Star Wars: The Force Awakens Character Names Explained

Ever wonder how filmmakers come up with character names? Earlier this week, J.J. Abrams shared some unexpected insight into naming Adam Driver's character, Kylo Ren, in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Now, the director has revealed how he came up with some of the other new names joining the Star Wars universe.

For example, two of the main character's names, Finn (John Boyega) and Rey (Daisy Ridley), remain notably singular. This has led some fans to believe that we may already know their characters' last names (Skywalker? Solo?). While Abrams didn't confirm nor deny the speculation, he did note that leaving off Finn and Rey's last names was deliberate. "I will only say about that that it is completely intentional that their last names aren't public record," he said.

Eagle ‘Punches’ Drone Out of the Sky

A Wedge-Tailed Eagle took down a drone mid-flight in Australia earlier this week.

The camera perfectly captured footage of the bird with a 2-meter wingspan as it swooped in and attacked the drone.

The owner of the drone wrote this to accompany the video: "Eagle was fine - she was massive, and used talon's

to 'punch' the drone out of the sky. Hung around overhead so I got a really good look. Eagle's health was my main concern also."

There's a surprising lack of eagle related news on IGN, so check out some of our Total War: Warhammer coverage, which features the part-lion, part-eagle Demigryphs.
