Destiny 2: Beyond Light Roadmap and Stasis Classes Revealed

Bungie has released a new ViDoc and a roadmap for Destiny 2: Beyond Light, which details what’s arriving in the first season, named Season of the Hunt. Alongside the new destination of Europa and a refreshed Cosmodrome, players can expect three Darkness classes and a whole new Stasis damage type, which Bungie has now provided more information on. Beyond Light kicks off on November 10, with Season of the Hunt lasting from November until February. On launch day you can expect the Beyond Light campaign, the Darkness/Stasis classes, the quest for Salvation’s Grip Exotic grenade launcher, the Europa destination, new version of the Cosmodrome, a new Strike, new Lost Sectors, and new seasonal weapons, armour, ranks, mods, and shaders. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/20/destiny-2-beyond-light-story-reveal-trailer"] The season mission for Season of the Hunt will kick off on November 17, while the new Deep Stone Crypt raid will begin on November 21. The first Iron Banner of the season will kick off on December 8, while The Dawning will run from December 15 to January 5. As for the Darkness subclasses, Titans will be able to become a Behemoth, Warlocks a Shadebinder, and Hunters a Revenant. As with Arc, Solar, and Void, Darkness provides a new damage type with Stasis, which freezes enemies in place, allowing them to be shattered. The subclass menus have been rearranged and now include the ability to apply Aspects and Fragments to your character. Aspects are essentially mods for your character; an example is Iceflare Bolts, which grants a small amount of grenade energy and spawns seekers that track and freeze other nearby targets when frozen enemies are shattered. You have a limited number of slots for Aspects, and better aspects require more slots. Destiny2BeyondLightRoadmapFragments are less impactful than Aspects but are class agnostic, so can be mixed and matched across builds. An example of a Fragment is Whisper of Hedrons, which provides you a bonus to weapon damage after freezing a target with stasis. Notably, this Fragment also has a ‘-10 strength’ modifier, so it seems like Fragments will require some form of trade-off. On the narrative side, Season of the Hunt will also return to the story threads laid down back in Forsaken’s Black Armory storyline, when Uldren was resurrected as a Guardian by a Ghost. Now known as The Crow, Uldren has no memory of the Prison of Elders breakout he arranged while alive, nor that he killed Cayde-6. Season of the Hunt will see your Guardian team up with Uldren and Osiris to put an end to a new corrupted army. Fall Guys: Fully Licensed Godzilla Coming as a Costume

Fall Guys will receive a fully-licensed Godzilla costume on November 3, to coincide with Godzilla Day. Only available for a limited time (no word yet on how long), the costume will cost 10 crowns in total, meaning I will never own it. Coming in an expected grey, the costume will change colour for team games. You can check out a sneak peek in a very excitable tweet below: "There are many parallels to be drawn between the mighty Godzilla and an average Fall Guy; they are both fiercely competitive, they battle on an international stage with incredibly high stakes, they always get back up after being knocked down, and according to worrying reports from our social media channels, they are both much taller than you'd expect,” said Jeff Tanton, VP of Creative, Mediatonic. “We are proud and deeply honoured to share the stage with the greatest Kaiju - and if anyone is still struggling to get a crown with this costume, though it may sound primitive and un-scientific, we recommend that through the fairies, they could perhaps ask Infant Island for help?" This costume follows the announcement of a Sonic the Hedgehog garb, and the announcement of Season 2, which brought medieval themed costumes and games. You can check out everything new in Season 2 in our Fall Guys wiki. American Gods Season 3: Neil Gaiman Announces Premiere Date

Neil Gaiman has announced that American Gods Season 3 will premiere on Starz on January 10, 2021. Gaiman revealed the premiere date in an image of the Lakeside Clunker Board from Hinzelmann's shop, which fans will recognize as a visual reference to his original bestselling book. Gaiman also penned a special letter to the fans of the show, in which he addressed the newfound relevance of the forthcoming season's plot. He said that he had wanted "the characters and their journeys" to be the focus of the story, though he didn't realise that the struggles of the gods would reflect the struggles of America. [caption id="attachment_2430436" align="alignnone" width="1080"]Image credit: Starz Image credit: Starz[/caption] Read Gaiman's letter in full below: "When we embarked upon making Season Three of American Gods, we had no idea how timely it would turn out to be. We knew we wanted to return to what people loved and responded to in the book: that it was time for Shadow to go to the little town of Lakeside and try to lose himself in normality. "And at the same time, in Season Three, we wanted to focus on the characters and their journeys. To show Shadow forging a path guided by the Gods of his ancestors, becoming more himself while deciding who he is and what side hes on — humanity’s or that of the Gods. "We knew also that we wanted to continue to root the show in the landscapes of America. To explore what 'America' means to its people and to talk about immigrants — about the very different people who came to this remarkable land and brought their gods with them. The new gods of phone and app and glitter demand our attention and our love, and the old gods want to mean something again. "America must be for all of us, and American Gods must reflect that. This season truly feels as if it does. It’s full of drama and emotion, the very real and the utterly strange, and it features some of the finest performances the show has yet seen. It brings back favorite characters, some in remarkable new ways, and we will encounter people and gods we’ve never met before. I’m proud of our brilliant cast — of Ricky and Emily, of Yetide and Ian, Bruce, Demore, Omid and all the rest — and of what the writers have done to bring the story back on track. "The struggles of the gods and the people in Season Three of American Gods are the struggles of America. We didn’t think it would prove as timely when we plotted it, nor did I think the novel would still be relevant when I wrote it over 20 years ago. But I’m glad it’s happening now, in a year when it feels as though diverse stories are being heard, and honored, and allowed to change the future." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/10/american-gods-season-3-official-trailer-nycc-2020"] Per Variety, Starz announced that the network plans to celebrate the return of American Gods next year by hosting a weekend-long marathon of the first two seasons. Season 1 will air on January 9, starting at 12 PM ET/PT, and Season 2 will air on January 10, beginning at 12:20 PM ET/PT, leading right up to the Season 3 premiere at 8 PM ET/PT. Netflix and Assassin’s Creed Aim to Make Multiple Projects Together

Netflix has announced that it will produce a live-action Assassin's Creed series, executive produced by Ubisoft's Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik, which will be the first of multiple new projects. Announced on Twitter, the collaboration got a teaser logo (below). A press release explains that the live-action series will be an "epic, genre-bending live action adaptation; a search is currently underway for a showrunner."

Netflix + Assassin's Creed pic.twitter.com/i3RI438ejV
— Netflix UK & Ireland (@NetflixUK) October 27, 2020
However, this is apparently just the first project from Ubisoft and Netflix. The collaboration will "tap into the iconic video game’s trove of dynamic stories" to create lie-action, animated and animae series. That may include the Assassin's Creed anime series we previously heard was being developed by Castlevania anime producer Adi Shankar. This deal also seems to be the fruition of Ubisoft's promise to create an Assassin's Creed TV series in 2017. “For more than 10 years, millions of fans around the world have helped shape the Assassin’s Creed brand into an iconic franchise,” said Jason Altman. “We’re thrilled to create an Assassin’s Creed series with Netflix and we look forward to developing the next saga in the Assassin’s Creed universe.” [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-ign-assassins-creed-review&captions=true"] Netflix's Peter Friedlander added, “We’re excited to partner with Ubisoft and bring to life the rich, multilayered storytelling that Assassin’s Creed is beloved fo. From its breathtaking historical worlds and massive global appeal as one of the best selling video game franchises of all time, we are committed to carefully crafting epic and thrilling entertainment based on this distinct IP and provide a deeper dive for fans and our members around the world to enjoy.” The new Assassin's Creed series join a growing slate of Ubisoft TV and movie projects, including a movie based on The Division starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain, a Beyond Good & Evil series helmed by Detective Pikachu director Rob Letterman, and a Splinter Cell animated series helmed by John Wick writer Derek Kolstad. Madden 21 and FIFA 21 to Get PS5 and Xbox Series Versions in December

Madden NFL 21 and FIFA 21 will be released as next-gen versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on December 4. The new versions of the games will, according to a press release, add "blazing fast load times, the most realistic, fluid player movement ever in EA SPORTS titles, authentic game day experiences inside stadiums and new player detail unlocked by deferred rendering and lighting." The PS5 versions will also add haptic feedback using the DualSense controller. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/07/20/madden-21-review"] It's unclear if these are the only new features in each game. Previously, EA has made clear that it won't be using Xbox's Smart Delivery upgrade scheme because Madden 21 will "include new features unavailable to the prior generation." As previously confirmed, owners of Madden 21 and FIFA 21 on PS4 or Xbox One will receive a free upgrade to the respective next-gen versions through EA's Dual Entitlement scheme. Those who own disc versions of the games will need to contact EA to get an upgrade code, but the publisher has not yet explained the process for that. Current-gen versions of both games should run as backwards compatible titles on both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S between the launch of next-gen consoles and that December release date. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/06/fifa-21-review"] In Madden 21, progress and content in Ultimate Team, The Yard and both Franchise modes wil carry over between curtrent and next gen. In FIFA 21, Ultimate Team and Volta will carry over. As previously confirmed, FIFA save data from Online Seasons, Co-Op Seasons, Career Mode and Pro Clubs won't transfer. This year hasn't been a banner year for EA's flagship sports games. We awarded Madden 21 a 6/10 review, saying "the continued neglect shown to classic Franchise mode, lack of innovation across the board, and technical issues leave this gridiron mismatch coming up short." FIFA 21 fared slightly better with a 7/10 review, calling it "a year of small improvements with much to enjoy, but little to shout about." Super Mario 3D All-Stars to Finally Add Inverted Camera Controls

The Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection will add inverted camera controls in a future update coming in November, following fan complaints. Confirmed in a tweet from the Nintendo of Europe Twitter account, we see pictures of the inverted camera options in the settings menu for Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy. Update Ver.1.1.0 will be added on November 17, and includes options to invert the camera both in third- and first-person modes separately. Inverted camera controls have been requested by fans ever since the game launched without them, so this is a welcome addition for Nintendo fans. For more on Super Mario 3D All-Stars, check out our analysis of all three ports to see how they hold up against the original games. If you're playing through Super Mario 64, here's a guide to every secret star in the castle, so you can achieve the full set.

The Super Mario 3D All-Stars Collection is available as part of a limited physical release and digitally on Nintendo Switch until March 2021, after which it will be removed from the eShop.

Resident Evil Netflix Series: New Images Show Leon and Claire

Netflix has shared new images of Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield from the upcoming CGI series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. The two new character images were unveiled in a tweet from the official Netflix NX account, which also confirmed that the animated Resident Evil series will be "set in the canon of Capcom's classic survival horror franchise." [caption id="attachment_2430311" align="alignnone" width="1920"]Image credit: Netflix Image credit: Netflix[/caption] [caption id="attachment_2430313" align="alignnone" width="1920"]Image credit: Netflix Image credit: Netflix[/caption] "When biohazards run wild, only a pair of veteran zombie slayers can get the job done," the tweet reads alongside the pair of preview images. The pictures offer fans a closer look at the Resident Evil 2 heroes who are taking the lead in the new CGI horror-action series, which is currently scheduled for a global launch exclusively on Netflix in 2021. The new series is being executive produced by Capcom's Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who has been responsible for bringing numerous titles in the Resident Evil series into existence. TMS Entertainment, which has birthed various anime series, will produce Netflix's Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, with Quebico and Kei Miyamoto, the producer of Resident Evil: Vendetta, overseeing the series' 3DCG animation. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/08/27/resident-evil-netflix-show-announced-ign-now"] In addition to Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, Netflix is also hard at work on a live-action series adaptation of the Resident Evil franchise, which will tell a brand new story across two timelines centered on sisters Jade and Billie Wesker. The eight-episode first season will be brought to life by Supernatural alum Andrew Dabb who will serve as executive producer and showrunner on the series. Outside of Netflix, Resident Evil is also getting the reboot treatment with a new origin story movie currently in development. This adaptation aims to recreate the "terrifying visceral experience" of the first two games in the franchise with a story that is led by Kaya Scodelario as Claire Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine, and Robbie Amell as Chris Redfield, amongst several others. With multiple Resident Evil projects in the pipeline, along with Resident Evil Village planning a 2021 release date, next year should be horrifyingly bright for fans of the beloved horror franchise. Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition Won’t Support Ray Tracing on Xbox Series S

While Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition will be enhanced in many ways on both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, only the Series X will support ray tracing. Announced by Capcom, both versions will still support high frame rates up to 120 fps, enhanced 3D audio, reduced loading times, the Legendary Dark Knight difficulty, Turbo Mode, and a playable Vergil. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/devil-may-cry-5-special-edition-ps5-gameplay-trailer"] Ray tracing, which is possible on the Xbox Series S, will be available for Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition on Xbox Series X as a downloadable title update, and even though it won't be supported on Series S, Capcom did leave a bit of hope for the future, stating that it is "just now scratching the surface of what they can do" and that it is "eager to continue exploring the full capabilities of Xbox Series X/S in the future." So, while Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition will be the same in most cases on the next-gen consoles, only the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5 will support 4K and ray tracing. Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition will be available at the launch of both Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, and even though PS4 and Xbox One users won't get many of these upgrades, they will still be able to play as Vergil via paid DLC.
