Sony Released a Quieter Version of the PS4 Pro Without Telling Anyone
Sony has released an updated version of the PlayStation 4 Pro without bothering to announce it, reports Eurogamer's Digital Foundry.
This new model runs a few decibels quieter than a previously updated version Sony released in 2017, which itself ran a few decibels quieter than the original 2016 model.
In testing the new model while playing God of War, Digital Foundry measured a two or three-decibel reduction (depending on whether measuring from the top or rear of the console) from last year's model. That makes for a six-to-seven-decibel noise reduction from the launch model.
Steam Sale and Limited-Time DLC Coming in Aid of Anti-War Charities
Several games will offer limited DLC, and a Steam sale will be held, all to support the Armistice fundraising initiative from charities War Child and Children in Conflict.
Held to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the end of World War 1 on November 11, Armistice aims to encourage peaceful gameplay, and raise money for the anti-war charities.
Steam is offering a selection of (extremely good) games for up to 75% off this week, with a percentage of the proceeds going to charity.
Several games will also offer Armistice DLC or promotions. Aardman-animated World War 1 game, 11-11: Memories Retold will offer a £2.99 DLC pack featuring actress Carey Mulligan, with all proceeds going to War Child.

Just Cause 4: Avalanche’s Smartest Approach to Stupidity Yet – IGN First
Just Cause 4’s new weather systems began as a single, small idea – adding visible wind currents to the world, allowing perennial hero Rico’s parachute-wingsuit-parachute traversal to become even more useful. But, according to game director Francesco Antolini, once that was added the team then started thinking about how it could be pushed further.
Could wind be added at ground level, and affect NPCs? What about tip over cars? What if the wind was part of a sandstorm? Or a lightning storm, to add more jeopardy? Naturally, this process eventually led to “what if there was a gigantic, man-made tornado that existed somewhere on the game’s map at all times and could suck up almost every object it passed by?” And so the team made, well, all of that.
The PlayStation Classic Is Fun But Feels Incomplete
Sony's done a good job of telling us just about everything we need to know about the PlayStation Classic — its library, what features it does and doesn’t have. And while some lingering questions remain, it very much seems like what you see is what you get with the console. And after spending about two hours with the system, that's how I felt for better or worse — the great aspects I expected to be there definitely are, but Sony's first mini console doesn't do much surprising to go the extra, nostalgic mile, especially with some obvious exclusions.

Red Dead Online Beta to Arrive ‘Towards the End’ of November
We knew it would come at some point this month, but Rockstar owner Take-Two Interactive has confirmed that the beta for Red Dead Online will arrive at the end of November.
On an earnings call, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick explained that "it will launch in public beta towards the end of the month – Rockstar will have a lot more to say about it".
Zelnick didn't go into any more detail about exact timing, but at least we know it won't be a surprise release for the next few weeks.
