Fortnite Found to Influence Children’s Language

The Oxford University Press reports that Epic Games' Fortnite is influencing the language of children aged 5 - 13.

Along with slime and unicorns, Fortnite was found to be a subject that influenced the language in the submissions of over 130,000 stories submitted to the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show's 500 Words contest, according to the Oxford University Press' analysis, reports BBC News.

Gaming terms were more prevalent this year, with 'console' and 'noob' popping up, while 'game' was mentioned 30,000 times, up 66% from last year's 17,000 mentions. They were most prominently used by boys between the ages of five and nine.

14 Things You Need to Know About Mortal Engines

This time last year, I traveled to Wellington, New Zealand to check out the set of Universal's Mortal Engines, the first adaptation of Philip Reeve's YA book quartet. Mortal Engines is the directorial debut of longtime Peter Jackson-collaborator Christian Rivers, who is supported on all sides by the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit powerhouse trio Jackson, Philippa Boyens, and Fran Walsh.

Across two days and seven soundstages, I saw the interiors and exteriors of London, now a traction city, meaning it travels around Mortal Engine's post-post-apocalyptic world on wheels, devouring other cities for resources. In the slideshow below, you can discover the most interesting things I learned while on set.

Bumblebee Trailer: Every Transformers Easter Egg and Reference We Caught

The first trailer for the new Transformers spin-off Bumblebee has arrived, and we're here to break down all the secrets, Easter Eggs and references we found in it.

Bumblebee is set in 1987, and from this first trailer, it’s clear the movie has a different tone than the Michael Bay Transformer movies that have come before it. Incidentally, 1987 is the year the original run Transformers cartoon came to an end. Perhaps that’s just a coincidence, but if intentional, it's a nice little touch!

Watch the full video above for everything we uncovered, or check out the slideshow below.

That’s our first look at the new Transformers movie, Bumblebee. Refreshingly there was barely an explosion in sight, with the new movie looking more like a mix of E.T. meets The Iron Giant. If that proves true, we look forward to crying our eyes out when the movie comes out in December. Great...

New Diablo Game in the Works

No official announcement has been made, but a new Diablo project appears to be in the works

A recently posted job listing for a dungeon artist at Blizzard has confirmed a new Diablo project is currently being worked on at the studio.

Whether that new project is for a proper Diablo IV or a new type of game from the franchise remains to be seen, as few details are provided as part of the job listing.

Blizzard, however, does hint it won't lose what makes Diablo so popular as they are looking for people who are "passionate about working on the dark gothic world of Diablo, making great games, killing millions of monsters and getting loot!"
