Thor: Ragnarok’s Valkyrie Would Be Down to Star in Saga Movie

Thor: Ragnarok star Tessa Thompson would be down to portray another comic book character in a potential Saga film adaptation.

Thompson, who plays Valkyrie in the latest Thor movie, expressed her love on Twitter for the Image Comics series when a fan said she'll be great as one of Saga's main characters, Alana.

"Oh my," Thompson tweeted, replying to the fan. "I’m very obsessed with Saga. That would be so dreamy," Thompson then went on to share an image of Alana, indicating she'll love to someday portray the heroine.

Twitter Expands 280-Character Tweet to More Users

Twitter has extended its new, longer 280-character limit to more users and languages across the platform.

In a blog post, Twitter discussed the recent test allowing some users to have 280 character tweets over the original 140 and what this has meant for the platform.

The company says the data has indicated new character limits have made Twitter easier to use without having much of an effect on the overall brevity of most tweets. Because of this, the new changes are being rolled out to all languages who will benefit from the expanded characters.

Hearthstone: Kobolds & Catacombs Gameplay Impressions

The new Hearthstone expansion Kobolds and Catacombs will feature a new game mode called Dungeon Run, which was available to try out at BlizzCon 2017. Here’s what I thought.

Dungeon Run is a new, free-to-play mode where you select a class, receive a pre-made deck, and then battle your way through eight random bosses that ramp up in difficulty the further you progress. After each win, you are presented with your choice of a treasure (a powerful artifact that augments your gameplay and isn’t found in the regular game) and loot (a handful of synergized cards that are added to your deck) in order to boost your power and allow you customize your strategy.

It’s modeled after a “roguelike,” which is a term used to describe RPGs where you progress through randomized levels of a dungeon fighting monsters and collecting loot, with the catch that death is permanent, meaning if you die, you lose everything and you must start over from scratch.

Christopher Nolan Apologized to Netflix Chief Content Officer

Christopher Nolan has apologized to Netflix for his statement on their "mindless" release policy.

Nolan previously slammed Netflix over its policy on theatrical releases during a promotional circuit for Dunkirk, saying the company has "a bizarre aversion to supporting theatrical films."

Nolan still believes Netflix's decision to forgo theaters in favor of launching films directly to their streaming service is a mistake, but upon reflection, he told Variety, "I should have been more polite. I said what I believe, but I was undiplomatic in the way I expressed it."

GTA 5 Has Sold-In 85 Million Copies

Grand Theft Auto V has shipped 85 million copies, Take-Two announced today.

According to the publisher, citing The NPD Group during its latest earnings report, Grand Theft Auto V is now the U.S.'s best-selling video game ever in terms of units sold and revenue. NPD says this is based on physical and digital sales across all platforms.

Sold-in means copies sold to stores and not sold-through, which are copies bought by customers.

Take-Two last reported Grand Theft Auto V sold-in 75 million copies, meaning it has shipped an additional 10 million units since February. Despite initially being released over four years ago, Rockstar's hit open-world game continues to appear on NPD's monthly list of best-selling games in the US, most recently charting seventh in September.

Justice League’s Budget Reportedly Revealed

Thanks to a switch in directors and substantial reshoots, the reported production budget for Justice League has climbed to nearly $300 million.

This report comes by way of The Wall Street Journal, who cites "people close to the picture." While the DC superhero ensemble film was originally positioned as the financial linchpin for Warner Bros. in 2017, the success of Wonder Woman and Stephen King's IT has lessened its importance in that regard.

Director Zack Snyder stepped away from the film earlier this year due to a family tragedy, handing the reigns over to Joss Whedon, who handled the reshoots. Meanwhile, Henry Cavill had to have his mustache digitally removed for the reshoots (thanks to his role in Mission: Impossible 6), which undoubtedly contributed to the rise in Justice League's production costs.
