Night in the Woods Developer Accused of Sexual Assault Dies

Alec Holowka, a designer, programmer, and composer on Night in the Woods has died. Holowka was recently accused of sexual assault, which was later followed by Infinite Fall, the studio behind Night in the Woods, cutting ties with him. The announcement of Holowka’s death comes from sister Eileen Mary Holowka on Twitter.

Joker First Reactions Twitter Roundup

Members of the press were able to see Todd Phillips' Joker ahead of its screening at the 76th Venice Film Festival, and the first reviews and impressions are overwhelmingly positive towards the film and its star, Joaquin Phoenix.

In our 10/10 review of Joker by Jim Vejvoda, we called it a masterpiece and said "Starring a captivating Joaquin Phoenix, The Clown Prince of Crime gets a standalone film for the ages with Joker."

350,000 People Watched a Gnome Mage Hit Level 60 in WoW Classic

The first World of Warcraft Classic player has hit the game’s current level cap of 60, and it sparked a celebration for the ages in the MMO world.

According to Eurogamer, a World of Warcraft Classic player by the name of Jokerd, a 22-year-old from the country of Malta, created a gnome mage character and was the first in the entire game to hit level 60. Even better, he streamed the entire thing on Twitch, accomplishing the feat in just over three days.

Astral Chain Could Mark a New Era for PlatinumGames

You almost always know what you’re going to get with a Platinum game. With very few exceptions, titles made in the developer’s 10-year history are action games, built with cinematic pacing, a focus on highly skill-based input, and very little to do outside of the combat. All of which is why Astral Chain is so surprising.

Yes, the Switch exclusive is primarily an action game, but it’s a very different kind of action game for Platinum. Where the likes of Bayonetta or The Wonderful 101 thrive on fighting game-like button pressing prowess, Astral Chain is more interested in movement and positioning. Controlling two characters at once, not to mention utilising the titular chain that binds them, turns the game’s combat into more of a dance than a punch-up; less fury, more elegance.

James Gunn Reveals the Most-Requested Song for Guardians of the Galaxy 3

From Hooked on a Feeling to Come to Get Your Love to a dance off featuring O-o-h Child, the Guardians of the Galaxy films have featured some of the greatest musical hits from our history. However, there is one song that director James Gunn won't ever use, even though it just so happens to be the most-requested by fans.

This revelation was prompted by @Jairus stating that Gunn "better use a song by The Style Council in the next GOTG movie." Gunn quote Tweeted that tweet, saying "If I used every song I "better" use or that someone will "riot" if I don't, my soundtracks would be 30,000 hours long."

Homeworld 3 Announced from Gearbox and Blackbird Interactive

Gearbox Publishing and Blackbird Interactive have announced Homeworld 3, a true sequel to 2003's space-faring RTS Homeworld 2.

Homeworld 3 is currently a few months into pre-production and is currently on Fig.com, which allows fans to pledge/invest in the development of this new title. As of this writing, Homeworld 3's money raised is at $137,380 with 30 days to go.

This move allows backers to "snag a backstage pass to impact the game's development and prove that the fanbase still craves Homeworld 3." From features to priorities to what's in the collector's edition, backers will have their voice heard.
