Tarantino’s New Film Isn’t Exactly a Manson Family Movie
Quentin Tarantino's next film isn't solely focused on the Manson murders, rather the time in which they took place.
"It's not Charles Manson, it's 1969," Tarantino said about the movie (via IndieWire). The writer-director's next project, supposedly the penultimate film in his storied career, will reportedly star Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie. Robbie is rumored to play Sharon Tate, the actress infamously killed by the Manson Family in August 1969.
Labyrinth Comic to Reveal the Goblin King’s Origins
Jim Henson's beloved 1986 fantasy film Labyrinth is getting a comic book adaptation.
Entertainment Weekly reports Boom! Studios imprint Archaia is publishing the first comic based on the movie. The series, which is simply titled Jim Henson's Labyrinth, hails from writer Simon Spurrier and artist Daniel Bayliss and will follow Jareth the Goblin King's childhood and origins. The character was played by the late David Bowie in the 1986 film.

Vive Focus Is HTC’s New Standalone VR Headset
Vive announced its new, standalone VR headset, the Vive Focus, but it looks like it's not coming West just yet.
The company's Chinese website has details on the device, described as the "most immersive VR experience" in the world. Currently there's only a link for developer's kits, and not a consumer-ready product.
The device uses the Snapdragon 835 chipset, a 10nm Samsung chip found in the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, among other phones.
It's completely wireless and comes with a small controller, something Vive says will "save the hassle of connecting to your phone or computer." Beyond processing power and its wirelessness, there isn't much else in the way of specifications on the site just yet, including a price-point.
GameStop Suspends Used Game Rental Service
GameStop's new used game rental service has been suspended.
The video game retailer provided IGN with the following statement:
We have elected to temporarily pause the roll out of the new PowerPass subscription service, based on a few program limitations we have identified. We feel this is the right thing to do for now to ensure we are able to provide our guests an exceptional service.
According to Kotaku, two GameStop employees told the outlet that the retailer has informed staff that all signs about the PowerPass program should be pulled down. Employees speculate the new rental service was suspended because the company's outdated computer system isn't capable of handling the new program.
Affleck Seeking ‘Graceful and Cool Way’ to Exit Batman Role
With Justice League opening in theaters this Friday and a possible trilogy of Batman films from director Matt Reeves on the horizon, Ben Affleck shed light on what the future holds for his role as the Dark Knight.
Speaking to USA Today, Affleck said Reeves' upcoming Batman movie is "something I'm contemplating."
The actor, who was originally on board to direct the Batman-focused DC film, went on to discuss his eventual departure from the role, saying, "You don't do it forever, so I want to find a graceful and cool way to segue out of it."

Mad Max: Fury Road Director Suing Warner Bros.
Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller is suing Warner Bros. for failing to pay him a multimillion-dollar bonus for his work on the film.
Sydney Morning Herald reports Miller is taking the studio to court in Australia, as Miller believes Warner Bros. was contracted to pay him a $7 million bonus if Fury Road came in at a final cost of less than $157 million.
Warner Bros. says the movie did go over budget, but Miller believes he is still entitled to that bonus because of decisions that forced substantial changes and delays, which ultimately put the film over budget. "We disagree and will vigorously defend against these claims," Warner Bros said in a statement to Deadline.

Total War Spin-Off, Thrones of Britannia Announced
SEGA has officially announced the first entry in its Total War spin-off series, which pits the Vikings against Great Britain.
The game, called A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia, is set in 878 AD when the Viking Invasion of Britain is over. However, the ambitious kings of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales have aspirations of their own, and declare war against the Norse warlords once again.

The game, along with every entry in SEGA's Total War spin-off series, won't be shorter or smaller than mainline Total War titles and are said to be similar in scope and focus to the Total War: Shogun 2 expansion Fall of the Samurai. SEGA promises that Thrones of Britannia will feature "the most detailed Total War campaign map ever made."
