PlayStation Plus Games for May 2018 Unveiled
Sony has unveiled the PlayStation Plus free games lineup for May 2018:
- Beyond: Two Souls (PS4)
- Rayman Legends (PS4)
- Risen 3: Titan Lords (PS3)
- Eat Them! (PS3)
- King Oddball (PS Vita, Cross-Buy with PS3 and PS4)
- Furmins (PS Vita)
Quantic Dreams' Beyond: Two Souls first released in 2013. In our initial review, we say Beyond "is an ambitious opus, let down by lack of meaningful player choice and an unfocused plot." Meanwhile, we gave 2013's Rayman Legends a 9.5, calling it a "delightful platformer" bursting with fresh ideas.
More Jurassic World Actors Join the Cast of Jurassic World: Evolution
Jurassic World: Evolution continues to cast some well-known stars from the franchise.
Developer Frontier has announced Bryce Dallas Howard and BD Wong will reprise their roles as Claire Dearing and Dr. Henry Wu respectively, in the upcoming park building sim. However, it's not known how heavily they'll feature.
Howard first appeared in 2015's Jurassic World as the park's operations manager, Claire Dearing, and the character is returning in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Meanwhile, BD Wong first portrayed Dr. Henry Wu in the original 1993 Jurassic Park and then in Jurassic World.
Howard and Wong will join Jeff Goldblum, who's already been confirmed to appear in the game as Dr. Ian Malcolm. Malcolm acts as an adviser for the park you build in-game.
Ex-Valiant Hearts Dev Announces New Game
11-11: Memories Retold is a new narrative adventure game from Valiant Hearts creative director Yoan Fanise and his team at DigixArt.
Focusing on World War I, the game is being made in partnership with Bandai Namco and Aardman Animation Studios, which is behind movies like Early Man and Shaun the Sheep.
"It's a part of history that touches me personally, as my great-grandfather fought in the trenches, he lost a leg and his brother there," Fanise said. "This is only one family story among so many others sadly."
Will Future Marvel Movies Still Draw From Existing Comics Stories?
The Marvel Cinematic Universe frequently uses existing Marvel comic books as its source material - but will it continue to do so as the universe expands?
IGN caught up with Marvel Studios boss, Kevin Feige, to find out if he and his studio would continue to tap the comics for epic stories like Civil War and Infinity War.
Aquaman Footage Was Shown at CinemaCon
The first footage from Warner Bros.' Aquaman film was debuted at CinemaCon in LA yesterday - but it was very much a work-in-progress.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the footage showed Aquaman "pulling a submarine out of the water, what appeared to be shark horses and vistas of Atlantean skyscrapers." Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's Black Manta and Patrick Wilson's Ocean Master also made an appearance.
THR reports that director James Wan made it clear that the footage was not an official teaser trailer. "I didn't want to bring anything, but they made me," he joked.
Every New Comic in Free Comic Book Day 2018
The first weekend of May means two things - there's a new Marvel movie in theaters (in this case, Avengers: Infinity War) and another Free Comic Book Day has arrived. If you enjoy reading comic books and not having to pay for things, it's pretty much a perfect storm of awesome.
As usual, publishers are going all-out to celebrate this year's FCBD on May 5. Fans can look forward to new tales featuring heroes like Captain America, Spider-Man, Batman, Doctor Who and the Power Rangers. Check out our slideshow below spotlighting all of the books included in this year's FCBD promotion, along with their creative teams and official descriptions. Note that we're also including DC Nation #0, even though it's actually being released on May 2 and carries a cover price of 25 cents in print form.
Hank Azaria Responds to The Simpsons’ Apu Controversy
Hank Azaria, long-time Simpson's cast member and voice of Apu, has responded to the controversy surrounding the character, saying his "eyes have been opened."
Azaria appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and said that "the most important thing is that we have to listen to South Asian people, Indian people, in this country, when they talk about what they feel and how they think about this character, and what their American experience of it has been."

Jason Momoa Tells CinemaCon the Best Batman Isn’t Ben Affleck
Jason Momoa was at CinemaCon this week, and the Justice League star broke Ben Affleck's heart when he told Will Arnett that he is the best Batman.
Warner Bros. debuted footage from James Wan's upcoming Aquaman film, and Will Arnett was the emcee at the event. Momoa was in attendance with Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. "You are the best f**king Batman," Momoa told Arnett, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Arnett portrayed the caped crusader in the LEGO Batman movie last year. In our review, we said his "gravelly tones and deadpan delivery are perfect for this reclusive, grumpy incarnation of the character," with Arnett giving us a Batman that is "vulnerable and still likeable."
Venom Has Everyone Debating the Pronunciation of “Symbiote”
Sym-BYE-ote, or sym-BEE-ote? That seems to be the big question coming out of the first full Venom trailer. Instead of debating about the likelihood of Carnage ending up in the movie or Venom's potential connection to Spider-Man, it's Jenny Slate's character who has been sparking the most discussion because of her pronunciation of "symbiote" -- well, at least after people finished talking about that Venom reveal.
In the trailer, Slate repeatedly pronounces the word as "sym-BYE-ote" instead of "sym-BEE-ote," which has driven such a spike in proper pronunciation search traffic that Merriam-Webster officially responded to the debate.
