Construction Begins on Star Wars Lands at Disney
Construction has begun on Disney's Star Wars-themed lands for both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
To celebrate the groundbreaking, Disney released a 360 degree photo from the 14-acre construction site at Disneyland.
It looks like Disney's construction team has some extra special help from some resourceful Star Wars friends. According to Disney, the Star Wars-themed lands will be the "largest-ever single-themed land expansions" at both resorts.
AMC Theatres Might Allow Phone Use in Sections
AMC Theatres is open to the idea of allowing smartphone use in certain sections or auditoriums to appeal to millennials.
While speaking with Variety, AMC Entertainment head Adam Aron discussed how the company can cater to younger demographics. "When you tell a 22-year-old to turn off the phone, don’t ruin the movie, they hear please cut off your left arm above the elbow," he said.
"... At the same time, though, we’re going to have to figure out a way to do it that doesn’t disturb today’s audiences."
As such, Aron said the company is looking at ways to allow smartphone use in AMC theaters. He said allowing certain sections to text is one possibility, but there is another stronger alternative.
Supergirl’s Digital Comic to Introduce New Villain
With Supergirl flying high on CBS in her first-ever TV show, DC Comics has followed up with a digital comic series by writer Sterling Gates and a rotating team of artists including Bengal, Emma Vieceli and Cat Staggs. The Adventures of Supergirl takes place in the same continuity as the show, telling stories of Kara Danvers saving National City from alien threats as Supergirl.
Gates is no stranger to writing Supergirl comics, so we hopped on the phone with him to talk about what’s changed from when he wrote her comic, how he’s telling stories relevant to today’s youth, and how the series went from digital to graphic novel, to digital to single issue.
Also, we have your first details on a brand new Supergirl villain that will debut in the comic.

Game of Thrones: The ‘Guillotine Swings Quite Heavily’ in Season 6
The night is dark and full of terror in the days leading up to the Game of Thrones: Season 6 premiere, especially as the series ventures off-book into territory not yet written by author George R.R. Martin. The cast and creators of the HBO drama are the keepers of this season's secrets, and according to star Liam Cunningham, Game of Thrones is going to be as bloodthirsty as ever.
To preview what's ahead in the new season, Cunningham got on the phone to discuss where his character Davos Seaworth stands now that his king is dead and the Night's Watch is without a leader. He promises that the "guillotine swings quite heavily" in Season 6, and that Game of Thrones will switch things up with the new year.
Top 25 Backward Compatible Xbox Games
Late last year, Microsoft began retrofitting select Xbox 360 games with backward compatibility on the Xbox One. We’ve hand-picked the 25 best backward compatible Xbox games you can buy and put together a ranked list for your consideration. Your selection committee is: Justin Davis (Executive Editor), Ryan McCaffrey (Executive Editor), Jared Petty (Senior Editor), Miranda Sanchez (Editor), and Mitch Dyer (Editor Emeritus).
Our criteria are as follows:
We’re looking for the best 25 games with a little extra weight for experiences that were especially exceptional on the Xbox 360. How much fun we had with the games is obviously our primary concern, but we also considered elements like staying power, influence, and innovation. This list consists only of games released for backward-compatibility on or before March 28, 2016, our story deadline. You can see a complete list of Xbox backward-compatible games here.
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Closed Beta Details Announced
The closed beta for Mirror's Edge Catalyst starts on April 22, and will include both solo and multiplayer content.
Including several main missions, side missions, optional content and the game's asynchonous multiplayer options, called Social Play, the beta will run for five days on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Registration for the beta has already closed, but those who signed up, are successfully chosen and signed up to EA's newsletter will receive codes via email on April 22. Those who are successful but did not sign up for the newsletter will receive them on April 23.
We were lucky enough to play several hours of the full version of the game - you can read our preview now.
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Isn’t an Open World – Nor Should It Be
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is a game of thumps and scuffs and clanks, of the sound of a guard’s mask cracking beneath an upswept knee, or the pliant *foof* of one of the springy crates scattered generously across the rooftops of its futuristic city for no real reason. But it’s also a game of silence. In those brief, breath-held moments as you make a speculative leap across seemingly impossible gaps, or the half-second between having run up a wall and you spinning back onto an enforcer’s softened skull.
Each sound (or the lack of one) is a marker of your actions in a game where every inch of the world is interactive in some way – something to run on, clamber up, bound over, or kick disablingly in the solar plexus. It’s a bewildering, and nearly transparent, achievement.
Fallout 4’s Chryslus Rocket ’69 Added to Forza 6 Today
The second Fallout 4 themed car has been added for Forza Motorsport 6 today.

The Next Splatoon Splatfest is Spongebob Squarepants Themed
Nintendo has announced that the next Splatoon Splatfest will ask players to decide which of two Spongebob Squarepants characters they like best. It's not entirely clear why.
Players will pick between Spongebob himself or his starfish sidekick, Patrick, after which the assigned sides will spend a weekend battling to determine which character is better. Or more well-loved? I'm not sure. Either way, one will win.
If you want to take part, the Splatfest takes place from April 23 at 6 am PT and runs until April 24 at 12 pm PT.
Choosing a side will net you an in-game Spongebob or Patrick T-shirt, which you can see below:
