Fall Guys Season 2 Exclusive: New Level Knight Fever Revealed

IGN is delighted to exclusively reveal Knight Fever, a brand new level coming to Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Season 2. Designed as an episode-opening race, ideally featuring 60 players, of which 75% will qualify, Knight Fever is a long, crowded gauntlet through a selection of Season 2's new medieval-themed obstacles. You can check out a video of Knight Fever in action below: [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/05/fall-guys-season-2-exclusive-knight-fever-level-reveal"] Like other races, Knight Fever is split into distinct sections, each with different obstacles to overcome (and you can check out concept art of the full level below). In turn, those obstacles are:
  • Two uphill sections outfitted with spinning blades and holes in the floor
  • Two sets of spinning logs covered in patterns of spikes
  • A downhill slime slide, also covered in spinning blades
  • A stretch of ground with holes on the floor and swinging, spike-covered logs
  • Three sets of drawbridges that open and close erratically
  • The finish line!
[caption id="attachment_2415783" align="alignnone" width="6000"]Knight Fever full stage concept art. Knight Fever concept art.[/caption] Knight Fever's been designed as something of a "skill check" for players who've mastered Fall Guys over the last 2 months since release – don't go in feeling too confident, essentially. You'll be able to learn a lot more about Knight Fever tomorrow, as we have a full making-of the level with two of the game's designers coming up. Knight Fever is just one of a number new minigames coming in the medieval-themed Fall Guys Season 2. The update will also add medieval and fantasy-themed costumes, nameplates and titles, and be a little more generous with the crowns it doles out. Announced on PlayStation.Blog, the Legends update (v. 1.1) will also bring some improvements to single-player as well, including New Game+ with additional trophies and a Ghost Flower merchant, Armor Loadouts, a play time indicator, new options for Photo Mode and more. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/05/ghost-of-tsushima-version-11-update-trailer"] Ghost of Tsushima: Legends was revealed back in August 2020, and it is a new, online cooperative multiplayer experience that features two-player story missions and four-player survival missions, as well as a Raid that will be released "weeks following launch." It is also said to be "haunting and fantastical, with locations and enemies inspired by Japanese folk tales and mythology and an emphasis on cooperative combat and action." To access Legends, players will have to visit the PlayStation Store from their PS4 and download the free unlock for the mode, which will allow you to quickly get into the new experience. Once updated, Gyozen the Storyteller will appear in game and he is the "author and gatekeeper of the stories you'll find in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, and when you talk to him, he'll be happy to share one of his transportative stories about the 'Ghosts.'" This will take you to the Ghost of Tsushima: Legends lobby, but you can also get to this lobby from the title menu, pause menu, or from and invite from a friend. Ghost of Tsushima: Legends' Classes

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will feature four classes - Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, and Assassin - that each have their own play-style and advantages. When you begin Legends, you will choose your starting class, and the others can be unlocked through play. Each class will start with its own unique ability, and an alternate ability can be unlocked as you progress. Class-specific Charms and ranged weapons can also be unlocked. Additionally, players can choose any combination of classes to play with friends, including each player taking on the role of the same class. The Samurai "can run straight toward combat and stay there, sustaining their health while chopping enemies down left and right." They also have the Hachiman's Fury ultimate attack that will "slash through enemies in a flurry of strikes. Screenshot_2020-10-05 50409795357_3ca6b718eb_h jpg (JPEG Image, 1600 × 900 pixels)The Hunter "can stand on the edge of combat and snipe enemies before they even see you." Explosive arrows will also be available to slow down enemies, and the Eye of Uchitsune ultimate attack will "unleash multiple arrows straight at your enemies' heads." Screenshot_2020-10-05 50409641911_a755bf839b_h jpg (JPEG Image, 1600 × 900 pixels)Ronin players "can revive their entire team with the Breath of Izanami ultimate ability." Also, and perhaps most importantly, they can summon a Spirit Dog, and yes, you can PET THE GOOD PUPPERS. Screenshot_2020-10-05 50408938463_d4a9954e27_h jpg (JPEG Image, 1600 × 900 pixels)The Assassin is meant for those who love doing massive damage with a single attack. They can utilize their Shadow Strike ultimate ability that will "allow you to teleport across the battlefield and directly strike your enemies." Lastly, they can wear "terrifying masks" that will surely strike fear into all enemies. Screenshot_2020-10-05 50408939493_56494c640a_h jpg (JPEG Image, 1600 × 900 pixels)

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends Story Missions, Survival Missions, and Raid

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends' Story Missions are designed for two players and will tell the story "about what's really happening in Tsushima." As you progress, you will unlock higher difficulties, face new encounters, tougher enemies, bonus objectives, and be able to earn greater rewards. Survival Missions, on the other hand, support up to four players who must work together to fight off waves of enemies while defending different locations in Tsushima. Blessings will be able to be activated, like "ignite enemies" or "summon a Spirit Bear," and the longer you survive and the more bonus objectives you complete, the more reward can be earned. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/08/17/ghost-of-tsushima-legends-announcement-trailer"] The Raid will require "all your skill, top-tier gear, and a great 4-player team to be able to survive in Iyo's realm!" When released, the raid will be a epic, three-part adventure that will require teamwork and communication to overcome. Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will support Photo Mode as long as your teammates opt in, and this new mode is filled with new cosmetics that are unlocked through gameplay without any microtransactions. There will also be new trophies for Ghost of Tsushima: Legends that will not count towards the standard Ghost of Tsushima Platinum Trophy.

Ghost of Tsushima Single-Player Campaign Updates

As previously mentioned, New Game+ will be added with the 1.1 update, and will start players at the open world, "shortly after Jin's initial confrontation with the Khan." All Techniques, Gear, and Vanity items previously obtained will carry over, and difficulty will be increased to provide more challenge, but it can be adjusted in the menu if it proves too much. Players will also be treated to a New Game+ horse that features a "vibrant red mane and unique saddle." New Charms will also be available alongside upgrades for Jin's sword, bow, and armor. Screenshot_2020-10-05 50409797547_87d9a47fe6_h jpg (JPEG Image, 1600 × 900 pixels)The Ghost Flower merchant will appear in Ariake in New Game+ and will accept the newly added Ghost Flowers. These can be obtained by completing a Tale or activity and already have the reward, giving extra incentive to play through again. Ghost Flowers can be exchanged for Charms, new armor dyes, and other vanity gear only found in New Game+. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Have a tip for us? Want to discuss a possible story? The Witcher Season 2: First Look at Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia

Henry Cavill has revealed the first official look at The Witcher Season 2 by sharing two images of Geralt of Rivia suited up in his new armour. Cavill shared the new photos on Instagram on Monday, alongside a quote from Time of Contempt, the second novel in the Witcher Saga written by Andrzej Sapkowski. "'It may turn out,' said the white-haired man a moment later, 'that their comrades or cronies may ask what befell these evil men. Tell them the Wolf bit them. The White Wolf. And add that they should keep glancing over their shoulders. One day they'll look back and see the Wolf,'" he wrote in the caption. Henry Cavill The Witcher Henry Cavill The Witcher 2 Netflix also released the images on its NX Twitter account, offering fans a closer look at Cavill's return as Geralt. In the photos, the actor appears in an all-black studded leather outfit with large shoulder plates and extended wrist cuffs, together with some belt and buckle detailing to ensure that he's harnessed in for all of the battles and bloodshed that may lie ahead in Season 2 of The Witcher. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/15/the-witcher-season-2-will-see-all-characters-exist-on-same-timeline-ign-news"] Cavill previously spoke about his commitment to the character, as he revealed that he would sometimes roll about in the mud in order to achieve Geralt's unkempt look. He admitted that he was so devoted to the transformation that he wanted to try and get "as much of the world on him" so that he "looked like he had lived within it," so don't expect his armour to look quite as pristine when it debuts next season. Netflix announced that filming had resumed on The Witcher's highly anticipated second season in August following a five-month production shutdown as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The Witcher Season 2 is expected to premiere sometime in 2021, with Season 3 now seemingly confirmed to follow at a later date. Thunderful Group Acquires Jurassic World Aftermath Developer

Thunderful Group - which comprises Image & Form (SteamWorld, The Gunk), Zoink (Lost in Random, Fe), and a publishing arm - has acquired Coatsink, creators of Jurassic World Aftermath, Esper, and more. A press release reveals that Thunderful Group will pay £23 million (approximately $29.7 million USD) upfront, with earn-out components potentially raising the sale price to a maximum of £65.5 million ($84.8 million). [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2016/03/23/esper-2-official-trailer"] Coatsink is a UK-based developer/publisher which has specialised somewhat in VR games. It's developed Jurassic World Aftermath, Esper, and Esper 2, as well as supported development of Gang Beasts and Kingdom: Two Crowns. It's also published the likes of Cake Bash, Phogs, Get Packed, and Onward. Coatsink is currently working on 5 announced and unannounced projects. It will remain an independent studio after the acquisition. Thunderful made the acquisition in order to expand its games segment. "The guys at Coatsink are just as playful and serious as we are. When getting to know Tom, Paul and the others, it was obvious that we share the same outlook on what should define games. We both develop and publish great games. Although there's the sea between us we're like minded and have grown in the same direction over the years. I think it's fair to say that Thunderful and Coatsink are pretty similar to each other", said CEO Brjann Sigurgeirsson to IGN. Thunderful was set up in 2018, initially to bring Image & Form and Zoink into one company, and the two best friends that run each company. Payday 3 in Development on Unreal Engine

Overkill Software has confirmed that Payday 3 is currently in development on the Unreal Engine. In a celebratory tweet to mark 100 thousand followers, the Payday Twitter account revealed the news with a cheeky tweet featuring a 1337 hacker breaking into CRIMENET to find out the news. Payday 3's existence was confirmed as far back as 2016, but this new tweet adds that the game is currently in the design phase, and is being built within the Unreal Engine. The switch to Unreal is notable, given that Payday 2 was built using Overkill's own Diesel Engine – it may be that we see Payday use the impressive Unreal Engine 5. A release date for Payday 3 is yet to be announced, but this is the first news we've heard about the game in a while, which suggests that more information may be on the way soon for fans of the co-op heisting franchise. It's heartening news after Overkill's The Walking Dead flopped causing major financial trouble for publisher Starbreeze, which was the subject of reports saying that it might not survive another year in 2019. Payday 2's secret ending was unlocked in 2018, some five years after release. We reviewed the game back in 2013, scoring it an 8 and calling it a "great cooperative shooter." Overkill is still supporting the game with extra content and heists, too. The Breakfast in Tijuana case arrived just a few months ago in June 2020. Cyberpunk 2077: Night City Full Map Seemingly Leaks

The bonus content from the physical edition of Cyberpunk 2077 appears to have leaked online, revealing a detailed map of the game's setting, Night City. The leak was posted to the GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit by user ArtisticTap4, who embedded images of the physical map and postcards that may be arriving alongside the physical edition of the game. The Night City map offers a closer look at the many regions in the game that have previously been mentioned, including Pacifica, Watson, Westbrook and Santa Domingo, as well as the City Center. A few places of note include the space port in the far west of the map off the coast, as well as the Northern Oilfields up top and some kind of stadium just south of the city centre. The postcards focus on in-game locations such as Pacifica, Japantown and El Coyote Cojo, which looks to be a bar of some kind. It's not clear how these images have managed to leak out, but this seems to be our first proper look at the game's map ahead of its November 19 release date on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Cyberpunk 2077 will also arrive on Stadia in Q4 2020 and next-gen consoles in 2021. The game officially went gold today, meaning its initial release version is complete and can be played from beginning to end. In other Cyberpunk 2077 news, studio head Adam Badowski responded to reports of mandatory crunch at CD Projekt Red last week. The game's environment designer also recently explained how his team built Night City.
