Miitomo Shuts Down Today
Nintendo has officially shut down Miitomo today.
The company announced its plans to close its first smartphone app earlier this year. While Nintendo hasn't given a specific reason for the shutdown, it could be due to a drop-off of users. When Miitomo launched in 2016, over 10 million users signed up for the app in the first month.
However, Nintendo still plans on expanding its mobile presence. The company's new president, Shuntaro Furukawa, recently said he's interested in developing more smartphone games and wants to grow Nintendo's mobile games output into a 100 billion yen ($910 million USD) business.

The Next Generation is Finally Coming to Star Trek: Bridge Crew
Nearly a year after launch, Star Trek: Bridge Crew is finally getting what Ubisoft tells me is its most requested feature by far: The Next Generation-themed content. But on top of the androids, Borg cubes, and swanky wood-paneled interior, the DLC will also bring a new player role that’s essentially like playing FTL on the Enterprise-D.
While using this iconic new ship, the usual Engineer role gets swapped out for Operations. You still have similar responsibilities to the Engineer - charging warp coils and allocating power - but Operations is also given a side-view map of the Enterprise and a hand full of generic crew to move around it. Moving them to certain systems will provide different bonuses to your ship, and is basically a little mini-game in itself.
Dead by Daylight Dev’s Next Game Puts an FPS Twist on Asymmetrical PvP
Deathgarden, the newest game from Dead by Daylight developer Behavior Digital, is a different take on asymmetrical PvP. This near-future bloodsport has one person playing what seems like a more traditional FPS, but the other five are teamed up against them in a third-person game of capture point keepaway.
I got my hands on Deathgarden’s closed alpha, and it’s already deep, fast, and shaping up to be a whole lot of fun. It’s a simple premise: a team of five Runners have to sprint and climb around a randomized map, coordinating to capture two of the three available capture points. Meanwhile, a lone Hunter is trying to track them down and blast them to smithereens. The Runners have a bow for marking items and special abilities to impede the Hunter, but they can’t actual hurt them. The Hunter, however, has a lethal arsenal of assault rifles, shotguns, and more.
Jurassic World Evolution: Revealing Isla Tacano – IGN First
Jurassic World Evolution sticks you in charge of the Islands known as Las Cinco Muertes, which is more cheerfully known as The Five Deaths. Why anybody would decide to start a resort full of spiky teethed monsters on something called the FIVE DEATHS is beyond me but do you know what? I’m glad they did.
You can take a look at Isla Tacano in the video up above. The island is apparently a tropical paradise where the weather is generally nice BUT can be hit by the occasional be hit by severe storms and sometimes twisters. What could possibly go wrong with that?!
If you liked that then have a look at another Island of the Five Deaths, 20 minutes of gameplay on Island Matanceros which roughly translates as the Island of Slaughter...
Thanos Nerfed in Fortnite’s Infinity Gauntlet Mode
Epic Games has already nerfed Thanos in Fortnite's Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time mode.
The new mode went live yesterday in a Fortnite / Avengers: Infinity War crossover. Players who find the gauntlet transform into Thanos and get all kinds of buffs, but Epic Games has already had to make the Mad Titan a little weaker.
Epic announced the news in an update on Reddit. Thanos' shield cap has been decreased from 300 to 200, laser damage vs. players has been decreased from 15 to 12, and his max health has been increased from 700 to 800.
Deadpool Demands Your Silence on Spoilers for Sequel
The Merc with a Mouth is demanding fans to not spoil Deadpool 2.
Ryan Reynolds shared a hilarious letter on Instagram asking for your silence on spoilers. The post is openly making fun of Infinity War's anti-spoiler campaign, where directors Joe and Anthony Russo shared their own letter asking fans to not spoil the latest Avengers movie.
Reynolds' message begins with "To the greatest fans in the whole universe," topping the intro to the Russo brothers' note, which starts with "To the greatest fans in the world." The letter goes on to say: "Only a handful of people know the film's true plot. One of them is not Ryan Reynolds." See the full letter below:
Walmart Lists Just Cause 4, Gears of War 5, Rage 2 and More
Just Cause 4, Gears of War 5 and a new Splinter Cell are among a group of unannounced games that a major retailer has listed online.
It's important to note these could just serve as placeholders instead of outing possible E3 2018 surprises. But Walmart Canada (spotted by Wario64) has posted pages for Rage 2, LEGO DC Villains and Borderlands 3 as well.
Disney Teases ‘New Franchise Beyond Avengers’
Disney has teased a new Marvel movie franchise following next year's Avengers 4.
Per THR, Disney CEO Bob Iger discussed the future of the MCU during an earnings call, teasing there could be a brand new Marvel superhero team that's not the Avengers. "We meet on a regular basis with our Marvel team, and we've plotted out Marvel movies that will take us well into the next decade," Iger said.
"I'm guessing we will try our hand at what I'll call a new franchise beyond Avengers, but that doesn't necessarily mean you won't see more Avengers down the road," he added. "We just haven't made any announcements about that."
