Pixar Director Explains How Food Inspired the Bao Animated Short

Centered around the experience of a Chinese immigrant family, the short film Bao is an important glimpse into the life of a mother learning to let go. Like many shorts that air before Pixar feature-length films, Bao tells an important, familiar story through clever, unconventional ways. In this case, director Domee Shi felt it was important to use food as the driving metaphor behind the film's message.

"In Chinese culture -- and I think in a lot of cultures around the world -- food and family just go hand in hand," Shi told IGN during a recent junket for The Incredibles 2's home video release. "My parents don't say 'I love you,' they say 'Oh, have you eaten yet?', 'Eat more,' 'You're too thin,' or 'Oh no, you ate too much!'

well, we don't know what we expected.

With all the Cornballers, Stair Cars, Analrapists, Never Nudes, and meaty man parts in your mouth, it's very easy to get lost inside this show's labyrinthine maze of puns, wordplay, and deeply committed running gags. Tom Hanks Reveals His Emotional Reaction to Toy Story 4’s Ending

Tom Hanks has said that the ending of Toy Story 4 was so intense he didn't want to face the crew while he recorded his lines.

Speaking on Chris Evans' (the English radio DJ, not Cap) Breakfast Show, Hanks recalled the final day of recording, which also happened to be the end of the movie.

"It was the first time that we were going to be recording the end of the movie, and Toy Story

is going to have an impactful ending," he said.

"The way you record Toy Story, you're in a room with the team that has created it. When I went in for my last day of recording, I wanted to have my back to them, because usually, you're facing him so he can look right up and you can talk about it.

The Most Incredible, Brand New, 42-Year-Old Movie of 2018

When critics list the best films of 2018, there’s an excellent chance that one of their choices will be 42-years-old. That’s because The Other Side of the Wind, the final film from Citizen Kane director Orson Welles, was shot in 1976 and - through a series of unpredictable circumstances - hasn’t been finished until now.

Orson Welles began his career as an actor and theater director, starring in the iconic superhero radio show The Shadow, and fooling the world into thinking aliens were real with his notorious War of the Worlds broadcast. When he came to Hollywood, with an unprecedented contract that gave him final cut on his own motion pictures (which was unheard of in the 1940s, and still almost never happens), his first motion picture was Citizen Kane, a groundbreaking drama about a mysterious newspaper tycoon which would eventually be hailed as the greatest motion picture ever filmed.
