The Division Beta Delayed, Xbox One Alpha Coming This Week

The beta for Tom Clancy's The Division will now take place in "early 2016" rather than this month.

This news comes via Ubisoft's blog, but it's not all bad news if you were planning on trying out The Division this year. If you've pre-ordered the Xbox One version, you will have priority access to a closed alpha that will take place between December 9 and 12.

If you're on the wait list for the alpha, you may be granted access "on an as needed basis." The size of the alpha client will be 23.2GB. If you've pre-ordered the game on PC, Xbox One, or PS4, then you will definitely get access to the closed beta when it eventually launches.

2 Problems Bond Needs to Resolve after SPECTRE

People have been telling James Bond he’s past his best for the last 20 years. I bet he’s sick of it.

"A sexist, misogynist dinosaur – a relic of the Cold War" is how M describes Bond at beginning of GoldenEye. And more recently, Skyfall and SPECTRE have continued to ponder the value of a man  with a gun in an age of technological warfare. You don’t have to dig all that deep to strike upon the subtext: just how relevant is 007 to the modern blockbuster?

Well, according to the box office, he’s never been more popular. Skyfall took over $1 billion at the global box office, while SPECTRE, despite its gargantuan budget of $245 million, is close to $800 million. But in the wake of SPECTRE – a film that’s divided critical and popular opinion – I’m more unsure than ever before where one of cinema’s longest-running series will go next.

Supergirl: It’s Time for Jimmy Olsen to Save the Day

While Supergirl is just a few weeks into her new life as a superhero, this Monday’s new episode, “Human for a Day", will find Kara facing a huge crisis when she loses her powers.

So what will happen when National City doesn’t have the Girl of Steel to count on, just as a major earthquake hits? Mehcad Brooks told us his character, “James ‘Jimmy’ Olsen," "Actually sort of steps fully into a different role, saving people and doing things that she usually does. He definitely is given the opportunity to step into a hero role.”

Brooks noted that this is one of those moments, “Where we find out if we’re as strong as we think we are and as brave as we think we are. Luckily, Jimmy really is. He's given the opportunity to define himself in that way. And it inspires him. It inspires him to step up.”

EA: Battlefront ‘May Not Have the Depth’ Hardcore Gamers Want

Electronic Arts' CFO Blake Jorgensen has acknowledged that Star Wars Battlefront "may not have the depth" experienced players want in the sci-fi shooter.

Talking at the Nasdaq Investor Conference in Europe, Jorgensen said that the game was intentionally designed to be accessible for those new to first-person shooter games, or kids wanting to play with their parents.

"Star Wars Battlefront is a first-person shooter, but it is

the only teen-rated first-person shooters," said Jorgensen. "We had designed it to be a much more accessible product to a wide age group.

"So, an 8-year-old could play with his father on the couch, as well as a teenager or 20-year-old could play the game and enjoy it. It is more accessible.
