Lucasfilm Congratulates Marvel on Avengers Breaking Star Wars’ Record

Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy has congratulated Marvel on Avengers: Infinity War surpassing Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ opening-weekend US box office record.

In an image sent from the Star Wars official Twitter and Facebook accounts, a lightsaber is symbolically handed to Iron Man, with the accompanying text "from a Galaxy far, far away...to Earth's Mightiest Heroes. CONGRATULATIONS on the biggest opening weekend in history! From Kathy and everyone at Lucasfilm"

Mel Gibson’s Next Directing Effort Revealed, Courted for Role in Six Billion Dollar Man

Mel Gibson is preparing his next projects both behind and in front of the camera.

Gibson's next directorial feature will be Destroyer, which tells the real-life story of the USS Laffey, which defended itself against 22 kamikaze attacks during World War II. The film is based on the nonfiction book by John Wukovits, Hell From the Heavens: The Epic Story of the USS Laffey and World War II’s Greatest Kamikaze Attack. The screenplay was written by Rosalind Ross, Gibson's girlfriend.

Gibson's last directing effort, Hacksaw Ridge, also told a story about WWII. Gibson received an Oscar nomination for best director for the film.

Infinity War Writers Address Ant-Man’s Status

SPOILERS for Avengers: Infinity War continue below, so read on at your own risk.

As it turns out, Ant-Man was nowhere to be found in Avengers: Infinity War. And while the second trailer for the sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp, which drops Tuesday, promises to answer the question of where he was during the events of Infinity War, it turns out tone was the big reason why the tiny hero wasn't in the Marvel epic.

Infinity War screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely cited that as the key factor when asked by The Hollywood Reporter about Ant-Man's whereabouts during the story.

The Killer: Lupita Nyong’o to Star in Gender-Swapped Remake

Black Panther's Lupita Nyong'o is reportedly set to star in the remake to John Woo's The Killer.

Per THR, Nyong'o is in talks with Universal for the lead role in what would be a gender-swapped remake. Woo will helm the project and produce alongside Mark Gordon (Source Code) and Matt Jackson. Luc Etienne is executive producing. A release date has not been set yet.

The remake follows an assassin (Nyong'o's potential role) who is sworn to protect a young woman she accidentally blinded years prior during a mob hit. The original film came out in 1989 and stars Chow Yun-Fat as the assassin Ah Jong. The landmark action thriller helped introduce Woo to Western audiences.

God of War Includes Infinity Gauntlet Easter Egg

God of War hides an incredible Avengers: Infinity War-themed Easter Egg, letting Kratos use his own Norse Infinity Gauntlet similarly to Thanos.

The secret was published on the God of War Reddit by user Moxxxxxi who put the pieces together. Players can find a talisman called the "Shattered Gauntlet of Ages" during the "Family Business" quest given by Sindri. The description heralds an untapped power hidden within the gauntlet.

"An ancient relic of Hel deemed too powerful to remain whole, fragments of its former strength lie scattered throughout the realms," reads the description for the talisman.
