Next Apple Watch May Have Cellular Connectivity, Faster Processor
Apple could be beefing up its next-generation Apple Watch.
Sources familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal that Apple is adding cell-network connectivity and a faster processor to its next-generation Apple Watch. The WSJ says Apple sold twice as many Apple Watches versus the first iPhone in the device’s debut year. A spokesperson for Apple declined to comment on this story.
At the last Apple event in May, the company cut the price of the Apple Watch to $299 USD (down from the launch price of $349 USD) and announced new nylon bands for its smartwatch.
Force Awakens’ Daisy Ridley Shows Off Martial Arts Skill
Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley is practicing her Chinese martial arts with "Wushu fricking master" and stunt performer Liang Yang—perhaps for her role as Rey in Star Wars: Episode VIII.
In a video posted to Instagram, Ridley is seen swinging around a staff before jump kicking Yang to the ground. It's unclear whether or not the stunt training is explicitly for her role as Rey, though it's likely to have some influence on her role.
Yang—Ridley's teacher and Instagram videographer—is the actor who played baton-wielding FN-2199, also known as TR-8R, in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. "I always try to get

Doctor Strange Writer on Ancient One Race Change
Doctor Strange screenwriter C. Robert Cargill recently addressed why the character known as the Ancient One isn't depicted as Tibetan in the upcoming Marvel film.
Cargill calls the original version of the comic-book character a "racist stereotype," while also adding that the decision to make the change was made in order to avoid alienating China's massive market.
"The Ancient One was a racist stereotype who comes from a region of the world that is in a very weird political place," Cargill told Double Toasted (via Heroic Hollywood). "He originates from Tibet, so if you acknowledge that Tibet is a place and that he’s Tibetan, you risk alienating one billion people who think that that’s bulls**t and risk the Chinese government going, 'Hey, you know one of the biggest film-watching countries in the world? We're not going to show your movie because you decided to get political.'"
Goosebumps 2 in Development
A sequel to last year's Goosebumps movie is moving forward at Sony Pictures.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Rob Letterman and writer Darren Lemke are closing a deal with the studio to return. Additionally, Neal H. Moritz and Deborah Forte will be back as producers.
Goosebumps is based on R.L. Stine's popular series of spooky novels of the same name. Jack Black starred as Stine in the first film, and THR says "the goal" is to get him back to reprise his role as the beloved author in Goosebumps 2.
Sony's Goosebumps adaptation had a solid debut at the box office last October, earning $23.5 million during its opening weekend. For our thoughts on the first film, check out IGN's Goosebumps review.
Princes William and Harry Cameo in Star Wars: Episode 8
Prince Harry and Prince William’s visit to the Star Wars: Episode VIII set last week was for more than just a tour. The two will reportedly appear in the film as Stormtroopers.
According to The Mail, the pair recorded a scene at Pinewood Studios with their faces concealed beneath Stormtrooper helmets.
"The Princes dressed up in full Stormtrooper gear and filmed a scene in which Rey and Finn infiltrate a secret base," an inside source told the outlet. "The rebel characters are in a lift with Benicia del Toro’s character when a group of Stormtroopers enter – two of whom are William and Harry."
Gordon’s Part Will Be ‘Small’ in Justice League
J.K. Simmons—who played J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films—will be playing Commissioner Gordon in the Justice League films, though the actor says his role in the first movie will be "very small." "Honestly, I don't get started on that until June, and my part in the first one is very small," the actor told DP/30 in a recent interview (as reported by Coming Soon). "I'm excited to be playing that iconic character in that iconic series."
Simmons has a couple more movies lined up before he joins Justice League, so he's got some time before he'll start worrying about how he "can honor that character and that franchise." While he hasn't begun filming just yet, Simmons hopes to be involved in the franchise in the future. "I'm going into a thing that hopefully will be two, three, four... maybe more movies for me," he said.
