Geoff Johns Wants Shazam! to Explore the Fun Side of Magic
It’s not uncommon to see storytellers depict magic as something dark and dangerous, but DC comic scribe Geoff Johns wants to remind people about the fun, whimsy, and adventure of magic in his upcoming monthly Shazam! comic series with artist Dale Eaglesham.
“I think often magic in the books can be connected to the darker stuff, like monsters, Swamp Thing, and Justice League Dark, and we’re really going to a different side of magic, to the actual origin source of magic, which is wonderful and colorful and mysterious,” Johns told IGN in a phone interview. Much like he constructed expansive new mythologies for Green Lantern and Aquaman, Johns is building out a whole history for the source of Shazam’s magic that expands far beyond just Earth. Johns cited fantasy works such as The Chronicles of Narnia, Alice in Wonderland, and The Wizard of Oz as inspiration for how he’ll be using Shazam to open doorways to other magical realms all ripe for exploration.

MediEvil PS4 Is a Remake, Not a Remaster
Sony Worldwide Studios chairman Shawn Layden has described the PS4 version of MediEvil as a remake, not a remaster - despite the game being originally advertised using the latter term.
Appearing on PlayStation Blogcast, Layden explained the approach for this new version of the fondly-remembered PS1 game:
“I think there have been some words that might sound alike but mean different things – like remake and remaster. This is a remake. We’ve taken the original game design and we’ve taken a lot of the key art, some of the other attributes of the game design and ethos, if you will. And we’re working with a developer called Other Ocean Interactive, and they are remaking MediEvil in that design – the original MediEvil from PS1. The one that I worked on when I was in Tokyo."

Avengers 4 Will Include Flashbacks and At Least One Surprise Return Character
A past character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be returning in Avengers 4, as reported by THR.
Warning: Spoilers for Avengers 4 follow...
Frank Grillo has confirmed that his character, Brock Rumlow – also known as the Hydra agent and terrorist Crossbones – will be returning in the fourth installment of the Avengers team-films.
He won't be returning in a typical way though, as Crossbones dies in Captain America: Civil War.
Grillo said his character will be appearing in a flashback.
"He makes an appearance in the next Avengers movie," Grillo said during the UFC Unfiltered podcast. "But it's a flashback … I'm allowed to say whatever I want because I'm never doing another Marvel movie." (THR reported that Grillo said the reason is due to his age, not his character's death.)
Teen Titans Go! and Original Animated Titans Will Unite for New Project
The original animated Titans will unite with Teen Titans Go! in a new project called Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans.
A representative from Warner Bros. confirmed to IGN the project will be released sometime 2019. There's currently no word as to what form this new project may take, as the studio refrained from sharing any other details about Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans at this time.
A mid-credits scene in Teen Titans Go! To the Movies sparked chatter that some sort of crossover with the original animated Titans may be coming. As noted by io9, a teaser for the new project, allegedly featured the upcoming home video release of Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, surfaced online a couple days ago.
HBO’s Watchmen Series Will Have ‘Intimacy Coordinator’ to Oversee Sex Scenes
In the midst of Hollywood's #MeToo movement, HBO has hired an "Intimacy Coordinator" to help oversee sex scenes for any project containing them, including David Simon's The Deuce, David Milch's Deadwood movie, and Damon Lindelof's upcoming Watchmen series.
Per Rolling Stone, the decision to create the position came after one of The Deuce's stars, Emily Meade, informed HBO executives that she "needed some kind of advocate on the set, someone to help her when she had a sex scene to film."
In response, HBO hired Alicia Rodis, co-founder of the nonprofit organization Intimacy Directors International, or IDI for short. According to IDI's website, "The choreography of these scenes must accurately tell the characters' stories, as intended by the writer through the interpretation of the director and the actors involved, while respecting the physical and psychological safety of all involved. Various specific rehearsal methods and practices are used to ensure this to be the case. Recommended Intimacy Directors operate in a specific code of ethics, with a high artistic standard, while operating their rehearsals in a professional, respectful, appropriate and amiable atmosphere."
