Anime Studio Trigger Launches a Patreon
The animation studio behind Kill la Kill and Little Witch Academia, Studio Trigger, has started a Patreon.
The idea of Trigger launching a Patreon first popped up last year, but members from Trigger revealed at their 2018 Anime Expo panel that they were making the Patreon a reality. During the panel, they stated that this Patreon is meant to support the studio and its animators. The Trigger Patreon page reveals more:
"We’re a studio that strives for a global audience and values communications with our fans. If you've been in a creative business, I bet we can all relate that a simple feedback is all it takes to make our day great. However, there’s no denying at times we wished we had an extra buck or two. There’s been one too many incidents where we had to give up a merchandise idea because it was unprofitable, or simply due to lack of funding. That’s where you and Patreon comes in! With your support, we would like to forward funds into various aspect of the studio. Possibly a new line of merchandise, attending/conducting more events, or simply providing a little more to our staff."
Explaining the 12 Monkeys Finale’s Biggest Twist
This interview contains spoilers for series finale of Syfy's 12 Monkeys.
Syfy’s 12 Monkeys has finished its loop. The finale saw Team Splinter gather its forces -- including a few familiar (and recently dead) faces -- to stop The Witness and Titan from destroying time.
And, spoiler alert, they did. The Witness was killed, our heroes re-wrote the timeline, and surprisingly, everyone got a happy ending. But just because all of time and reality was saved, doesn’t mean there aren’t still questions to be answered.
Spider-Man and Doctor Strange Co-Creator Steve Ditko Dies
Legendary comics artist and Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko has died at age 90.
THR reports Ditko was found dead in his apartment on June 29. No cause of death has been announced, but it is believed Ditko passed away two days earlier.
Ditko, along with Stan Lee, came up with the idea for Spider-Man in 1961 after Lee wasn't satisfied with Jack Kirby's take on a teenage superhero with spider powers.
Ditko is credited with creating Spider-Man's costume, its red and blue design, and the web shooters. He also helped create a variety of classic Spidey villains, such as Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Sandman, and the Lizard.
