Tarantino’s Manson Film Release Date Gets Moved Up

Quentin Tarantino's film on the infamous Manson Family murders, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is getting moved up to July 26, 2019, according to Variety.

Sony Pictures originally announced that it would release two weeks later, on Aug. 9, 2019 – the 50th anniversary of the murders of Sharon Tate and four others in Hollywood Hills. Variety said the studio is possibly avoiding controversy by those who are followers of Charles Manson.

Marvel Teases X-Men Comics Announcement for Comic-Con 2018

Now X-Men fans have even more to look forward to at this year's San Diego Comic-Con.

Marvel's official Instagram account teased an announcement, which will be made at the Comic-Con 2018 X-Men panel taking place this Sunday at 11:45 AM PST.

This announcement is likely related to X-Men comics, though the instagram post doesn't specify.

The post also suggests whatever is announced will debut this fall, so X-fans won't have to wait long.

Wonder Woman Battles the Paranormal in Justice League Dark Crossover Event

A crossover between Wonder Woman and Justice League Dark is coming to the DC Universe in October, DC Comics announced Wednesday.

The five-part weekly series will release in October 2018, with a story arc being described as a horror titled, The Witching Hour. This is the first event in the "New Justice" family, featuring two-48 page one-shots and will play out in issues of the Wonder Woman and Justice League Dark ongoing series. Justice League Dark series writer James Tynion IV will be scripting all issues in the event.

“The magical side of DC Universe has fans like me who know these strange characters backwards and forwards," Tynion IV told EW. "But to do a horror story you need to center it on people who still have things to discover, where it’s still a mystery to them.”

Fortnite Has Reportedly Made over $1 Billion from In-Game Purchases

At this point, it's essentially common knowledge that Fortnite is an outrageously successful video game. But market research firm SuperData Research has now put another quantitative measure on just how successful Fortnite is.

A new SuperData report (via GamesIndustry.biz) shows that Fortnite has made more than $1 billion off in-game purchases alone. The report also claimed Fortnite is only growing in popularity overall, with an upward trend since October 2017 that saw a huge spike in February that only started slowing in May while still continuing upwards. That slowed May growth was still good enough for a whopping $318 million in revenue.

How Developers Feel About Nintendo’s 20-30 Games a Week eShop Initative

During a recent shareholder's meeting, Nintendo's senior executive officer Susumu Tanaka is "looking to release around 20 to 30 indie games on Nintendo Switch per week." And while Nintendo has already made it clear indie success on the eShop is core to the Switch, are developers happy about this emphasis on more weekly releases, or do they see this as a cause for concern over Nintendo's digital storefront?

A number of developers and publishers who have already published games via the Switch eShop, and may have future releases planned, spoke to IGN about Nintendo's endeavors. Representatives for Yacht Club Games (Shovel Knight), Devolver Digital, Image & Form (SteamWorld Dig 2), Team17, and more offered their takes on if this initiative may overcrowd the marketplace, if Nintendo can do anything to improve promotion on the eShop, and whether such a plan might affect these developers and publishers' interest in bringing games to the Switch.

The Walking Dead Is Getting a VR Game in 2019

The Walking Dead is getting its first VR game next year.

Skydance Interactive and Skybound Entertainment have announced The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, which will launch worldwide in 2019. The game is set in New Orleans and will have players explore the flooded remains of a once vibrant city while dealing with other survivors.

Skydance Interactive and Skybound Entertainment will showcase the game's teaser art during Comic-Con in a come-to-life setting at the Harbor House Restaurant from July 18-July 21.

More about Saints & Sinners will also be revealed during Skybound’s The Walking Dead livestream, which will be streamed on Twitch July 19 at 12 p.m. PT/3 p.m. ET and on July 21 at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET.

All Current World of Warcraft Expansions Now Included With Subscription

The base game and all six of the currently available expansions for World of Warcraft are now included in the game's monthly fee.

Blizzard announced the change to World of Warcraft's payment model on its blog along with the Battle for Azeroth pre-patch, which is available to download now.

All World of Warcraft subscribers have been automatically upgraded to the most recent expansion of the game, Legion, free of charge. This effectively opens all of the game's available expansions for the entire player base - that is, until Battle for Azeroth comes out next month.
