5 Switch Games That Could Launch With Nintendo Switch Online
Nintendo will launch its first paid online service, Nintendo Switch Online, to over 20 million Switch users all across the world this September. With it comes the ability to upload save data to the cloud, play classic NES games online, and voice chat through the use of a smart-device application — all for the price of $19.99 per year. But there's still one big brown Goomba in the room that needs to be addressed: where are all the must-have games launching alongside Nintendo Switch Online?
With Super Smash Bros. Ultimate releasing several months later in December, there's a clear gap in multiplayer based games during Nintendo Switch Online's autumn launch window. So where does this leave us? Could Nintendo have any big unannounced multiplayer Switch games that could potentially justify the price of their new paid online service? At its most recent shareholder's meeting, former President Tatsumi Kimishima revealed that Nintendo had unannounced "products" in the pipeline that the company plans to release before the end of this year's holiday season. Our best guess is that at least a few of them will cater to the new features introduced by Nintendo Switch Online. So, with that being said, here are five big games that we think Nintendo could release alongside Nintendo Switch Online.
The Umbrella Academy Returns With Hotel Oblivion
Dark Horse's Umbrella Academy is back with a third series this October.
The Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion reunites series creator Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance) with artist Gabriel Bá (Neil Gaiman's How to Talk to Girls at Parties) for the third series of the Harvey, Eisner, and YALSA award-winning comic, that sees the characters scattered after the death of Sir Reginald Hargreeves. The official description reads:
"Five is a hired gun, Kraken is stalking big game, Rumor is dealing with the wreckage of her marriage, a rotund Spaceboy runs around the streets of Tokyo, Vanya continues her physical therapy after being shot in the head—and no one wants to even mention Seance until issue #2."
Joker: Joaquin Phoenix Closes Deal to Star in Standalone Movie
Joaquin Phoenix has finalised a deal for the starring role in the previously revealed Joker origin movie.
As reported by THR, Warner Bros. has reportedly signed on Joaquin Phoenix to star as the The Clown Prince of Crime in its low budget Joker origin film, which reportedly starts production in September.
Details of the film originally surfaced last year when IGN's sources confirmed the movie was in the early stages of development at Warner and DC, with The Hangover's Todd Phillips still attached to write and direct. Eminem's 8 Mile writer, Scott Silver, is co-writing the script.
Fancy to Frugal, These are the Best Gaming Headsets You Can Buy
Graphics are a big deal for gaming, but while everything might look great on your 4K TV or gaming monitor, having subpar audio with that gorgeous picture sucks. That's why every gamer should have one of the best gaming headsets for sound quality that'll blow their minds. Plus, Your teammates will praise you for actually having a halfway decent microphone too.
Like gaming mice and gaming keyboards, there is an innumerable amount of options to choose from. How could we possibly have chosen the best ones? By reviewing and conducting hands-on (or is it ears-on?) testing of pretty much every gaming headset available—that's how. We've tried everything from sub-$50 budget gaming headsets to $400 kits and everything in between. Throughout our testing, we've spent countless hours gaming, listened to all kinds of music, recorded plenty of Skype calls to examine microphone quality and even worn them at local coffee shops to see if other patrons would laugh at us or not.
