Xbox Keyboard and Mouse Support Is ‘Definitely Coming’

Mouse and keyboard support for the Xbox One has seemingly been in the works for a long time now, but we are promised it is coming soon.

Speaking at Major Nelson's Xbox PAX panel over the weekend, Microsoft's Mike Ybarra fielded a question about when keyboard and mouse support is coming. The clip below is from Xbox E3 Fans on Twitter.

American McGee Working on Proposal for Alice 3

American McGee is starting work on a proposal for a new Alice game.

According to the game designer's website, the next chapter is tentatively titled Alice: Asylum. The proposal, containing artwork, a design outline and the business model, is being prepared and will be sent to EA for appraisal.

It was only two months ago that American McGee asked fans to stop asking about a possible Alice sequel or remaster. He is now hopeful for the new idea, but admits that he "can't promise the pitch will result in a new game, but we might as well try, right?"

According to Nintendo, Mario Is No Longer a Plumber

We cover some pretty big stuff on this site, but very little is this epochal. It is my sad duty to report that Mario is no longer a plumber.

In an official profile of Mario on Nintendo's Japanese site (as spotted and translated by Kotaku), the hero is described as:

"All around sporty, whether it’s tennis or baseball, soccer or car racing,

does everything cool. As a matter of fact, he also seems to have worked as a plumber a long time ago..."

No Toyota in Need for Speed Payback, Either

Ghost Games has confirmed that Toyota vehicles will not feature in Need for Speed Payback. The news comes via a post from a Ghost spokesperson on the Need for Speed subreddit (via GTPlanet).

“We know the subject of Toyota is on a lot of minds over the last few weeks,” began the statement. “As many of you here suspect, there will be no Toyota cars in Need for Speed Payback. While we’re as disappointed as you are, we do hope that we’ll once again see Toyota back in Need for Speed in the future.”

A Great Gaming Story: How My Team Won the 24hrs Le Mans

Being known as “one of those gamer people” (actual quote) around the office of my non-video games related day job often means that, first thing Monday morning, someone will seek me out to excitedly tell me about what they played on the weekend. It’s one of the best parts of my week. Their eyes brighten and their voices jump as they passionately break down to me the best - and worst - moments of their weekend’s play, be it their progress towards gaining a platinum trophy in Horizon: Zero Dawn, or the moment they lost their favourite sniper in XCOM 2 to “some snake-like bastard”. Telling stories is just inherently a part of what people like to do, and video game stories are no different.

American Horror Story: Cult Is a Strong New Direction for Series

Putting dangerous witches, sexy vampires and demonic nuns on hold, American Horror Story: Cult pulls back the curtain to explore the psychological aftermath from the 2016 presidential campaign.

Fear and anxiety take center stage here, pitting Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters against each other in a perverse tale of progress and paranoia. Season 7 puts the cult of personality directly in the spotlight, revealing that the real monster in this horror story is us. After viewing the first three episodes of Cult -- titled “Election Night,” “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” and “Neighbors from Hell” -- at an advance press screening, it’s safe to say that this move is a welcome change for the series.

Skyrim on Switch is Everything You Hoped it Would Be

Nintendo’s behind-closed-doors appointments at PAX West always happen in the same tiny room. Well above the bustling show floor, down a very clinical hallway, tucked behind a door that simply reads “Nintendo”, we get to spend about an hour here each year, and get a sneak peak at the Nintendo games that are just over the horizon.

This year, we waited in that beige hallway for an extra 10 minutes before we were allowed entry. Our Nintendo rep opened the door just enough to pop his head out.

“Give us a minute,” he said, “Skyrim is broken.”

There it was. All my fears for this game realized in a brief update. You see, I love Skyrim. Like, 300+ hours, multiple completions, different character classes on different systems, love it. And I love my Nintendo Switch, but since Skyrim was announced for Switch, I’ve been perplexed. How? How could I take this entire sprawling kingdom with me in my back pocket?

Fire Emblem Warriors Mixes Strategy with Hack and Slash

If you’ve ever played a Dynasty Warriors-style Musou game, you know the drill: hundreds of enemies rush toward you, and you mow them down in gigantic, sweeping combos that take out dozens at once. Nintendo entered the fray with Hyrule Warriors a few years ago and injected Zelda into the formula, and now they’re inserting Fire Emblem into the mix.

But Fire Emblem Warriors does more than simply tack on a few familiar characters and sound effects. In a demo at PAX West, we got to see a section of combat that included some smart nods to the main franchise.

At any point, it’s possible to switch between a selection of different party members to control, each with their own style of movement and attacks. We switched between Takumi wielding a bow and arrow, Xander on horseback, and Hinoka on a Pegasus, and each had a completely different style. Hinoka could fly, for example, lifting vertically to come crashing down on enemies.
