Yakuza: Like a Dragon Hits PS5 in March

Sega has confirmed Yakuza: Like a Dragon's PS5 release date in the west, while also slightly adjusting its release date on all other platforms. Like a Dragon is now set to launch on Xbox Series X and S, PS4, and PC on November 10. This date is a slight adjustment from the previously announced November 13 launch date, but that date came with an asterisk, as Yakuza has been planned as an Xbox Series launch game before Xbox's next-gen consoles were given a release date. Now, it will hit both Xbox's next-gen systems and current-gen hardware, as well as PC, on the same day. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/yakuza-like-a-dragon-how-will-you-rise-trailer"] The next Yakuza, however, will not hit the PS5 until March 2, 2021 in the west for $59.99. Sega did not give a reason for the delayed launch, and IGN has reached out for clarification. We'll update this story should they respond. Those who purchase Like a Dragon digitally on PS4, though, will receive a free upgrade to the PS5 version, as is the case on the Xbox One to Xbox Series X and S versions. Earlier this year, Sega detailed the English dub of the game, and among the English cast is legendary actor George Takei. If you're looking to preorder the game, be sure to check out what comes in each edition of Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Disney’s Live-Action Peter Pan Movie Has Found Its Tinker Bell

Grown-ish actress Yara Shahidi has been cast as Tinker Bell in Disney's live-action Peter Pan movie, Peter Pan and Wendy. Deadline reports that Shahidi, who is best known for playing Zoey Johnson in Black-ish and its spin-off series Grown-ish, is set to sprinkle pixie dust over herself to transform into the tinker-talented fairy from Peter Pan for the studio's latest live-action adaptation of J.M. Barrie's classic tale. Shahidi will be the first woman of colour to take on the iconic role of the character, previously assumed by Julia Roberts in 1991's Hook and Ludivine Sagnier in 2003's Peter Pan. Shahidi celebrated the casting announcement on Instagram where she posted an illustration of herself as Tinker Bell. In the caption of the post, Shahidi credited the Instagram account @alexcollectsofficial for the artwork, writing: "Thank you for all of the love. It, truly, means so much to me. I'm excited for this next adventure!" Several stars joined in with the celebration, including Halle Bailey who was cast to play Ariel in Disney's live-action version of The Little Mermaid earlier this year. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/05/29/peter-pan-exclusive-clip-from-65th-anniversary-edition"] Alexander Molony and Ever Anderson are set to take flight with Shahidi's Tinker Bell as the two titular children in Peter Pan and Wendy, while Jude Law has been tapped to play Captain Hook in the upcoming movie, which will be directed by David Lowery and produced by Jim Whitaker from a script co-written by Lowery and Toby Halbrooks. Lowery and Halbrooks previously worked together on Disney's live-action remake of Pete's Dragon, which fared well with critics and audiences upon its release in 2016. IGN's review of the movie praised the script for "taking cues from the original but reimagining the story for a very different audience living in a very different era," with a "great cast, a believable dragon and beautiful cinematography." Atelier Ryza 2 Gets Free PS5 Upgrade, Same Release Date as PS4 Version

Koei Tecmo has announced that Atelier Ryza 2 will come to next-gen.

During Koei Tecmo’s Tokyo Game Show 2020 livestream, it was revealed that Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy – the latest entry in the company’s long-running JRPG series – will get a PS5 version. Players who own the PS4 version can get a free PS5 upgrade.

[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/07/29/atelier-ryza-2-lost-legends-and-the-secret-fairy-special-movie-trailer"]

The differences of the PS5 version have yet to be revealed, but a better frame rate and improved visuals as well as shorter loading times should be likely.

During the same livestream, a story trailer that features familiar characters, such as traveling alchemist Empel, as well as a new character called Patricia was revealed. Fans also got to look at some actual gameplay, and new mechanics such as riding animals and rope-action inside the adventure-themed relics were especially well received. Atelier Ryza 2 will release on the PS5 on December 3, which is the same date as the previously announced PS4 version. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Esra Krabbe is an editor at IGN Japan. Spelunky 2’s Online Co-Op Will Not Be Available on PC at Launch

Spelunky 2 is set to be released on PC on September 29, and unfortunately it won't launch with online co-op as developer Mossmouth is working to "improve it without delaying the release." Spelunky 2 creator Derek Yu took to Twitter to say that even though that may be disappointing news for some, the "upside is that when we add it back, it will have cross-play with PS4!" Yu also discussed how PS4 recently got two big patches that "fixed a lot of issues based on your feedback (thank you!) and also improved online co-op significantly." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/09/14/spelunky-2-review"] So, even though the PC version of Spelunky 2 won't have co-op at launch, PC players won't have to wait any longer to play the game we gave a 10/10. In our review for Spelunky 2, we said it "is a masterpiece of procedurally generated platforming that stays true to the legendarily challenging original while also holding surprises around every corner." If you are preparing to play, or already attempting to master it on PS4, be sure to check out our guide on how to unlock all three shortcuts and our best tips and tricks to survive this challenging, but supremely rewarding, game. The Last of Us Day Reveals Art from Kojima Productions’ Yoji Shinkawa

As part of The Last of Us Day 2020's celebrations, Naughty Dog revealed some new gorgeous art by Kojima Productions' Yoji Shinkawa of Ellie, Abby, and Joel. This new artwork, which you can see below, is very reminiscent of Shinkawa's previous art from both the Metal Gear franchise and Death Stranding, and you can download it for free on PC or mobile to use as a wallpaper, if you so choose. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-last-of-us-day-2020-announcements&captions=true"] In addition to this artwork, Mondo revealed new The Last of Us 2 posters and vinyl with striking art from Tula Lotay. The day before The Last of Us Day 2020, Naughty Dog announced it would be changing the name of its Outbreak Day to The Last of Us Day due to COVID-19 and "the events of the last year and the challenges we all continue to face." It also teased some of the fun for The Last of Us Day 2020, including that CMON is developing a The Last of Us board game, a new free The Last of Us Part II Beach Theme would be available to all PS4 users, and new statues of Joel and Ellie would be made available. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/the-best-ps4-games-summer-2020-update"] While there wasn't much breaking news from these festivities, The Last of Us Part 2 writer/director Neil Druckman did give the vaguest of teases for the next iteration of The Last of Us' Faction multiplayer that was cut from The Last of Us Part 2, but was promised to return in some form. Thank you to all the wonderful fans for an incredible #TheLastofUsDay ! Your positivity and love is incredibly inspiring," Druckman wrote. "Oh... and about that other thing... be patient. It’ll be worth it." [poilib element="accentDivider"] Have a tip for us? Want to discuss a possible story? Please send an email to newstips@ign.com. Adam Bankhurst is a news writer for IGN.
