Controversial Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Aiming to Acquire SNK

The crown prince of Saudi Arabia - through his youth-focused MiSK charity - has purchased 33.3% of SNK, the developer behind King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, Metal Slug and more. MiSK has announced its intent to buy a total of 51% of shares, and take majority ownership. It's a move that's already causing controversy, given that the crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, has previously been directly implicated in the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, accused of sending an assassination hit squad into Canada, and is the de facto leader of a country repeatedly lambasted for multiple human rights abuses. The 33.3% of SNK shares were bought for approximately $216 million, valuing the full company at around £648 million. Announced by the MiSK organisation today, the move to acquire an SNK majority is described as a means of "empowering Saudi men and women through building economic partnerships, as part of the institution’s updated strategy to maximize the impact on youth empowerment." MiSK has previously worked with SNK on video game and animation projects, creating training programs for aspiring Saudi game developers. When asked for comment by IGN, SNK refused, aside from pointing to its stock transfer agreement. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Joe Skrebels is IGN's Executive Editor of News. The Mandalorian Has Already Removed Accidental ‘Jeans Guy’

Disney+ and Lucasfilm have officially removed the accidental "jeans guy" blooper from The Mandalorian: Season 2, Episode 4 - The Siege. ComicBook.com spotted that the blooper from last week's action-packed episode had been erased ahead of this week's new episode drop. The crew member, lovingly labelled the "jeans guy," who appeared in the background of a shot with Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), Cara Dune (Gina Carano), and The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) no longer appears in the scene. Although his appearance was shortlived, the memories will stay with us forever. Jeans guy became an overnight sensation after several eagle-eyed fans caught sight of his now-infamous blue denims in the corner of the screen at around the 18:52 mark in the episode, with a number of hilarious posts and memes being posted online in the aftermath of his background cameo. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/26/the-mandalorian-season-2-episode-4-review"] This on-set mistake is similar to the incident that occurred in Game of Thrones: Season 8, Episode 4 - The Last of the Starks when fans spotted a rogue Starbucks coffee cup in one of the shots during the episode. The coffee cup was later digitally removed from the episode for future airings, and HBO issued an appropriately funny response to the error. The Mandalorian crew member isn't the only person to have a notable cameo this season. In fact, there has been a whole cast of scum and villainy making appearances throughout the episodes. You can read about those in our slideshow below or you can find out more about this week's lore-rich episode and three other characters that could potentially make their way into the show. The Mandalorian Makes Major Baby Yoda Reveal

The Child, known to most as Baby Yoda, has been a mysterious figure for much of The Mandalorian's run, but Chapter 13 gave him a huge bit of backstory. Major spoilers for The Mandalorian Chapter 13 follow. I have spoken. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/the-mandalorian-season-2-the-latest-huge-cameo-has-a-hidden-meaning-canon-fodder"] Disney insists on calling him The Child, the Internet's called him Baby Yoda for a year, but we now know that Din Djarin's foundling is in fact called Grogu. We also learned a little about where Grogu (it's going to take a while to get used to that) was before his fall into Empire hands. After communing telepathically with the (at least) fifty year-old baby, Ahsoka Tano - who makes her first live-action appearance in Chapter 13 - explains that the child was raised, and was in training at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. He was trained by "many masters". [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/the-mandalorian-season-2-ep-2s-side-mission-means-more-than-you-think"] As the Clone Wars began and the Jedi Order fell, Grogu was taken from the temple and hidden - after which his memory becomes dark. In the time since, he's been lonely and afraid, and hidden his Force abilities to survive. The specifics of the time between Grogu's flight from Coruscant, and being found by Mando aren't made clear, at least not yet. Ahsoka also reconfirms that, whatever Grogu's species is, it's as rare as we've been led to expect - she only knows of Yoda and Grogu. It was a lore-rich episode this week, with Ahsoka also mentioning Grand Admiral Thrawn, potentially teasing that Thrawn, Ezra, and Sabine could make their way to The Mandalorian. The Mandalorian Reveals Another Huge Connection to Star Wars Lore

The Mandalorian Season 2, Episode 5 has further tied the live-action show into previous Star Wars projects, with a single line potentially teasing the appearance of three major characters from the past. Major spoilers for The Mandalorian "Chapter 13" follow. I have spoken. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-actor-and-character-in-the-mandalorian&captions=true"] Aside from introducing the legendary Ahsoka Tano into The Mandalorian's live-action universe for the first time, we also got a hint that her mission will bring us an appearance from Star Wars Rebels villain Grand Admiral Thrawn. Rosario Dawson's simple line, "Where is Grand Admiral Thrawn?" has been a question that's thrown the internet into a frenzy already. Ezra Bridger was last seen with Thrawn at the end of Star Wars Rebels as the two disappeared into hyperspace on a damaged Star Destroyer courtesy of a group of whale-like purrgil, implying that we may also see an appearance from the young Jedi hero. Unless Ahsoka already found Ezra, the fact that she’s hunting Thrawn almost certainly confirms that she’s still hunting for Ezra too. It's been seen as enough of a possibility that "Ezra" was trending on Twitter shortly after the episode was released. iZombie and Haunting of Bly Manor actor Rahul Kohli has been seen teasing the idea that he could play Ezra on Twitter – whether or not that is the case in reality, his Twitter notifications are going to be on fire today. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/03/24/ahsoka-tano-returns-the-ex-jedis-path-to-the-mandalorian"] It's also more than likely that Sabine Wren, another Mandalorian and Ezra's best friend, could also be joining The Mandalorian soon, given that she and Ahsoka set off in search of Ezra together at the end of Star Wars Rebels. We didn't just get reveals about characters from other Star Wars shows this week - Chapter 13 also revealed that Baby Yoda's name is Grogu, and gave us a hint at his backstory. And while Ahsoka refused to train Grogu in the ways of the Force given his ties to Mando, there’s a good chance that Mando and Grogu are now Ezra-bait. They’re headed to an ancient Jedi temple on Tython to hopefully send Grogu’s Force presence out into the galaxy like a beacon. According to Ahsoka, if there’s another surviving Jedi out there, they may come and seek Grogu if they feel his call.

[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2016/12/06/star-wars-rebels-ezra-and-maul-search-through-the-past"]

Sure, Luke Skywalker is always a possibility, but there’s good chance he might be too busy mopping up the last of the Empire's mess, seeking out old Jedi texts, and establishing his new Jedi Order of apprentices. Cal Kestis and Cere from Jedi Fallen Order are definitely contenders, but the inclusion of Ahsoka and Thrawn in this episode offers a fairly compelling hint that Ezra could be that Jedi. And, given his own unorthodox training from Kanan Jarrus (and brushes with the dark side courtesy of Maul) when he was already a teenager, Ezra might be a bit more willing to take a chance on an apprentice with attachment issues.

Pokémon’s 25th Anniversary Celebration Teased at Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade

Pokemon's 25th anniversary celebration was teased at the 2020 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with a new logo and a promise of an exciting 2021 for Pokemon fans around the world. The new logo, which you can see below, features Pikachu's iconic face with the number 25 on its cheeks. Pokemon's Twitter also said "Our Pokémon 25th Anniversary celebration kicks off in 2021! Stay tuned for more details." Pokemon 25 This logo is very similar to the logo for Pokemon's 20th anniversary, but without other Pokemon making up Pikachu's face. Oh, and we also had to share with you the dancing Pikachu that appeared in the parade alongside the Pikachu balloon that took flight for the 20th consecutive parade. There is a good chance we won't have to wait too long to hear what The Pokemon Company has planned for 2021, as Pokemon Red and Green were released in Japan on February 27, 1996, and it has previously celebrated milestones based on the Japanese release. In 2016, The Pokemon Company celebrated Pokemon's 20th anniversary with the announcement of Pokemon Sun and Moon (On February 26, no less), Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow on 3DS' Virtual Console, a special 3DS bundle featuring cover plates of Charizard and Blastoise, a Super Bowl commercial, and much more. With Pokemon Sword and Shield's Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra DLC released, it may be time to hear about the next big Switch Pokemon title, whether it be a new generation or something similar to Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/17/new-pokemon-snap-official-switch-trailer"] We are also waiting to hear more of New Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Unite, the Co-op strategy game that closely resembles a MOBA like League of Legends or DOTA 2. How do you hope The Pokemon Company will celebrate Pokemon's 25th anniversary? Let us know in the comments below! [poilib element="accentDivider"] Have a tip for us? Want to discuss a possible story?
