Mockingjay Cast & Crew Bid Farewell to The Hunger Games
The odds were ever in Lionsgate's favor at San Diego Comic-Con this week, as the cast and crew of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 took to the stage in Hall H on Thursday -- but not before screening a brand new video teaser featuring Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) in a stark-red variant of her Mockingjay outfit, joined by a hall full of white-clad soldiers, ready to fight. (A complete drum line was also on hand in Hall H to queue up the footage.)
Joining the panel were stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Willow Shields, and director Francis Lawrence and producer Nina Jacobson -- plus, extra-special guest and moderator Conan O'Brien, "and I am not in the Hunger Games films!" the late-night host announced.
Skybound Editor Addresses Shocking Walking Dead Twist
Warning: this article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead #144!
The Walking Dead #144 delivered a huge shake-up to the book's status quo this week, and that twist was addressed in today's "Robert Kirkman's Skybound Comics" panel at SDCC. Unfortunately, Kirkman himself had to cancel plans to attend the convention, but Skybound editorial director Sean Mackiewicz was able to fill in.
First off, if you haven't read issue #144, it culminated with the deaths of several recurring characters in the comic. Recently Rick Grimes has been clashing with a villain named Alpha who leads a group of zombie-mimicking survivors called "Whisperers." Alpha believes there's no room left for civilization, and he highlighted that point by littering the border between Alexandria and the Whisperers' territory with dozens of severed heads. Among the heads were Rosita, Olivia and perhaps most distressing of all, Rick's long-time ally Ezekiel.
Netflix’s Pee-wee’s Big Holiday Gets Release Date
The third Pee-wee Herman movie, Pee-wee's Big Holiday, will be available to stream on Netflix beginning March of next year.
The Judd Apatow-produced film will mark the directorial debut for Inside Amy Schumer's John Lee and the return of Paul Reubens as Pee-wee Herman.
Pee-wee's Big Holiday began filming earlier this year. Reubens said he was "really ready for this to happen," telling Rolling Stone the project had been stalled for years.
Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos called the movie a "passion project" for both Reubens and Apatow, and said Netflix is "delighted by the opportunity to introduce such a beloved character to a new generation."
Gotham Actor Gives Joker Tease
The upcoming season of Gotham is going to dive into the origins of the Clown Prince of Crime.
Actor Cameron Monaghan posted an in-character mugshot on Instagram, in which he shows off the Joker's iconic wicked grin.
The Joker was originally spotted on the show in "The Blind Fortune Teller" episode, during which he makes an appearance as the troubled character Jerome. Doubt about whether or not this character was, in fact, the Joker were raised after the episode aired, but showrunners have since announced that his origins will be explored in Season 2, and Cameron's tease here makes it pretty clear what he's all about.

Katamari Creator Shows Off His Crazy New Game, Wattam
Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi is known for his lovably eccentric style, so it’s no surprise his latest project, Wattam, is vibrant, adorable, and more than a little bit strange. I suppose the elevator pitch would be: “Save the world by finding friends, holding hands, and making random objects dance and/or explode,” but I can’t imagine that makes much sense out of context. Suffice it to say, any cynicism that touches this game will immediately recoil in screeching terror as it melts into a bubbling black pool. It’s just that delightful.
For starters, Wattam’s art style is reminiscent of a children’s storybook. Every object has a face and a name and bursts with a wide-eyed enthusiasm generally reserved for newly adopted puppies. And mechanically, Wattam functions more like a playground than a game, providing you with a series of systems to explore rather than rigidly outlined objectives. Progress is made simply through experimentation and — in the truest sense of the word — play.
Black Ops 3’s Zombies Cast Revealed
At a packed panel at Comic-Con this year, Treyarch revealed new details and the celebrity cast for Call of Duty: Black Ops III's Zombies mode.
Treyarch director Jason Blundell and lead writer Craig Houston kicked things off by discussing the origins of Nazi zombies in the series. Jason joked “It’s a thing that shouldn’t be.” Started as an after-hours project at the studio, Zombies in Call of Duty grew out of the team’s extracurricular tinkering with the game while World at War was in development.
Leveraging the enthusiasm of the community and the legacy of zombies of Black Ops, the developers are making the story more overt in Black Ops III and revisiting Mob of the Dead. Set in the 1940s, Shadows of Evil is a heavy noir piece full of gangsters, dancers, and boxers fighting against hordes and hordes of undead.
Here’s What the Co-Creator of Korra Is Working on Next
Michael Dante DiMartino has lifted the lid on his next project, which follows his work on the popular Nickelodeon series The Legend of Korra.
It's a new book series called Geniuses, which, according to io9, "explores the concept of 'art as magic.'" The first installment in the series, titled The Creature and the Creator, is set to release in 2016. Here's a look at the one of the sketches that will be featured in the book.
