Green Hornet Movie Reboot in the Works

A film reboot of The Green Hornet is in the works, and Gavin O’Connor is on board to direct.

According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures and Chernin Entertainment have secured the film rights and are moving forward with film that offers an edgier take on Britt Reid. O'Connor, whose directorial credits include The Accountant and Warrior, is working with writer Sean O'Keefe, who's been tapped to pen the script.

The Green Hornet graced the silver screen back in 2011 by way of Columbia Pictures. Thanks to it being such a costly endeavor, the Michel Gondry-directed film, which starred Seth Rogen, never got a sequel.

Guardians Director on Fox, Marvel Character Swap Deal

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will feature Ego the Living Planet thanks to a character swap between Fox and Marvel, a trade director James Gunn says he's very grateful for.

In a post of Facebook, Gunn discussed the trade — which granted Marvel the use of Ego in exchange for allowing Fox to take some creative liberties with Negasonic Teenage Warhead in Deadpool — admitting he crafted the story for Guardians 2 before realizing Marvel Studios didn't have the rights to the character.

EA Bringing ‘One of Our Bigger Games’ to Nintendo Switch

EA is looking to launch one or two games for Nintendo Switch, and it sounds like they'll be from very familiar franchises.

GameSpot reports that EA CFO Blake Jorgensen mentioned one of those games will be a notable port from the company while speaking at the UBS Global Technology Conference. "We haven't yet announced what game, but you should assume that it's one of our bigger games," he said. "We're excited for Nintendo."

But Jorgensen is still cautious about Nintendo Switch's appeal. "It's an interesting device," he said. "But I can't yet predict how broad it's going to be.

Designing Stormtroopers That Are Actually Deadly

Marvel’s ongoing Star Wars comic book has employed several different artists, with the current arc showcasing the talents of Jorge Molina. The Mexican-born artist started out 12 years ago working on Street Fighter comics before doing design work for video games and finally breaking into mainstream comics with work for both DC and Marvel, including titles Birds of Prey, Wolverine and the X-Men, Thor, Captain America and A-Force.

Now on a two-year exclusive contract with Marvel, his current Star Wars story arc with writer Jason Aaron titled “The Last Flight of the Harbinger” sees the Rebels trying to liberate a planet by stealing a Star Destroyer and using it as a battering ram through an Imperial blockade. Naturally, nothing goes according to plan and the Imperials gain the upper hand when they send an elite team of Stormtroopers called the SCAR Squad to board the stolen Star Destroyer and deal with the Rebels. Their leader, Sergeant Kreel, even wields a lightsaber and has history with Luke Skywalker.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Reshoots Underway

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is undergoing reshoots.

Nebula actress Karen Gillan announced on Twitter that she's currently back to film scenes for the sequel. "Guardians of the Galaxy reshoots today," she said Monday. "So excited to be back with the gang!"

She also added a couple of hashtags so people don't get concerned about the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 reshoots. Among them, she mentioned "easiest reshoots ever" and "cause the movie is already insanely good."

Reshoots and days of additional photography outside of the standard shooting schedule are often factored into Marvel and other major studio films, as was the case with this year's Suicide Squad and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
