Aquaman Won’t Feature Other Justice League Characters
Don't expect to see Wonder Woman or Batman in the upcoming Aquaman solo film.
Speaking to EW, director James Wan revealed the DC movie won't feature other Justice League characters. The filmmaker explained he wanted Aquaman to focus on its titular character, rather than worrying about what other superheroes have been doing in the DCEU.
“I wanted to keep the story to the world of Aquaman and not have to worry about what other characters are doing in their films and how that would affect us," Wan said.
"I just thought the simplest way was to keep it clean — keep it simple and let it be an Aquaman story.”

Blizzard Has Multiple Diablo Projects in the Works
It's been more than six years since Diablo III first released, and more than a year since its last DLC arrived, but the franchise isn't lying dormant. Blizzard announced today that it has multiple new Diablo projects in the works, and fans might get a glimpse at some of them soon.
"The forges here at Blizzard are burning hot, and we have multiple Diablo projects in the works," Diablo Associate Community Manager Brandy Camel said in a video. "Some of them are going to take longer than others, but we may have some things to show you later this year."
That at least one new Diablo project was in the works was essentially confirmed in June when Blizzard posted a job listing for a dungeon artist to work on an "unannounced Diablo project." It's not known if that project is Diablo 4 or something else, however.
Marvel Rising Is a New Kind of Superhero Story
When you're forming a new super-team, a hero with the "agility and strength of a squirrel" might not be high on your list of allies, but as Milana Vayntrub demonstrates in our exclusive sneak peek from Disney XD's Marvel Rising above, you'd be lucky to have Squirrel Girl in your corner.
Vayntrub was initially cast to play Squirrel Girl (aka Doreen Green) in live-action for Freeform's New Warriors, but the show is now being shopped to other networks because there wasn't room on Freeform's schedule this season. Thankfully, the plucky heroine and her loyal squirrel sidekick Tippy Toe are a major part of Marvel Rising, which is described as a "multiplatform animated franchise with a focus on inclusivity, empowerment and relatability for a tween audience."

As seen in the image below, the box appears to be enormous for just those three items, but that's all Nintendo has announced as far as contents.
The Oscars Will Add a ‘Popular Film’ Category
The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences' board of governors has announced several major changes coming to future broadcasts of The Oscars, including a popular film award, a shorter broadcast time and an earlier date for future shows.
This news broke via a message to official Academy members, with the board of governors announcing three key changes to the show, along with re-electing famed cinematographer John Bailey as its president.
The first change is that the board will do everything possible to keep the show at a consumable three-hour broadcast. This will be achieved by honoring all 24 award categories by presenting them live in the Dolby Theater, but some less popular awards will be shown during commercial breaks. These moments that aren't initially broadcasted will be edited and aired later in the broadcast, presumably after the three hour mark has been reached.
Ghost World’s Lasting Lesson About Fandom and Pop Culture
Ghost World is a cultural cornerstone for many who came of age around the time of its 2001 release. Terry Zwigoff’s film adaptation of Daniel Clowes’ seminal graphic novel captured the essence of a generation, and introduced audiences to Scarlett Johansson two years before Lost In Translation made her a star. Now a bona fide cult classic - with an Academy Award nomination and Criterion Collection release to boot - it’s known as a key text of disaffected early-2000s youth culture.
But Ghost World has greater significance that impacts a broader swathe of the population. In addition to a story of post-high-school malaise, it’s quietly one of the smartest films ever made about how we consume and appraise pop culture.
