New Xbox Live Features Start Rolling Out Today
Microsoft announced a handful of new features coming to the Xbox Live Preview program on Xbox One and Windows 10 today. Xbox Live's Larry Hyrb detailed the update on his blog on Monday, with a special focus on the new Arena system. The eSports-centric program will allow players of almost any ability to compete in online tournaments.
Killer Instinct is the first title on Xbox Live Arena.
While Arena is still in Preview, participants in Xbox Live's limited program can compete in daily Killer Instinct practice tournaments. At rollout, the tournaments will only be available in the U.S., but Microsoft plans to scale up the Arena system to Preview members in other regions in October. The Arena update was first announced by Microsoft earlier this year at E3.
Ben Affleck Confirms Solo Batman Movie Title
Ben Affleck has revealed the title for his upcoming solo Batman movie. Or, at least, its title for now.
As spotted by The Hollywood Reporter writes, during his interview with the Associated Press about The Accountant, Affleck confirmed he plans on calling his movie simply, The Batman.
"At least, that's what we're going with now," Affleck said after revealing the title. "I might change it," he added.
"We're working on the script, the script is going well. I'm really excited about it," Affleck continued, refraining from offering more details. The Batman is also the title of one of the dark knight's various animated series.
More Games Should Take Mafia 3-Style Risks
From its very first trailer, I knew Mafia 3 was a game I had to keep on my radar. Not even because it’s the latest in the renowned Mafia series, though that definitely plays a role — the main reason I became enthralled with the direction of Hangar 13’s open-world, action-adventure is its reimagined vision of 1968 New Orleans, and all the very real human elements that could accompany it.
I want more games set in real places, or at least fictionalized versions of real places. Games set in fantasy worlds aren’t inferior by any means — Dark Souls is among my favorite games — but for a medium that’s several decades old, video games often seem unusually afraid of reality.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Requires Infinite Warfare Disc to Play
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will not be playable without the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare disc inserted into your console according to Activision.
Alongside a new FAQ posted to the official Call of Duty website for Modern Warfare Remastered, a blurb on the website reads: "Modern Warfare Remastered is a full game download (game disc must be inserted to play Modern Warfare Remastered)."
The website does not detail how PS4 players who have purchased the Legacy or Legacy Pro physical editions of Infinite Warfare will access Modern Warfare Remastered early, as players on that console are supposed to be able to play the downloadable game's campaign 30 days ahead of release, starting October 5. IGN has reached out for further comment on what this means for those PS4 players and will update this post when they respond.

The new series will be written by Steve Orlando (Supergirl) and drawn by Ivan Reis (Blackest Night). The book will feature a diverse lineup of heroes, with DC promising that, "This is a Justice League that looks like America, that proves Heroism can look like ANYTHING and ANYONE."
To celebrate this launch, DC will also be releasing a series of four one-shot comics in January that will spotlight individual members of the new JLA. Scroll down to find out which DC heroes will be serving on this new team and which creators will be tackling these one-shots. We'll keep updating this article as more reveals are made.
A Pokemon Go TV Set Tour
Set visits sound like one of the most glamorous things you can do as an entertainment reporter. You get to interview the people starring in and making a TV show or movie, visit the locations that play a key role in that finished product and see that the saying "it takes a village" actually is pretty accurate when you meet the many, many, many people responsible for making that project become a reality.
But as incredible as set visits are, they also tend to be very long days. Oftentimes you're visiting a working production, which means actors are busy filming and directors are busy directing, and can only come talk when scenes are being reset or when they wrap for a day. That means there's often a lot of downtime -- which could be spent reflecting on what you're observing, but I decided to mix things up a bit on my recent trip to Vancouver.
