10 Best Spider-Gwen Graphic Novels

In another reality, it was Gwen Stacy, not Peter Parker, who became a spider-powered superhero. Referred to as “Spider-Gwen,” this character first appeared as a supporting player in the Spider-Verse event that saw numerous spider-characters teaming up from across the Marvel multiverse to battle the evil Inheritors, but so popular was this Spider-Woman that she went on to star in her own comic series and play a larger role across the Marvel landscape.

With Spider-Gwen having already made her way to video games and television, the last box to check is the big screen, which will happen when she appears in December’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, a loose adaptation of the same comic where she first appeared that stars Spider-Man Miles Morales. While you’re waiting for that film to hit, check out these essential Spider-Gwen reads.

Gamescom 2018 Welcomes Spain as Partner Country

Spain is the official partner country of this year's Gamescom, to be held from the 21 to 25 August 2018 in Cologne, Germany.

Spain is the fourth largest gaming market in Europe (after Germany, the UK and France), and will join as a partner for the first time in Gamescom's history. Spain will enjoy 100 square metres of real estate at Gamescom, and this year both the media and the public will be able to experience the Spanish gaming scene at the show through game demos, talks, workshops, and a 'Games from Spain' guide.

"With Spain we were this year not only able to recruit a partner country for Gamescom that is one of the largest markets in Europe, but also a country with a lively and creative developer scene and games culture," says Felix Falk, managing director of game, the sponsor of Gamescom. "Like everywhere in Europe, and fortunately also in Germany, the Spanish government is currently committed to increased support for the local games industry. Here too, Spain and Gamescom suit one another especially well this year".

Sony’s Stubborn Stance on Cross-Play Is Embarrassing

From the battle royale craze to the push for streamed games, 2018 has already seen its fair share of gaming trends. But one of the most frustratingly consistent stories is Sony’s self-destructive unwillingness to allow games on PS4 to cross-play with other consoles.

This is by no means a new policy of theirs -- they’ve been doing it for years. But with a larger variety of places to play games than ever, this stance is becoming more noticeable and more disruptive. Games like Fortnite, Rocket League, and Minecraft (alongside the runaway success of the Switch) are pushing the issue into the limelight, and Sony is doing little to respond.

Sophie Turner Drops a Hint About Sansa’s Fate in Game of Thrones Season 8

Sophie Turner, the actress that portrays Sansa in HBO's Game of Thrones, has hinted that her character will develop a more action-oriented role in the show's final season.

In a video interview with Gold Derby, Turner suggested that she has always seen Sansa as a warrior and that Season 8 shows this properly manifesting itself.

“I always saw something of a warrior in Sansa that I don’t think other people really saw,” Turner said. “I always had the feeling that she was learning and adapting, and at some point or another, it was going to manifest itself somehow, and she manifested it into being a warrior. It felt really satisfying when it happened, and I’m really happy where this storyline for her has ended up.”

Avengers: Endgame’s Rotten Tomatoes Score Revealed

To quote Doctor Strange, we are in the endgame now. Ever since Iron Man hit theaters back in 2008, Marvel Studios has had an impressive 11-year run when it comes to positive reviews from critics, which contributes to a movie's overall aggregate score at Rotten Tomatoes. Marvel's newest big-budget adventure, Avengers: Endgame, is slaying with a certified "fresh" Tomatometer score of 97%.

Endgame's 97% "fresh" score ties it with Black Panther as Rotten Tomatoes' highest-scored/best-reviewed MCU movie.

You can check out our Avengers: Endgame review right here, where we say it "is easily the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most ambitious, emotional, and affecting film to date, somehow managing to tie up more than a decade of storytelling in a confident (and mostly coherent) climax - a hurdle that many other blockbuster franchises have stumbled over in their final runs."
