pack near Los Angeles International Airport. According to CBS News, the jet pack man was reported by a China Airlines crew at around 1:45 pm on Wednesday. An FAA spokesperson informed CBS that the individual was flying at an altitude of about 6,000 feet roughly seven miles northwest of LAX. Local law enforcement and the FBI are investigating ... again. David Mayman, CEO of Jetpack Aviation, informed CBS he thinks it's possible it's a drone and not an actual man in a jet pack, although he can't rule that out given developing technologies. “How is it that nobody saw them take off and land? That’s what I don’t understand,” Mayman said. “These machines are pretty noisy.” Our original report about jet pack man's first sighting in September follows. [poilib element="accentDivider"] The FBI is investigating multiple sightings from commercial airline pilots of a man flying in a jet pack near Los Angeles International Airport last Sunday night. An American Airlines pilot radioed the control tower at LAX to report that a man in a jet pack was flying off the left-hand side of their aircraft and at about the same altitude as the plane. The plane was at 3,000 feet and ten miles out from landing. “Tower, American 1997. We just passed a guy in a jet pack,” the Los Angeles Times quotes the pilot as saying. (Listen to the radio calls here.) A second pilot, with JetBlue Airways, also radioed in a report of a sighting of a man in a jet pack. [caption id="attachment_2401954" align="alignnone" width="720"]"I gotta get one of those." "I gotta get one of those."[/caption] The LA Times quoted an FBI spokesperson as saying the Bureau is looking into the reports made by the pilots. There's no word yet on whether the suspect is a Mandalorian, a Rocketeer, or just a suave British secret agent on a mission but in any event, the individual in question certainly has captured the attention of local media. (In all seriousness, though, if this guy was obstructing the path of incoming flights then he will likely be charged for endangering aircraft and those aboard them.) It should be noted that many aerospace and defense industry companies are situated in El Segundo, a community very close to LAX. Could it have been one of their R&D projects? Or maybe just someone wealthy and crazy enough to own their own jet pack. Let us know your theories on who or what this mysterious jetpack man is in the comments. AT&T No Longer Looking to Sell Warner Bros. Interactive Gaming Division

After reports stating that AT&T was looking to sell Warner Bros. Interactive, which includes studios like Rocksteady, NetherRealm, and WB Montreal, it has now removed its gaming division from the list of noncore assets up for sale. As reported by Bloomberg, AT&T has decided "it was too valuable to unload during its effort to pay down debt and streamline, according to people familiar with the situation." In June, CNBC reported that Warner Bros. Interactive had attracted interest from many companies, a list that includes Microsoft, EA, Activision, and Take-Two, and that this potential sale could have "reaped $4 billion" for AT&T. However, it now sees the "business's growth potential." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/08/23/everything-we-know-about-suicide-squad-kill-the-justice-league"] AT&T had been working with LionTree Advisors earlier in the year to explore a potential sale of this gaming division, and the decision to ultimately abandon the sale, which could always change in the future, "came amid a turnover in senior leadership at AT&T." Bloomberg notes that a few factors may have influenced this retreat, including the upcoming release of the yet-unannounced Harry Potter game and the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic has kept people at home with more opportunities to play games. Additionally, Warner Bros. Interactive works with a ton of licensed properties, which would make a sale complicated as it would "come with a set of long-term strings attached." [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-ign-batman-video-game-review&captions=true"] While there is no mention of Rocksteady's Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and WB Montreal's Gotham Knights, these recently revealed games will also most likely be two big titles for the gaming division, and AT&T as a whole. DC Hires Former Activision Blizzard CMO as General Manager

With DC and parent company Warner Media dealing with the fallout of major layoffs, a new piece of the corporate puzzle has emerged. DC has now hired former Activision Blizzard Chief Marketing Officer Daniel Cherry to fill the positions of Senior Vice President and General Manager. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cherry will begin his role on September 8 and his responsibilities include overseeing "business affairs editorial, talent services, marketing, sales, brand and direct to consumer for DC." Cherry will report directly to WarnerMedia's President of Global Brands and Experience Pamela Lifford and will work closely with Senior VP, Business Strategy, Finance and Administration, Anne DePies. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-top-25-heroes-of-dc-comics&captions=true"] The general manager position is a new addition to DC's executive leadership. DC is touting Cherry's experience in the esports realm while at Activision, a sign the company is looking to branch beyond its traditional forms of consumer outreach and target new, untapped segments of the comic book market. THR also notes this new position is designed to allow Publisher/Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee to focus on building up the wider DC brand. It's unknown whether Lee will continue under those titles or take on a new position at DC. This news comes weeks after WarnerMedia laid off hundreds of employees, eliminating the majority of workers at DC Universe and DC Direct and as much as one-third of DC Comics' editorial staff, including editor-in-chief Bob Harras. In place of Harras, Marie Javins and Michele Wells are serving as interim editors-in-chief. While the future direction of DC Comics is still unclear, we've explored a few ways the company will probably change in 2021, including fewer monthly comics and a greater emphasis on digital releases. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/08/23/the-batman-trailer-dc-fandome-official-footage"] This news comes as fans wait for the second half of the DC FanDome virtual event, which will stream on Saturday, September 12. We're expecting to learn more about Cherry's role in the company and DC's upcoming plans then. For now, check out our breakdown of all the big DC FanDome announcements so far. Fortnite Adds a Black Panther Monument in Latest Marvel Crossover

Fortnite has added a new Marvel POI, Panther's Prowl, and it is more or less an alternate dimensional rift that features a Black Panther monument in honor of the beloved Marvel hero. It's important to note that this new addition was not in response to the passing of Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman, as it was already "part of a previously-planned narrative for the new Chapter 2 - Season 4 season." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/09/01/fortnite-black-panther-statue"] "As with the rest of the world, we were greatly saddened to learn of the passing of actor, Chadwick Boseman," Epic Games said in a statement to IGN. "The Black Panther monument arrived this morning as part of a previously-planned narrative for the new Chapter 2 - Season 4 season." As you can see in the clip above, when you approach this new POI, you will be treated to ambient music that invokes the feeling of the soundtrack of Marvel's Black Panther film. For those who wish to find this new statue, it is due west of Misty Meadows, and has a glowing ring around it on the map, as well as in the game, to represent the rift that brought it to Fortnite's island. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=fortnites-black-panther-monument-on-panthers-prowl&captions=true"] This Black Panther statue is another example of this epic crossover between Fortnite and Marvel, which saw Antman's Ant Manor POI appear earlier this week.
