Red Dead Redemption to Become Backward Compatible on Xbox One This Friday
Rockstar Games has announced that Red Dead Redemption will become officially backward compatible on the Xbox One this Friday, July 8.
Xbox 360 Red Dead owners will be able to play the game on Xbox One no matter the version of the game they owned — the original Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare, or the Game of the Year edition — while those who didn't can purchase the game on Xbox One beginning Friday.
The 2010 game was leaked as a possible backward compatible title earlier this year. Access to the game was later removed, however, with Larry Hyrb noting that the game was made available for a brief window due to a testing error.
Wrestling Wrap Up: A Food Fight Steals the Show on RAW
Uuuggghhhhhhh. Holiday RAWs are the woooooorst.
It's bad enough that RAW hasn't been all that strong these days during regular operational hours, but to then get a throwaway "RAW Like Nobody's Watching" July 4th episode, where a wonky Team USA vs. Team World match main events while an actual WWE Champion vs. IC Champion match gets stuffed into the gooey center, really feels like sriracha on an open sore.
And OF COURSE THERE WAS A FOOD FIGHT TOO. GLORY BE.
The Warriors Hulu Series Coming From Civil War Directors
Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War, will be adapting cult-classic gang film The Warriors as an hourlong television drama series for Hulu.
For Paramount TV and Hulu, the brothers will honor the 1979 film — which was, itself, an adaptation of Sol Yurick's novel of the same name — "while adding
own unique brand of grit, pulp, sex, and violence," according to Deadline. Writer Frank Baldwin will work with the Russo brothers on the script. No director has been named.

Microsoft Adding Wheelchair Option for Xbox Avatars
Microsoft will add a wheelchair option for its Xbox avatars, Xbox head Phil Spencer announced over the weekend.
Responding to a fan on Twitter, Spencer wrote that no petition was needed to persuade Microsoft to add a wheelchair option for avatars — it's something the team is already working on, and the feature is "not far off." Today, platform head Mike Ybarra chimed in with a preview.

PES 2017 Release Date Announced
Like more or less every annual football game ever released, Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 will be released in September - September 13 in the North America and September 15 in the UK, to be exact.
The game will be available for a recommended price of $59.99 USD on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, or $39.99 USD for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
Konami's press release states that "pre-order details have also been tentatively announced, where users can receive many bonus items for myClub, the number one mode in PES." Sadly it offers nothing more than that.
Your humble news writer here played an early version of the game recently, and found it to be very familiar, and very good.
J.K. Rowling’s Already Written a Fantastic Beasts Sequel
J.K. Rowling has apparently already written a sequel to this year's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and has ideas for a third.
According to the first film's director, David Yates, somewhere - probably in a locked golden trunk, or an owl's stomach, or a laptop - the script for the second in Rowling's new filmic trilogy already exists.
"We've done the first one," Yates told Reuters, "she's written the second one, she's got ideas for the third one."
We already knew that Fantastic Beasts would be part of a trilogy, but it seems Rowling is getting her work in early for the sequels due to arrive in 2018 and 2020.
The Original Lois Lane, Noel Neill Has Died
Actress Noel Neill - the first actress to play Superman stalwart Lois Lane onscreen - has died at 95 after a long illness.
The news was announced by her manager, Larry Ward on Facebook. He said, "Noel truly was Lois Lane, and for many of us, she was the first working woman seen on television. Few of her fans actually knew her real name, almost always simply calling her "Lois" to which she would unfailing answer with a bright smile and a kind word. It was more than a role to her."
The DC Comics Twitter account said since said she was "brave, smart, and witty. She embodied the very best qualities of Lois Lane."
Thor: Ragnarok Starts Filming

The first day—July 4—was "pretty sweet," according to Waititi. He tweeted the photo below, showing off the set chairs for much of the production staff.

The tweet came as a response to Ant-Man director Peyton Reed congratulating Waititi on a successful first day. "Taika, remember: explosions!" the Ant-Man director added.
