Wonder Woman’s Next Threat? A Supervillain Pickup Artist
Wonder Woman's long history is rife with formidable foes, but in the world of DC's Earth One graphic novel line, even the most dated of them can be reinvented into something truly timely and even more horrific. This is exactly what creator Grant Morrison did alongside his collaborator Yanick Paquette for the second volume of their alternate universe Wonder Woman: Earth One series with an all-new take on the 1940s villain Doctor Psycho. By flipping the script on his original 1940s incarnation, Morrison and Paquette have taken Doctor Psycho from campy vintage hypnotist to modern day "pickup artist."
The "pickup artist" or PUA community in the real world is a group of men who believe they can subliminally suggest ideas to women using scripts and other "mind control" tactics to make them more compliant, usually aiming for some sort of sexual or romantic favor. Dr. Psycho's new angle was inspired by a combination of real-world sources, according to Morrison, who spoke to IGN along with a small group of reporters at a press event. "I was looking towards the modern version of the

Aquaman Figure Brings the Classic Costume to Life
New York Comic-Con is upon us this week, and we've already got a cool exclusive to share with you: a close-up look at the movie version of Aquaman's classic costume, as represented by an upcoming Sideshow Collectibles Premium Format Figure.
Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Entertainment, in partnership with Sidehow, announced the Aquaman Premium Format Figure this week, and now IGN has a first look at the piece. Scaled at 1:4 and approximately 23" tall, the figure represents the Jason Momoa version of Arthur Curry/Aquaman in the character's original green and yellow suit. Fans who attended the Warner Bros. panel at San Diego Comic-Con last summer caught a glimpse of this costume in footage screened, to date, only at that convention. Whereas the Momoa version of Aquaman wore a different suit in his previous DCEU appearances, his solo movie will at least partially feature his classic look.

Amazon Studios Greenlights The Wheel of Time Series
Amazon Studios officially announced that it has greenlit a one-hour action fantasy adaptation of The Wheel of Time to series, with Rafe Judkins (Agents of SHIELD, Chuck) serving as showrunner.
The Wheel of Time series is based on Robert Jordan's best-selling fantasy novels, which according to an Amazon press release, "have sold more than 90 million copies worldwide." Judkins, who is also adapting the books, gave the world a sneak peek at the first script in a twitter post that you can see right here.
Per Amazon, "The Wheel of Time is set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists, but only women can use it. Meaning that in this series — women hold the keys to power. The story follows Moiraine, a member of the shadowy and influential all-female organization called the ‘Aes Sedai’ as she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women. Moiraine’s interested in these five because she believes one of them might be the reincarnation of an incredibly powerful individual, whom prophecies say will either save humanity or destroy it."
