I Want To Unsee The Last of Us Part 2’s New Trailer

To say The Last of Us is a great video game is a monumental understatement. Even if we're not talking about the remarkable world building, stellar sound design, or breath-taking environments, it's proof that video games are a viable way to tell a story with emotional weight, and I have no doubt that Naughty Dog is making something equally moving with The Last of Us Part 2.

That being said, the newest trailer, which debuted at Sony's Paris Games Week press conference on Monday, feels a little out of touch. In just under five minutes, the trailer (which you can watch below) shows disemboweled corpses hanging from a freeway sign, a hunting knife being dragged across a woman’s stomach, a different woman having her arm broken with a claw hammer (which subsequently winds up in not one but two characters’ faces, claw-end first) and plenty of choking, gunfire, and blood. Then the clickers come out, and it’s over - see it here:

PUBG Test Servers Delayed Because of ‘Unexpected Issue’

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' test servers, which were set to introduce vaulting and climbing, have been delayed following an "unexpected issue during internal testing."

"When the test servers are deployed, we will be running them for a long time and it's crucial that they operate in a stable environment," reads a post on the game's official Twitter account. "Therefore we feel that we have to delay the first test schedule for PC 1.0 to allow for a smooth testing of the new features and content."

In a subsequent tweet, developer PUBG Corp. said it's working to "resolve the issue quickly" and will announce new dates for the test servers once the issue is fixed. The test servers will initially scheduled to begin this week.

Super Mario Odyssey Is the Fastest-Selling Mario Game Ever in the US and Europe

Nintendo has announced that Super Mario Odyssey's success is continuing, as it becomes the fastest-selling Mario title ever in two major territories.

The US market accounts for 1.1 million copies alone, overtaking the launch sales of New Super Mario Bros. Wii. In Europe, the game eclipsed reigning champion Super Mario Galaxy 2's opening weekend sales, although no specific number was given.

It's not hugely surprising news - we already knew the game had sold over 2 million copies in just three days.

It's richly deserved - we awarded Odyssey a perfect 10 in our review, calling it a "generational masterpiece".

Call of Duty: WW2 Has a Nail-Biting Espionage Campaign Mission

If I had to describe Call of Duty: WW2’s single-player campaign in just one word, that word would be loud. Boasting some of the biggest and most deafening set pieces in a Call of Duty campaign to date, those who enjoy bombastic moments and hair-raising intensity should find themselves quite satisfied. And yet it wasn’t until the gunfire stopped and I was told I needed to stealthily infiltrate an enemy garrison disguised as a Nazi that I learned another kind of fear WW2 had to offer.

The mission itself is simple enough: Make contact with your associate and exchange briefcases. To get to him, you’ll have to talk your way through Nazi guards and officers, convincing them there’s nothing out of the ordinary. The entire sequence is action free, but one of the most edge-of-your-seat moments I’ve ever experienced in a Call of Duty campaign.

LA Noire is the Next Switch Game That Won’t Fit on its Hard Drive

The eShop version of LA Noire for the Nintendo Switch is too big to fit on the internal storage.

Developer Rockstar revealed the news via a post on its support page for LA Noire. The article goes into further detail about the storage requirements, which differ depending on what version of the game you choose to pick up.

If you decide on the physical cartridge version, expect a 14GB download before you can play which contains "required gameplay data" as well as "general bug fixes and improvements"

However, those who opt for a digital copy of LA Noire for their Nintendo Switch will have to purchase a microSD card which is sold separately to the console.

7 Crucial Things to Know About Pacific Rim: Uprising

On a boiling hot  Thursday in February, we took a bus out to Homebush, a sprawling suburb located about a 40 minutes drive out of the Sydney CBD on a good day. Pacific Rim: Uprising’s set here looked bare from a distance, bar the four 20-meter high bluescreens that will become the large submarine station that houses its Jaegers, the “Shatterdome”.

The set is a lot busier on closer look. Groups of military and scientists across multiple ethnicities stroll the same carefully choreographed route after every call of action. Trucks trundle across the tarmac, reverse, then do it again. Earth’s last line of defence has changed in the 10 years since the events of the first film, and Pan Pacific Defence Corps is now a humming homogeneous organisation, united across all countries in its efforts to defend humanity against the omnipresent threat of the Kaijus.
