Dungeon Defenders 2 Coming to PS4 Later This Month

Dungeon Defenders II is coming to the PlayStation 4 on September 29, 2015.

Featuring "classic role-playing elements like loot, levelling and pets", Dungeon Defenders II has been available in Early Access on Steam since last December. The action tower-defense game will initially release on the PS4 as a pre-alpha.

Unlike the PC version, the PS4 port will, naturally, feature controller support, and also have a two-player local co-op mode.

"But please note that Dungeon Defenders II is still under development!" says marketing director, Phillipe Asher, on the PS Blog. "During this time, some features, like local co-op and controller support, will be ahead of the PC version, but other features and content will be rolling in after they are released on PC."

The Final Episode of Life is Strange Gets a Release Date

The final episode of Life is Strange – Polarized – is expected to be released on October 20. That is, so long as the game is 100 percent ready by then.

In a blog post on the Square Enix website, Dontnod explained the slight caveat.

“We don’t normally announce a date until we know the game is 100% ready but in the spirit of Max’s birthday (today) we wanted to let you know early that we are aiming to release Episode 5 ‘Polarized’ October 20,” writes producer Luc Baghadoust.

Episodes 3 and 4 of Life is Strange were huge game-changers, and episode 5 has high expectations going into it. In our review of episode 4 we said “Dark Room is the most complicated, conflicting episode of Life Is Strange yet. It sets up a finale that could be a genuine stunner, but there’s a lot resting on its shoulders.”

Hyrule Warriors Won’t Have 3D on Older 3DS Models

Hyrule Warriors will not feature stereoscopic 3D if you’re playing on older 3DS systems.

That's according to an interview with 4Gamer – translated via PerfectlyNintendo. Producer Yosuke Hayashi explains the reasoning as to why 3D has been disabled on the older 3DS models. In the interview, Hayashi explains that in order to mimic the Wii U version in terms of how many enemies are on-screen at once, the 3D needed to be turned off permanently, presumably to free up as much CPU space as possible.

Star Wars Battlefront Will Have Dedicated Servers

Star Wars Battlefront will have dedicated servers.

Talking to PlayStation LifeStyle at TGS, senior producer Jamie Keen confirmed that while it was recently reported that the sci-fi shooter will not offer a server browser, there will, however, still be dedicated servers in order to provide an "unparalleled" online service.

"We’ll still have dedicated servers. Absolutely," said Keen. "It’s one of the hallmarks of making sure we deliver an unparalleled online

Former Writer Returns to BioWare Austin

Drew Karpyshyn has returned to BioWare Austin.

Via his blog, Karpyshyn explains he originally left BioWare to focus on his series of novels - titled Chaos Born - and now that the trilogy is completed, he’s come back to work on Star Wars The Old Republic (SWTOR).

“Working at BioWare was a challenging but very rewarding job, and it’s good to be back as part of the team,” writes Karpyshyn. “The thing I missed most about BioWare was the amazing people I got to work with, and luckily for me many of them are still there! I suspect a lot of folks are going to wonder if this means BioWare is about to announce a new project tied to my return. The short answer: no. I originally came to the Austin studio many years ago to work on SWTOR and – at least for now – that’s what I’m focusing on again.”
