Get a First Look at Netflix’s Lost in Space Reboot
Netflix's reboot of Lost in Space will launch on April 13 on Earth, the streaming network has announced -- although in a typically Netflix twist, the company has apparently already made the series premiere available in space. According to a press release, Netflix gave NASA early access to the pilot episode, which was "transmitted 12 days ago to the International Space Station for astronauts to view during their leisure time."
Us earthbound viewers will have to wait a little longer, but Netflix did soften the blow with eight first look photos from the new show, which stars Black Sails alum Toby Stephens as patriarch John Robinson, Deadwood favorite Molly Parker as his wife Maureen, Taylor Russell as eldest daughter Judy, Mina Sundwall as middle child Penny, and Max Jenkins as Will (as in "Danger!").
Monkey Island Co-Creator to Receive BAFTA’s Highest Accolade
Tim Schafer will receive the BAFTA Fellowship in April.
The Fellowship is the highest accolade from BAFTA and recognises "an outstanding and exceptional contribution to film, games or television," by an individual. Previous recipients from the industry include Shigeru Miyamoto, John Carmack, Gabe Newell, and Peter Molyneux.
“I am surprised, humbled, and honored to be receiving the BAFTA Fellowship this year," said Schafer. "BAFTA's long-standing support of video games and championing of creativity and strong storytelling in that medium, have had an extremely positive impact and I'm very grateful to be recognized by them with this Fellowship.”
Schafer is best known for his work at LucasArts, where he worked on the Monkey Island series with Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman. Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango were among his other contributions to the studio's impressive lineup.
6 Things We Learned on the Set of Duncan Jones’ Mute
Before Warcraft, before Source Code, before Moon, director Duncan Jones was working on a script for a film called Mute. Jones has had his story of a near-future Berlin, and the troubles of a voiceless, Amish bartender in his head for 15 years - and it’s finally coming out.
I was lucky enough to visit the movie’s chilly Berlin set, and talk to the director himself - here’s what I learned along the way.

EA Mistakenly Lists Burnout Paradise Remastered With Microtransactions
Players were, to put it politely, confused by a store listing for the newly-announced Burnout Paradise Remastered that included a mention of microtransactions - but EA's now clarified that it was an error.
EA's Ben Walke took to Twitter to clarify that this was a mistake, not an added feature:
Just a heads up, but the store listing for #BurnoutParadise that mentions "In-game purchases optional" is an error. There is no MTX or any additional paid for content. Pitch forks down please. pic.twitter.com/hPX8gLKiAG

King directed both of the recent Paddington movies, and has replaced Bond movie director Sam Mendes, who left the project last year, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

James Bond 25 Eyes Director Danny Boyle
MGM and Eon reportedly want Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle to helm the next James Bond film.
Variety reports the filmmaker is high on MGM's list but also claims a formal offer hasn't been made yet. Boyle is reportedly interested in taking on the project and has always wanted to direct a Bond movie.
MGM and Eon have wanted Boyle to helm a Bond film since 2012's Skyfall, according to Variety. Boyle ended up directing the 2012 Olympics opening instead, which featured Daniel Craig's 007. Yann Demange (White Boy Rick, '71) was previously tipped as a top choice for directing but with Annapurna now distributing Bond 25 in the US MGM and Eon are reportedly pushing for a bigger name.
