Death Stranding’s Jar Baby Can Speak Through PS4 Controller’s Speaker

People are all about the Death Stranding PS4 Pro bundle, which features a new PS4 controller that looks a lot like the jar Norman Reedus carries a baby named BB. What possessed director Hideo Kojima to remind of us imprisoned jar infants, we may never know, but it looks like Kojima is taking things a step further than we expected. According to a tweet from Kojima, the baby will also be able to make noises come out of your controller.

Abominable Becomes Third Original Film of 2019 to Debut at Number One

Abominable, from DreamWorks Animation and China's Pearl Studio, scaled to the top of box office mountain this weekend with an estimated $20.85 million domestically and $29.7 million overseas.

The PG-rated family film, about a teen girl (voiced by Agent of SHIELD's Chloe Bennet) and a Yeti embarking on an epic quest, had the best opening of the year so far for an original animated film. It's also only the third original film overall -- the other two being Good Boys and Us -- to debut at number one this year.

With a $75 million dollar price tag though, the film will most likely have to rely on China's box office numbers to push it up over the top. The film will release there on Tuesday.

Netflix’s Daybreak is an Apocalyptic Ferris Bueller, But Even Weirder

This September, IGN is highlighting the best TV airing in the 2019-2020 season. Today, we're featuring Netflix's apocalyptic comedy Daybreak, starring Colin Ford, Sophie Simnett, Austin Crute, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Cody Kearsley, Matthew Broderick, and Krysta Rodriguez. Here's how the streamer describes the show: "High school isn’t the end of the world… until it is. In this post-apocalyptic, genre-bending series, the city of Glendale, California is populated by marauding gangs of jocks, gamers, the 4-H Club, and other fearsome tribes who are kicking ass as they fight to survive in the wake of a nuclear blast. Following an eclectic group of survivors as they navigate this strange and treacherous world, Daybreak is part samurai saga, part endearing coming-of-age story, and part Battle Royale." We spoke to co-creator and showrunner Aron Eli Coleite about this deranged twist on a familiar genre, loosely based on the comic by Brian Ralph.
