No, That Fortnite TV Show Tease Isn’t Real
A Disney XD parody account tweeted the fake announcement of a Fortnite TV show leading many to believe a show is in the works, but don't get too excited -- the announcement isn't real.
Even though the tweet was simple, it was enough to have it shared a few thousand times on Twitter. The fake announcement stated the show would premiere on August 12, 2019 and teased upcoming sneak peeks throughout the week.
The parody account goes by the Twitter handle @DisnayXD and even uses a globe icon at the end of the username to trick careless users into thinking it's a verified account.
The tweet gained enough attention to get addressed by an employee of Epic. Nick Chester tweeted condemning the tweet and anyone reporting it as fact, squashing any question that a TV show is being made.
The Culling 2 Is Shutting Down After Just 8 Days, Offering Refunds
Developer Xaviant is shutting down The Culling 2, hoping to give refunds to those who bought it. Xaviant is rebooting the original game as free-to-play as a result.
In a video on Xaviant's official YouTube channel, director of operations Josh Van Veld issued an apology to fans of The Culling for the botched launch of The Culling 2 last week. The decision to pull the plug on The Culling 2 resulted from complaints over abandoning the original game, its decreased emphasis on melee combat, low server populations, and a generally poor reception.
"It's been difficult for us to wrap our heads around the entire situation," said Van Veld. "The Culling 2 was not a game that you asked for and it's not the game you expect as a worthy successor to The Culling."

Super Smash Bros. creator, Masahiro Sakurai, has spoken out about the reveal of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
In his column in Famitsu, translated via Siliconera, Sakurai said that he's "really glad" that the roster didn't leak ahead of the reveal because the game "wouldn’t have gotten the same reception," adding that the he has the feeling that announcing that all characters are playable "may have been a Pandora’s Box that could ruin possibilities for what’s next in the series.”

Remedy: Alan Wake and Quantum Break Can’t Get Sequels Without Microsoft Approval
Alan Wake fans have been waiting a long time for a proper sequel, but they may never get one, and that goes double for Quantum Break fans. The reason, according to developer Remedy Entertainment, is Microsoft doesn't want to make them.
"Considering our history... Alan Wake was really interesting but it was a collaboration with Microsoft. Due to certain reasons, it never got a sequel," Remedy CEO Tero Virtala told GamesIndustry.biz. "Quantum Break, also, we put a lot of effort into creating the world, the characters, the stories, but still it was Microsoft IP. They decided not to take it further. If we owned the IP, it's fully in our hands to decide how we create it, how we develop, what are the creative decisions that we take? And then maybe one day in the future, if it proves to be successful, it's again in our hands to decide what will be done. That was important for us."
There’s a 25-Foot Tall Jeff Goldblum Statue in London
A giant Jeff Goldblum statue has been unveiled in London to mark Jurassic Park's 25th Anniversary.
NOW TV revealed the statue, dubbed the Jurassic Jeff, in front of Tower Bridge. It pays homage to a classic scene from the movie featuring Goldblum's Dr. Ian Malcolm with his shirt unbuttoned after a Tyrannosaurus Rex attack.
The sculpture measure 25 feet tall, weighs over 330 pounds, took six weeks to produce and 250 hours to make. Goldblum previously touched on that iconic scene and just how popular it's become over the years.
“It's supposed to be Costa Rica, right?," Goldblum said. "So things are hot and I'm sure I'm in some sort of fever. So all the logic is that we got to get some of these wet clothes off immediately. As I remember, I don't think anybody fought me on that."
