Extermination Takes a Heavy Toll on the X-Men
Marvel kicked off its latest X-Men event this week, and things are already looking pretty bleak for our heroes.
Warning: this article contains spoilers for Extermination #1!
The original teenage X-Men have been trapped in the present-day Marvel Universe ever since 2012's All-New X-Men #1. Extermination appears to be the story where they finally go back to their own timeline. Though if this first issue is any indication, they may not survive long enough to make the trip home. The emergence of old and new foes has resulted in the deaths of two X-Men and the capture of a third.
How the Best Monster Hunter World Players Trained for the USA Championship
For the first time ever, Capcom held an official, standalone Monster Hunter tournament stateside on July 28, 2018 in San Francisco. At stake was a trip to Japan to represent the US in a worldwide championship, and when the dust settled Social Dissonance walked away with the honor. But the journey was as much a part of the story as the destination, and we talked to some of the USA Championship finalists about why a certain weapon was so popular, how they prepared, and how other players can get better at this notoriously challenging game. Watch the video for a summary of three finalist's tales, or read on for an in-depth look.
Dead Man Logan Tells the Final Story of Old Man Logan
Old Man Logan's story will officially conclude with the 12-part limited series, "Dead Man Logan."
Per Newsarama, "Dead Man Logan" will see Old Man Logan tying up loose ends by going after Mysterio, who tricked Logan into murdering his fellow X-Men in the Old Man Logan timeline. This forced Logan to retire (for a time) while disavowing the Wolverine name.

The Coolest PS4 Limited Editions
Sony has announced a limited edition PS4 celebrating a huge milestone, making for yet another in a line of special edition consoles this generation.
In honor of the console and its reveal, IGN has taken a look back at many of the special edition PS4's, PS4 Slims, and PS4 Pros. Take a dive into the history of the special consoles in the gallery below.
A couple caveats — we opted not to include many of the special edition consoles that were offered in extremely limited supply (ie, a special PS4 Pro of which only one or a dozen were made). We also, because of limited assets to use, did not include the Final Fantasy XIV Heavensward, Hatsune Miku, and Dynasty Warriors 8 special editions due to a lack of available, clean images.
New Spider-Man Trailer Reveals New York City Sites
A new Spider-Man gameplay trailer is debuting exclusively on IGN, and it centers on the open-world New York City that Spider-Man calls home.
The trailer, called Just the Facts: Marvel's New York, consists of Spider-Man swinging, spinning, and swan-diving through the upcoming game's open-world while a radio show hosted by J. Jonah Jameson plays in the background. In it, Jameson smack-talks everyone's favorite web-slinger while Peter Parker calls on the show to defend his alter ego.
Some major landmarks are shown off in the trailer, both fictional and real. The video gives us a closer look at the Sanctum Sanctorum, the famous residence of Doctor Strange, and the Avengers Tower, headquarters of, you guessed it: The Avengers. As far as real-world landmarks, the Radio City Music Hall and a riff on MoMA called the Manhattan Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA) are both shown off.
Is Gamora Marvel’s New Thanos?
If you've been keeping up with Marvel's latest comic event -- Infinity Wars (not to be confused with Infinity War, the movie) -- you'll know that fan-favorite Guardian of the Galaxy Gamora recently had a major reveal, and a pretty dark one at that. So dark, in fact, she may have just solidified her future role as one of Marvel's next big bads, just like her father. The question is: how did she end up here, and, more importantly, what does that actually mean?
Warning: this post contains spoilers for Infinity Countdown, Infinity Wars Prime, and Infinity Wars!
Soul Searching
Unsurprisingly, Gamora's descent into madness (?) begins well before all the Infinity Gem chaos really started to ramp up, all the way back in the mid ‘70s before the original Infinity Gauntlet event where Gamora's consciousness was absorbed into the Soul Gem after her body was killed. In the ensuing years, Gamora's soul was projected from the Soulworld housed within the gem and given new physical form, essentially resurrecting her and paving the way for the modern Gamora we know and love today.

The parent company of MoviePass, Helios and Matheson have reported a loss of $126.6 million for their third quarter, which ended June 30, according to Deadline.
Shareholders have also filed a class action lawsuit to be compensated for the drop in stock that began last month, as MoviePass' stock fell below $1 per share following outages during the premiere of Mission Impossible: Fallout, which later led to the public news of MoviePass running out of money.
Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season Full Release Schedule Revealed
Telltale Games has announced the release schedule for all four episodes of The Walking Dead: The Final Season.
Telltale Games tweeted this news just a day after the release of Episode One, "Done Running", in which our review states that the "meandering conversations and exposition make this first episode a slow, dull build."
