Early Prime Day Electronics Deals at Amazon

[poilib element="commerceDeal" parameters="slug=early-amazon-prime-day-electronic-deals"] With the launch of the new Echo Dot and other Amazon family of devices, you can expect to see a few more deals on the older generation of stock as they continue to sell as much of that as possible while the tech doesn't seem too old. Not only that, but there is also the 'Spend $10, Get $10' promotion to consider in the build-up to the event. We've marked these particular items above to let you know, but the gist of the deal is when you buy from a smaller or independent retailer via Amazon, you'll be rewarded for helping the little guy. That means you'll be gifted a $10 credit to spend during the Prime Day sales on October 13 and 14. UK readers, click here to find out all your current early Amazon Prime Day Deals.

Best Electronics Deals to Expect on Prime Day

2020 is primed and ready to give us some good deals. We've got Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday, and then the Christmas sales. Surely, there will be some good deals to come? Well, we certainly hope so. If you want to find out more, make sure to check out what to expect from Amazon Prime Day 2020 right here on IGN. We're currently predicting that 4K TV deals are going to be one of the hottest tech items up for grabs again come October 13, with big discounts heading towards some top of the line OLED TVs. It'll be the big purchases that you see the most discounts on because $400-600 4K TVs have already been produced to be rather cheap. However, you may still see a few receive so minor discounts, so keep an eye out. Smart home devices are also expected to be big once again, just like every other year. Amazon year on year sells more and more Echo smart speakers, and linking these up with all your new smart tech is definitely the go-to thing to do during big sales. But, you can also expect more deals for other electronic items around the home, including new household tech like vacuums, microwaves, kettles, rice-cookers, insta-pots, and much more.

What is Amazon Prime Day?

Prime Day 2020 Image - 13 & 14 October 2020

Prime Day is a massive shopping event put on by the online retailer Amazon, specifically curated for the use of Amazon Prime members. Prime is a premium membership system where users can get access to a wide range of benefits, such as next day delivery, Prime Video, and even several exclusive deals throughout the year, including every single deal that pops up during Prime Day. Prime Day usually situates itself in the Summer, normally July, but with everything that's been going on in the world, it now finds itself firmly in October instead. Prime Day is set to start at 00:01 AM on October 13 and ends at 23:59 on October 14, so you've got two full days of deals to race through when it finally launches. But, we're here to help with everything Prime Day and will be covering all the new and exciting deals that we are expecting to pop up. If you're not already a member, now is the time to sign up and take full advantage of the event. A 30-day free trial won't cost you a thing, and you'll be getting access to all of the best electronic, gaming, and tech deals available during the two-day event for 2020. If you're a seasoned Amazon shopper, then the 1-year membership offers the best long-term value. The $119/yr fee is well worth the many perks of Amazon Prime.

For now, however, there is a new promotion called 'Spend £10, Get £10' where Amazon will offer a £10 credit to use on #PrimeDay to Prime members who spend £10 on items sold by select UK small businesses in Amazon’s store. You can find all of the current Amazon Support Small deals on it's dedicated landing page. There aren't any specific electronic deals popping up just yet, like the US, but you can get some great deals on subscriptions for your electronics, the most notable being 4-months of Amazon Music Unlimited for just £0.99. This is an exclusive Prime deal, but non-Prime members can also pick up 3-months for just £0.99 so it's not all bad.

Ghost of Tsushima Will Be Playable on PS5 with 60FPS via Game Boost

Sucker Punch has confirmed that Ghost of Tsushima will be playable on PS5 on day one via backward compatibility, and PS5's Game Boost will allow for the game to reach frame rates of up to 60FPS. Revealed on Twitter, Sucker Punch announced the details following PlayStation's breakdown of the top backward compatibility questions. In addition to what was mentioned above, Ghost of Tsushima will also support save transfers and even faster load times. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/05/ghost-of-tsushima-version-11-update-trailer"] The quicker load times are an interesting, if obvious note, mostly because Sucker Punch previously said that it had to lengthen some of the game's loading screens on PS4 because they were so fast and players were having a tough time reading the tips. This bit of good news for those looking to get a PS5 also arrives alongside the news that Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, a free co-op mode, will be out on October 16, 2020. Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is part of the version 1.1 update that will add a New Game+ with additional trophies and a Ghost Flower merchant, Armor Loadouts, a play time indicator, new options for Photo Mode, and more. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=ghost-of-tsushima-legends-and-version-11-new-game-screenshots&captions=true"] Oh, and perhaps most importantly, it will also let players in New Game+ use the Charm of Canine Recruitment to pet dogs and make them their allies a.k.a. their new best friends. Gal Gadot Playing Queen of Egypt in Cleopatra Movie

With Wonder Woman 1984 now, still tentatively, scheduled to be released in December, star Gal Gadot has signed on to play the lead in Cleopatra, which will once again team her with the director of both Wonder Woman films, Patty Jenkins. After some squabbling over the rights (reportedly between Apple, Universal, Warner Bros. and Netflix), the project landed at Paramount and, per Variety, will star Gadot as the legendary queen of Egypt. Gadot will follow in the steps of Oscar-winners Claudette Colbert and Elizabeth Taylor, who both once played big screen versions of the role. Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island, Alita: Battle Angel) will write the screenplay. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=wonder-woman-1984-photos&captions=true"] Meanwhile, all the delays to Wonder Woman 1984, which was supposed to release last June, have fans even more curious about the story, which features villains Maxwell Lord and Cheetah. If you're looking for more info on Maxwell Lord, played by Pedro Pascal, head here. And likewise if you need a brush up on Cheetah, played by Kristen Wiig, you can check that out here. Disney+ Reorganizes its Marvel Screen, Calls Non-MCU Films “Marvel Legacy Movies”

Almost a year after its launch Disney+ seems to have finally solved the messy interface with regard to its Marvel movies. The site's superhero movies were previously listed in scattershot fashion but it now looks like a reorganization was done and that non-MCU titles (like X-Men and Fantastic Four) are considered "Marvel Legacy Movies." The screenshot here (h/t to The Verge) shows you how things are laid out right now on a Disney+ U.S. account... Screen_Shot_2020_10_09_at_10.29.32_AM.png Not only are the MCU flicks listed by Phase now, but also chronologically (in the MCU timeline). There are also rows for Marvel Legacy Movies and Marvel Legacy Animated Shows. Fans are, understandably, pleased with the MCU reorg. User interface is something we took into consideration when reviewing all the streaming services a while back. You can check out our "State of Streaming" reviews for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and Apple TV+ here. Speaking of Marvel and streaming, Marvel TV and Hulu gave fans their first look at the upcoming streaming series M.O.D.O.K. -- Marvel's first venture into adult-oriented animated comedy -- at New York Comic Con. The series features the voices of Patton Oswalt, Lucifer's Aimee Garcia, Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Melissa Fumero, and Parks and Rec's Ben Schwartz.
