3 Possibilities for Pokemon Go’s Next Update
After a leak from Starbucks of all places, developer Niantic has confirmed that new Pokemon are coming to Pokemon Go soon. It will reveal details on December 12, so in the meantime… what could Niantic mean by “more Pokemon"?
We know that Sprint has formed a partnership with Niantic, which will add thousands of new gyms across the world, and for the uninitiated, Pokemon Go’s roster currently consists of 146 of the original 151 Pokemon. What comes next depends on how big the update is.
Homeland Star May Be Ocean’s Eight Villain
Ocean's Eight, the all-female Ocean's Eleven spinoff, has reportedly found its main villain.
According to Variety, Homeland star Damian Lewis, who played Nicholas Brody on the show, is close to finalizing a deal to join the cast of Ocean's Eight, and will play the main baddie in the film. Lewis had been spotted on set recently, and it now seems his role in the movie is indeed much more than just a small cameo, Variety reports.
Ocean's Eight was first announced last year, and has Sandra Bullock starring as the film's main character, the leader of of a group of thieves planning to pull off a major heist. Lewis will play Bullock's ex-lover, and the man the thieves are planning to rob.
Dragon Ball Super English Dub to Premiere on Toonami
Toei Animation, Funimation, and Adult Swim have announced that the Dragon Ball Super English dub will air as part of Adult Swim's Toonami lineup beginning next year.
Dragon Ball Super season 1 will premiere on Adult Swim on January 7, 2017 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. pT/1 a.m. GMT/11 a.m. AEST and 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT/4:30 a.m. GMT/2 p.m. AEST.
The first season's 26 episodes are set to air during the Toonami block in the coming weeks and months. Check out an exclusive new clip from the English dub of episode 1 below:
Toonami will also air Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters, which focuses on the Buu Saga, will also on January 7 at 12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT following the second airing of Super that night. A new Dragon Ball Super website has also launched, which will include exclusive content, video, character information, and more of the latest news about the series. Previous Dragon Ball series Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT all aired on Cartoon Network's Toonami block throughout the late 1990's and early 2000's.
Amazon Developing an Animated Movie
Amazon Studios is reportedly developing an animated movie about pop culture icon, Emily the Strange.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dark Horse Entertainment is negotiating a deal with Amazon to produce the film. Once the deal is finalized, Emily the Strange creator Rob Reger will act as a producer, along with Dark Horse's Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg.
Reger, a skateboarder who designed a variety of T-Shirts and skateboards, came up with the idea and design of Emily the Strange in the early 1990s. The character quickly took off, creating a multimillion-dollar business made up of comics, toys, fashion, and school supplies.
Batman: The Telltale Series Episode 5 Release Date Announced
The season finale of Batman: The Telltale Series will release on December 13, Telltale Games announced today.
Episode 5, titled "City of Light," will be available digitally worldwide for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and compatible iOS and Android devices.

In the season finale, the leader of the Children of Arkham prepares to carry out the final act of a plan to destroy the Wayne family name. The fate of the city and the Wayne family will depend on the choices you make, according to Telltale.
In addition, City of Light will begin in "very different places" depending on the decisions you made in Episode 4: Guardian of Gotham.
Rocket and Groot Star in New Animated Short
Marvel and Funko have teamed up for a new series of animated shorts and IGN has the exclusive debut of the second, featuring Rocket Raccoon and Groot.
"Bait N Switch" focuses on Rocket’s attempt to rescue Groot from the clutches of the Collector. You can check out the short below!
The Marvel Funko shorts include story and animation by A Large Evil Corporation and were executive produced by Brian Mariotti, Dan Buckley, Cort Lane, Joe Quesada, and Alan Fine.
The first short, “Spellbound,” in which Spider-Man and Iron Man fought Loki, is available now on Marvel’s YouTube channel.The third Marvel Funko animated short, “Chimichangas,” will premiere on 12/14 on Marvel’s YouTube channel and features Deadpool facing off against Venom.
Sprint and Niantic Announce New Pokemon Go Partnership
Mobile provider Sprint and Pokemon Go developer Niantic announced a new partnership that turns every Sprint store into Pokestops and Pokemon Gyms.
The new change affects the 10,500 Sprint, Boost Mobile, and Sprint Radio Shack locations. On top of being Gyms and Stops, Sprint locations also allow players to recharge their phones, something Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure mentioned often during the announcement teleconference call.
Sprint also promises sweepstakes, competition, and special offers for Trainers. The new change begins on Monday.
The stores will be either Pokestops or Gyms. Sprint didn't give details as to what deciding factor designates one or the other.
Space Hulk: Deathwing Gets New Release Date
Space Hulk: Deathwing will launch first for PC on December 14.
The news comes following a beta last week which identified several issues. We’re told most issues have been addressed, and the team at Streum On is busy working on load time improvements, general performance optimisations, UI and menu elements, sound design changes including voice-over work, as well as bug fixes and crash-related issues.
The above improvements have shifted the game’s original release date of December 8 to the new date of December 14.
Space Hulk: Deathwing is a co-op FPS set within the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Players take up the role of a Space Marine Terminator before being thrown into a despairing battle against the Genestealers.
PlayStation 4 Hits 50 Million Units Sold
Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that the PlayStation 4 has now surpassed 50 million units sold as of December 6.
The company also stated it had the best Black Friday week in the history of PlayStation, and says "software sales also remain strong" with over 369.6 million games sold as of December 4.
The PS4 was first released in November 2013, and more recently, the PS4 Pro has become available. IGN's review of the updated, more powerful console says it "has a lot of potential, but needs more uniform support to truly shine."
PlayStation VR also released this year, bringing virtual reality games to the platform. IGN's review says "the technology is astonishing but still in its infancy."
