The Rise of Streamed Gaming Is 2018’s Scariest New Trend
This article was originally published during E3 2018 after several developers announced plans for a push toward streamed gaming. We are refreshing and republishing it now after recent rumors surfaced that Microsoft may be developing a dedicated streaming Xbox alongside its regular next-gen console.
E3 2018 was full of vague references to the rise of streamed gaming. EA announced a push toward it at its press conference, followed by Microsoft announcing similar plans of its own (which are now being backed up by recent rumors). Those both came hot on the heels of the very unexpected release of Resident Evil 7: Cloud Version, an exclusively streamed version of a game that assumedly wouldn’t have been able to run on the Switch’s hardware natively.
What Peter Learns From Miles in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Sony Pictures Animaton's upcoming animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse marks the big screen debut of web-slinger Miles Morales. But, in the film, no sooner has Miles become a Spider-Man than he apparently a slew of different Spder-characters from multiple dimensions, from Spider-Gwen to Spider-Ham. We asked Miles Morales voice actor Shameik Moore what his teen superhero character thinks about that during a brief chat at San Diego Comic-Con.
Rather than feel threatened by that, Moore believes Miles "feels a little bit more like, oh, yes, it’s not just me! You know, I can learn from others."
And one of those others he learns from is a 40-year-old Peter Parker from another dimension, voiced by Jake Johnson. The Peter Parker/Spider-Man of Miles' dimension died but, as revealed in the movie's trailer, this older, more jaded Peter comes into Miles' life at an opportune time. And, as much as Miles has to learn from Peter, Johnson told IGN that Miles "has a lot" of impact on Peter Parker, too.

We Will Visit Cybertron in the Bumblebee Movie
Paramount Pictures brought Transformers to San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H today. Well, actually, they brought a Transformer: Bumblebee. Director Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings) and stars Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, and Jorge Lendeborg Jr. were in town to talk about why this new Transformers movie is very different from the previous entries in the series.
The film, which is set in 1987, sees Bumblebee teaming up with Steinfeld’s character (and returning to his familiar Volkswagen Beetle form from the old days rather than the more modern Camaro). The pair will be dealing with some Decepticons, including Shatter, voiced by Angela Bassett, who turns into a red Plymouth Satellite, and Dropkick, voiced by Justin Theroux, who transforms into a blue AMC Javelin.
