Netflix Renews Chilling Adventures of Sabrina for 16 More Episodes
Netflix has conjured up 16 new episodes of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which will air in two parts, similar to how Netflix split the show's initial 20 episode order. Instead of differentiating the episodes as "Season 3" and "Season 4," "Part 3" and "Part 4" will begin production in 2019. The show's previously announced "Part 2" will premiere on April 5, 2019.
In a statement, creator and executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said of the news: “Praise Satan! I’m so grateful to my partners at Warner Brothers, Netflix, Berlanti Television, and Archie Productions for supporting this darker vision of the world’s most famous teen witch. And I’m thrilled to be continuing to tell Sabrina's chilling adventures with our incredible cast and crew, led by the unstoppable Kiernan Shipka.”
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Sold Over 3 Million Units in 11 Days
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has, in the U.S., sold over 3 million units since it launched on December 7 and the Nintendo Switch has officially become the fastest-selling console of this current generation through 21 months.
According to Nintendo's internal sales data and The NPD Group, these milestones point to the continued success of the Nintendo Switch in the U.S., which now has over 8.7 million units sold since its launch in March of 2017.
Through November of this year, Nintendo has also been the overall top-selling software publisher in the U.S., an accomplishment that doesn't even take into consideration Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
While Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was already crowned the best pre-selling Smash Bros. and Nintendo Switch title, it has now become the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch and Smash Bros. game of all time.

Update: Carlton Dance Cannot Be Copyrighted Amidst Fortnite Lawsuit
Update 2/15: Fresh Prince of Bel Air star Alfonso Ribeiro'a lawsuit against Fortnite for the inclusion of the famous "Carlton Dance" in the battle royale game has hit a major snag, as the U.S. Copyright Office has called into question his attempts to copyright the dance.
In a letter posted by The Hollywood Reporter, Saskia Florence of the Copyright Office's Arts Division, said Ribeiro's copyright request should be refused on the basis of the dance being "a simple dance routine."
"The combination of these three dance steps is a simple routine that is not registrable as a choreographic work," the letter readers after laying out the specific movements. Florence then follows up this description by refusing the registration claim.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Opens With Solid $35 Million Opening Weekend
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse earned $35.4 million its opening weekend in the domestic box office.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Spider-Verse grossed $21 million overseas across 44 markets, netting it a $56.4 million global opening weekend. Its most successful overseas market was South Korea, where it earned $3.3 million, and the UK followed at $2.9 million. This runs against the film’s reported $90 million budget.
Coming in second over the weekend is Clint Eastwood’s The Mule at $17.2 million, which he stars in, produced and directed. Over half of The Mule’s audience has reportedly been over 50 years old, and the film’s budget reportedly sits at $50 million.
Sony May Have Revealed How Many People Have Played PS4’s Biggest Games
With the launch of My PS4 Life from Sony, people have been reverse engineering player counts and percentages to calculate the total number of players for each PS4 game available.
Reddit user Gamstat revealed the simple math involved to get the estimates and the difficulty in finding an accurate number.
Gamstat pointed out that My PS4 Life videos – which show personalized highlights for users of their in-game trophies – discloses the exact number of players who receive said trophy.
That number, combined with the percentage of people who obtained the trophy (shown on the PlayStation website) can give an estimation of the amount of people playing that specific game.
