Iron Banner Returns Next Week With Tweaks and Bugfixes
Destiny's Iron Banner multiplayer event will return next week with a few new tweaks in store.
The temporary playlist will be Clash — a.k.a. Team Deathmatch — and will be open up on April 26 at 10 AM PDT. It will last until the following Monday, but only until 2 AM PDT. that same day.
Designer Jeremiah Pieschl outlined some changes in the Bungie announcement as well. Legendary Engrams will drop less, and the difference is being picked up by Iron Banner-specific gear. The drops can also occur at the end of every match, meaning you won't have to reach rank 2 before the new loot appears.
The studio also revealed that a bug was preventing some players lower than rank 5 from receiving rewards. That has apparently been resolved as of the Destiny April update.
Patton Oswalt on His Netflix Special, MST3K and Star Wars
While he’s plenty busy these days as an actor -- in the past year, you’ve seen or heard him on The Goldbergs, BoJack Horseman, Veep and Agents of SHIELD, among many other projects – Patton Oswalt also has a brand new stand-up special debuting this Friday on Netflix, Talking for Clapping.
I sat down with Oswalt to discuss his approach to stand-up, some of the topics he covers in Talking for Clapping and more, including his role in the new revival of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and -- following his hysterical, highly critical thoughts on the Star Wars prequels -- his take on The Force Awakens.
IGN: You’ve spoken about the differences and similarities between a music tour versus doing stand up and watching the special, I did wonder how much you lay it out like a set list and figure out the rhythm of, “This bit before this bit.”
HBO Now Comes to Xbox Ahead of GoT Premiere
HBO’s standalone streaming service, HBO Now, is now available on Xbox One and Xbox 360. The company also announced Game of Thrones’ season premiere will be free for all Xbox users the day after it premieres, from April 25-28.
For $15 USD per month, the service provides access to HBO’s entire library of television series and movies. This includes classics such as The Sopranos and The Wire, as well as current series like Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, and Veep -- all of which were renewed earlier today.
If you're currently subscribed to HBO Now, simply download the app on your Xbox One or Xbox 360 and authenticate your account. New users can sign up for a one-month free trial at HBO’s website.
Game of Thrones: Tyrion’s 9 Best Moments
Spoilers for Tyrion-related activities from the first five seasons of HBO's Game of Thrones...
With Game of Thrones' sixth season set to rock our world and rip us to ribbons on Sunday, April 24th, the time is perfect for a look back at "The Imp" of Westeros and all the wit and courage he's brought to the realm. Tyrion Lannister may not stand very tall, but he often rises to great heights when it comes to insight, wisdom, and dark bouts of drunken debauchery.
Tyrion may be from the richest family in all the land, but his birth status as an unwanted underdog gifted him with a sense of justice and empathy for other unfortunate souls. An aspect of his character that's only grown over the duration of the series.
The Division: Two Big Exploits Fixed
Two glitches that players of Tom Clancy's The Division have been heavily exploiting have been patched out, according to an official Ubisoft forum post.
The first is the "double revive" glitch, which allowed players to revive a downed teammate, and then continue holding the "interact" button in order to essentially stock an extra life for the next time their buddy goes down. The second is the weapon talent glitch which allowed players to stack the talent bonuses of their weapons by switching between them rapidly.
Sadly, the biggest exploit, with which players can grab tons of loot in the recently released Falcom Lost Incursion without having to face off with the boss, has not yet been addressed. Ubisoft is currently exploring ways to punish players who are regularly abusing this issue for their own gains.

The Votes Are In: These Are Black Ops 3’s Best Weapons
Last week IGN asked the Black Ops III community to sound off game's best multiplayer guns in every major category. More than 45,000 of you answered, and while some of your responses aren't exactly surprising (ya'll really really like the Kuda), other results were a little more... unconventional.
These are Black Ops 3's best multiplayer weapons, as determined by your votes.

Gravity Director Helping on Serkis’ Jungle Book
In the wake of Warner Bros.' Jungle Book: Origins being delayed to 2018, Gravity director Alfonso Cuaron has stepped in to lend a helping hand on Andy Serkis' upcoming movie.
According to Deadline, Cuaron is in no way taking over the project, as production is already complete. Instead, the filmmaker -- described as a "friend to the studio" -- will offer feedback on potential ways to improve Jungle Book: Origins "in an uncredited capacity," now that Serkis has an extra year to work on the movie before its release.
Syfy’s Superman Prequel Show Krypton Nears Pilot Order
Syfy is close to securing a deal on a pilot order for David S. Goyer's Superman prequel series, Krypton.
Krypton will center on Superman's grandfather as he fights for the "shamed and ostracized" House of El. According to Variety, the series will be set two generations before Superman's home planet was destroyed.
Goyer—who was behind the screenplays for Batman Begins, Man of Steel, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice screenplays—will pen the script, as well as serve as executive producer. Sleepy Hollow writer Damian Kindler is also set to executive produce. Colm McCarthy will direct the project.
MTV Leaning Back into Music-Based Programming
MTV is looking to put music back into its television lineup. Headed by new network president Sean Atkins, MTV (which formerly stopped standing for Music Television a few years back) is turning to new music-based shows to boost its ratings.
Three new shows are currently in the works, including a new version of the network's classic show Unplugged, a hip-hop music competition show produced by Mark Burnett (Survivor, The Voice), and "an L.A.-set live-music series" called Wonderland.

"The thing that kept coming back when I first started this job was, 'Why doesn't MTV do more music?" Atkins told LA Times. "Music is our muse, our spirit animal. And it's a great muse to have. So we're leaning into it."
