Is Amazon’s Homecoming the New Mr. Robot? They’ve Got One Big Similarity.

Amazon Prime Video's newest series, Homecoming, is a unique kind of thriller. Adapted from a cult podcast hit that already boasted a star-studded cast (including Oscar Isaac, Catherine Keener and David Schwimmer) - the show plays with the typical TV formula by keeping the majority of the twist-filled episodes to a lean half-hour run time, while still aiming for a cinematic feel thanks to elaborate one-shots and Hitchcockian framing.

Executive produced and directed by Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail, the show stars Julia Roberts in her first TV role, alongside Bobby Cannavale, Stephan James, Sissy Spacek and Shea Whigham. Roberts stars as Heidi Bergman, a caseworker at the Homecoming Transitional Support Center, a Geist Group facility helping soldiers transition back to civilian life. Walter Cruz (James) is one of these soldiers, eager to begin the next phase of his life. Overseeing Heidi and the facility is Colin Belfast (Cannavale), an ambitious company man whose manic demands point to questionable motives.

Update: Blizzard Says It ‘Didn’t Pull Any Announcements From BlizzCon’

Update: A representative for Blizzard responded to IGN's request for comment, saying, contrary to today's earlier Kotaku report, that the company "didn't pull any announcements from BlizzCon this year or have plans for other announcements."

Blizzard's statement also confirmed what the company has said before in that multiple unannounced Diablo projects are being worked on.

Blizzard's full response to IGN reads:

First off we want to mention that we definitely hear our community. We generally don’t comment on rumors or speculation, but we can say that we didn’t pull any announcements from BlizzCon this year or have plans for other announcements. We do continue to have different teams working on multiple unannounced Diablo projects, and we look forward to announcing when the time is right.

Box Office Breakdown of Director Bryan Singer’s Films

20th Century Fox’s Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody had no trouble taking the top spot at the weekend box office, with an estimated $50 million, a tally that was much higher than initial projections. While the movie is the 10th of director Bryan Singer’s storied career (technically, it’s his 11th, but there is no box office data for his feature debut, 1993’s Public Access), this solid opening still doesn’t hold a candle to literally half of the director’s films, which, coincidentally, are all superhero movies. So we’re going to take a closer look at how the debut of Bohemian Rhapsody stacks up to the rest of Bryan Singer’s films, which is almost ironic since it almost wasn’t his film at all.

Here’s Why You Won’t See Maggie in Tonight’s Walking Dead

This interview contains spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 9, episode 5, "What Comes After." AMC also released a preview teaser for the next three episodes, which you can watch below.

The Walking Dead pulled off an emotional farewell to Rick Grimes in "What Comes After," but it won't be the last we see of Andrew Lincoln, after Rick survived the destruction of the bridge and was taken to an unknown location by Anne. We'll find out what's next for Rick in a series of movies written by Walking Dead chief content officer Scott Gimple (and we have some ideas about what the films should be about), but since the show must go on without him, IGN caught up with showrunner Angela Kang to discuss the many twists of episode 5 - including the surprising fact that it was apparently also Lauren Cohan's final appearance as Maggie this season, despite the show giving no indication of that fact narratively.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: Ubisoft Suspends Mercenary Live Events Following Delays

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s epic mercenary events are being suspended following two consecutive delays of the Damais the Indifferent live event.

The news comes from Ubisoft’s official forums, saying the content didn’t appear for most players, and that a fix is in the works. Ubisoft hopes to properly reintroduce the mercenary live events later this month.

"Two weeks ago, when we attempted to launch the first Epic Mercenary Event with Damais the Indifferent, we discovered that the content didn’t properly appear for a majority of our players,” said Ubisoft community manager Dom. "It wasn’t satisfactory to have an event available to only a portion of our players, so we decided to temporarily remove the Epic Mercenary Events from the game altogether until the issue is resolved. We are working on a fix and are hoping to introduce them later this month."

9 New Things in Just Cause 4 – IGN First

Rico Rodriguez is back, and so is IGN First.

All month, we’ll be showing off exclusive footage and impressions of the most insane open world Avalanche has created yet, from the game’s new Army of Chaos features to using physics alone as a weapon. But first, let us get you up to speed.

Just Cause has always had a fairly straightforward philosophy - blow s**t up, and look cool doing so. But just because that approach hasn’t changed doesn’t mean you won’t have new ways to do it. Here are 9 new features coming along with Rico for the new adventure.

Grapple Upgrades

Just Cause is not a back-to-basics kind of series. Rico’s grappling hook has become more and more useful over the course of the series, and now it’s a truly multifunctional device. Aside from helping traversal and tethering objects and enemies together, it can now also attach rocket boosters and airlifter balloons from close to the start of the game. All of those functions can be combined – ever wanted to make a flying rocket bus? – and even modded to act exactly as you want them to. Oh, and you can have ten tethers of any kind equipped at any one time. Have fun.
