For Honor’s Single Player Requires an Internet Connection
A Ubisoft representative has reportedly confirmed to a user on Neogaf that the single player portion of For Honor will require an online connection to play.
NeoGAF user Gamezone has shared an image of a private message he received on the game's forums regarding rumors over For Honor's single player campaign.
"We can confirm that For Honor is an always online experience," replied UbiJurassic, who is listed as a Community Representative. "Some elements of progression, which is hosted online, are shared across story and multiplayer modes. Players will need to be connected to the Internet at all times to play For Honor."
Evolve Dev Announces Fantasy FPS for Free-to-Play Publisher
Turtle Rock Studios has announced it is developing a fantasy first-person shooter with publishing partner Perfect World Entertainment.
"We are developing a new franchise set in an all new universe that leverages the style of gameplay our community loves and expects from Turtle Rock Studios," said Phil Robb, co-founder of Turtle Rock to GamesIndustry.biz.
Steve Goldstein, president of the company, says "we are definitely going back to our moment-to-moment gameplay roots with a huge focus on co-op FPS." Turtle Rock's Left 4 Dead was a hugely popular game for the studio, however Goldstein says "it is not a zombie game or anything post-apocalyptic. What we can say right now is there's a strong dark fantasy element to it."
Underworld’s New Director Wants to Recapture Its Glory
The Underworld franchise is changing hands yet again in the upcoming installment Underworld: Blood Wars, with Outlander director Anna Foerster taking the reins. Her goal is to direct the film back towards what worked in 2003's Underworld, and admits she wasn't the biggest fan of the direction the series went in its most recent installment, 2012's Underworld: Awakening.
"The first one I saw it when it just came out. It was quite extraordinary, especially as a visual piece and creating a world that I have not seen before at that time. I mean, later a lot of people copied it in different way. I think at the time this was one of the movies that kind of set a specific standard for the genre and I was a big fan of the look and the vibe and the tone of it," Foerster said during a December 2015 visit to Blood Wars' Prague set. "I have to admit I wasn’t a big fan of

Following a recent delay, the date for the Banjo-Kazooie spiritual successor was set in a new trailer (below).
However, in an FAQ posted to the developer's site, Playtonic explains that it has "unfortunately encountered unforeseen technical issues that mean it will be impossible for us to release the game on Wii U as initially planned.
"We can however confirm the exciting news that we are now working very closely with Nintendo to look to bring Yooka-Laylee to the upcoming Nintendo Switch. We’re looking forward to exploring the opportunity and will have more details to share early next year."
Marco Polo Cancelled By Netflix
Netflix has cancelled Marco Polo after two seasons, making it the first Netflix original scripted series to not be renewed for a third season.
The decision to not renew Marco Polo was a mutual one between Netflix and producer The Weinstein Co., according to The Hollywood Reporter. Both seasons of the drama cost Netflix a combined $200 million.
"We want to thank and are grateful to our partners on Marco Polo," Netflix original content VP Cindy Holland said in a statement. "From the actors, whose performances were enthralling and top-notch; to the committed producers, including John Fusco, Dan Minahan, Patrick Macmanus, and their crew, who poured their hearts into the series; and of course Harvey, David, and our friends at TWC, who were great collaborators from start to finish."

Report: Porsche/EA Exclusivity Deal Is Over
It’s understood that, from around the turn of the century, the license to feature Porsches in video games has belonged exclusively to EA. Since 2000’s Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed (released as Need for Speed: Porsche 2000 in PAL territories) EA’s driving franchises were just about the only place you’d find Porsches (exceptions, like Microsoft’s Forza and PGR series, featured Porsches as the result of sub-licence granted via EA).
In news that ought to please racing fans that deal is reportedly set to expire at the end of the year. According to German website SpeedManiacs.com (and translated by GTPlanet) Porsche’s manager of branded entertainment Sebastian Hornung has confirmed that the license with EA “runs out this year, because together they arrived at the realisation that the current situation was not desirable anymore.”
