More Devs on Cyberpunk 2077 Than ‘The Witcher 3 in its Most Intensive Month’

A lot of people are working on CD Projekt Red's upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, according to responses to questions from investors.

A translation from one question about the size of the team working on the game was translated on Neogaf (thanks Gamespot).

"There are currently more game developers working on Cyberpunk 2077 than on The Witcher 3 in its most intensive month," says the translation.

CD Projekt recently said it has over 100 people working on standalone card game Gwent, but this recent response is unclear about whether there is any developer crossover between games.

We Finally Know When the Battlefield 1 Beta Will End

The Battlefield 1 Open Beta will end on Thursday, September 8.

EA made the announcement on Twitter, alongside an announcement of a patch for the ongoing free game test.

The patch disables time limits in the beta's Sinai Desert Conquest mode, meaning games will now run indefinitely until one team reaches the full 250 points limit.

Finally, EA also announced that the beta would begin "simulating extreme launch situations" to test the game's servers, which may result in downtime. It's not clear whether this stress test will run for the duration of the beta - we've contacted EA for comment on that.

Mario Party: Star Rush Still Lets You Sabotage Your Friends

I’m just going to come out and say it: I’m not very good at Mario Party minigames. I’m never the fastest button masher, I’m awful at rhythm games, and my pattern recognition skills leave something to be desired. But despite my many shortcomings, Mario Party still gives me a chance to win…as long as I’m willing to screw over my friends.

In a PAX demo of Mario Party: Star Rush, I wasn’t doing very well. I lost an early lead in our first mini game and came in dead last in the second. But then I got my first Kamek item, and that’s when my luck began to change.

Mario Party: Star Rush is coming exclusively to 3DS, and Nintendo was smart to recognize the way people play a game like this on a handheld. Since you won’t be gathered around a TV with all the time in the world, minigames need to be fast in case the game is happening on, say, a bus or a train about to reach its stop. In order to move things along more quickly, Star Rush introduces Toad Scramble, which still has players moving across a game board but makes turns simultaneous instead of making other players wait for their opponents to take a turn.

The Top 10 Classic Star Trek Episodes

It's Star Trek's 50th anniversary, which is funny in way because it's hard for many of us to think about a time when there wasn't such a thing as Trek. Gene Roddenberry's iconic 1960s series gave us a number of incredibly memorable characters and performances, led by William Shatner as Kirk, Leonard Nimoy as Spock and DeForest Kelley as Bones, while also inadvertently launching what would become one of the biggest franchises in history.

Of course, Star Trek has been and ever shall be about much more than just its beloved characters. There's also its thematic exploration of topical issues and problems facing humankind in the here and now, its application of real scientific theories extrapolated into very cool (and possible) future tech like warp drive, transporters, and more, and of course its optimistic view of humanity's future that reassures us that, yes, it's all gonna work out.

Halo 5: Forge Getting a Custom Game Browser

Halo 5: Forge is coming to PC this week, and the game will be getting a custom game browser on both Xbox One and PC.

Halo franchise development director Frank O'Connor took to Neogaf (thanks PCGamesN) to say "once the custom game browser is available I think the community might get crazy legit."

He also noted in a separate comment the browser won't be available on the September 8 launch day, but it is coming.

343 Studios' Josh Holmes also confirmed its existence on Neogaf, saying "it's a new feature that will provide similar functionality to a custom game browser, extending the existing file browser."

Pokemon Sun and Moon Demo Seemingly On the Way

The Korean game ratings board appears to have revealed an incoming demo for Pokemon Sun and Moon.

No mention was made about a demo in last week's Nintendo Direct, but a rating was granted the day it after it aired.

Titled (as per Google Translate) "Sun Moon, Pokemon Special Trial", the rating board listing reveals nothing about the trial's content or release date.

There's also no evidence that this will be a worldwide release, although it seems unlikely that Nintendo would make this a region-specific affair.

Craig Reportedly Offered $150m for 2 More Bond Films

Sony has offered Daniel Craig even more money to stay on as James Bond for two more films.

Back in May, Craig reportedly turned down nearly $100 million to play Bond twice more. Now, according to Radar, Sony has upped that value to $150 million.

A source told Radar "the studio is desperate to secure the actor’s services while they phase in a younger long-term successor."

Daniel Craig said last year he'd "rather slash my wrists" than play Bond again, but Radar's source says Craig has "played a genius hand."
