First Look: Grant Morrison Takes Over DC’s Green Lantern With Liam Sharp
DC Comics are relaunching The Green Lantern comic series this November with acclaimed writer Grant Morrison (Batman, All-Star Superman) and artist Liam Sharp (The Brave and the Bold: Batman and Wonder Woman) taking lead hero Hal Jordan back to his classic roots.
“Instead of the big, epic, 12-part stories, we’re focusing down on the everyday life of a space cop. Basically, it’s no more apocalypse-ending storylines,” Morrison told IGN over a phone interview along with Sharp. “The basic concept is that
is like a space cop that patrols a sector of the universe where anything can happen. We’ve made it more like a police procedural.”
A similar grounding tactic was taken after Geoff Johns rebooted the character back in 2005. We saw Hal simply fighting various villains while trying to keep Earth’s sector of the universe under control. In time, though, the storylines grew to become more vast and grand in scale, resulting in interstellar wars and enemies so mind-bendingly powerful that they threatened existence itself. That trend continued with Robert Venditti’s run that saw the Green Lantern Corps tasked with saving the universe from dying -- and that was just the first storyline. You can see why, then, that Morrison and Sharp are intent on keeping things more contained for the foreseeable future.
Amazon’s Jack Ryan Activation Trains You to Be an Operative
Amazon's Jack Ryan activation at Comic-Con 2018 is a fully-immersive experience that gives participants a glimpse at what the world of an operative looks like.
Before Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan drops on Amazon on August 31, fans will be able to train like Jack in the streets of Yemen. There are a wide-range of activities to choose from, like browsing the bazaar, where you'll find silks, spices, ice cream, and even water to keep you hydrated. The activation is free and no Comic-Con badges are required.
There is also a very cool 4D experience, that incorporates Optitrack 4D and Oculus Rift technology. One scenario, in particular, will have the participant dropping out of a helicopter, then using a zip line to get to safety. And that's just the training portion. Once you are a certified operative, the Jack Ryan Dark Ops Escape Room is your final test to see if you have what it takes. Halo Dev Replies to Battle Royale Query: “The Only BR We’re Interested in Is the Battle Rifle”
343 Industries has no interest in making a Battle Royale mode for Halo.
343's Jeff Easterling and James Bachici were asked on the 343 Mixer social stream whether there would be a Battle Royale mode in Halo Infinite, and Easterling replied, "I'll tell you right now, the only BR we're really interested in is Battle Rifle."
Halo Infinite was announced at E3 2018 and will use the new Slipspace Engine created by the studio. 343 Industries said they heard "loud and clear" that players weren't happy with how little time they could play as Master Chief in Halo 5, so Infinite will focus on his story, picking up after Guardians.

Jurassic World Evolution Hits 1 Million Copies Sold
Jurassic World Evolution's combined physical and digital sales have hit one million copies sold over five weeks.
"We are really pleased with Jurassic World Evolution and are delighted to have crossed the 1 million unit threshold so quickly," said Frontier CEO David Braben.
"There is no doubt that initial sales have benefited from the worldwide awareness created by the film release, but it's the quality of the game that's really important and I believe our team have done a terrific job in creating a game that a wide range of players are now enjoying around the world".
The digital version of the game launched on June 12, followed by a retail release on July 3.
The game features voice talent from Jurassic World's Bryce Dallas Howard and BD Wong, reprising their roles as Claire Dearing and Dr. Henry Wu. Jeff Goldblum has also reprised his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm, saying that the game "gets 10 Goldblums out of a possible 10 Goldblums."
