Soulcalibur 6 Could Be the Last in the Series If It Doesn’t Sell Well
If the six year wait between Soulcalibur 5 and 6 has felt unbearable to some fans, they'd better hope Soulcalibur 6 is a success.
Producer Motohiro Okubo told DualShockers that the franchise was on shaky ground after the fifth installment, and that there may never be another game in the series if Soulcalibur 6 is a flop.
That would be the worst-case scenario, but publisher Bandai Namco apparently had to be slowly won over to even give Soulcalibur 6 the green light.
“The first thing is that the IP itself of the SoulCalibur franchise had low expectations from the company," said Okubo. "It was actually facing a crisis of maybe disappearing. It took time for me to convince the company.”
John Goodman Says The Conners Will Kill Off Roseanne
If John Goodman is to be believed, upcoming Roseanne spinoff The Conners will see the family dealing with the aftermath of the death of matriarch Roseanne Conner.
Earlier this year, ABC announced that it was cancelling the newly-revived Roseanne after a single season, following series star Roseanne Barr's controversial comments on Twitter about former White House adviser Valerie Jarrett . But, given the show's success (the season premiere drew over 18 million viewers), it wasn't long before ABC announced that the rest of the cast would be moving forward with a Roseanne-less spinoff, tentatively titled The Conners, although it wasn't clear how the show would deal with Barr's absence.
