Street Fighter 5 Misses Sales Target
Street Fighter V sold 1.4 million copies on PC and PlayStation 4 between launch and March 31.
In its recent financial report, Capcom said the latest installment in the Street Fighter series has "maintained steady sales," however it has missed its original sales target of 2 million by the end of the company's fiscal year.
There are a few possible reasons the game didn't sell as well as expected. IGN's review says it's a "first-rate competitive fighting game," but was missing too many features on release day.
Street Fighter V launched without a proper story mode. The mode is due for release in June, and will take around one to two hours to complete.
Battlefield 1 Devs Working to Prevent Battlefield 4-Style Launch Problems
Battlefield 1's developers have been working "for a long time" to ensure Battlefield 1's launch isn't a repeat of Battlefield 4's problematic release.
Speaking to GamesBeat, producer Daniel Berlin explained that avoiding the mistakes of Battlefield 4 is "a focus for us. We know it was a difficult launch. We’ve been working on this for a long time."
Battlefield 4's problems were myriad, mainly affecting the game's online component, forcing DICE to introduce better servers and even prompting class-action lawsuits.
Donkey Kong World Champ Achieves Perfect Score
Donkey Kong world record holder Wes Copeland has completed what many believe to be a perfect run.
In a three-and-a-half-hour stream on May 5, Copeland achieved the score of 1,218,000. The significance of this score is that it’s considered, at this point in time, to contain all the points available in Donkey Kong.
You see, upon completing Donkey Kong the player restarts from the first level. To outsiders, Donkey Kong appears like it could be played indefinitely, but this isn’t the case in the arcade version where eventually, due to a coding error, Mario/Jumpman reaches a kill screen where he dies after a few seconds.
According to Copeland, the only feasible way to best his latest high score is with a giant dollop of luck.
Capcom Teases Big Resident Evil Plans
Capcom's recent financial results include a mysterious reference to the company's plans for the Resident Evil series
Spotted by NeoGAF user Chobel, Capcom's most recent Investor reports tease at a "full-scale offensive" for the Resident Evil series, possibly indicating the release of at least one more Resident Evil game (besides the upcoming Umbrella Corps) before the end of the financial year on March 31 2017:
"In the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017, the Company is scheduled to release
Picking Sides in Total War: Warhammer
The races of Total War: Warhammer aren’t just four skins of the same basic faction with a few magicians and monsters thrown in for good measure. Instead, they represent meaningfully different choices that promote radically different play-styles for each of the key areas in the game.
This begs the question of how you choose which to play as and which might best suit your preferred approach to conquering the Old World, Badlands and beyond.
Having spent a decent amount of time tinkering with each race and seeing how their abilities and characteristics affect the long game, here’s a rundown of what you can expect each one to provide and to help factor it into your game plan.
The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine DLC Has An Official Date
UPDATE: CD Projekt Red have now confirmed that Blood and Wine will be released on May 30, with pre-orders open now.
“Blood and Wine makes The Witcher 3 complete -- it’s Geralt’s final mission, game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz said. "Containing more than 90 new quests, and over thirty hours of brand new adventures, it’s something that I think gamers will remember for a long time.”
Tomaszkiewicz added that Blood and Wine will include “a dynamic Point of Interest system, a new Gwent deck, new endgame mutation mechanics, and even a place Geralt can call home.... And it’s all happening in a new region as big as No Man’s Land in the base game.”
Forza Motorsport 6 NASCAR Expansion Leaked
It looks like Forza Motorsport 6 could be set to receive another expansion, if new images of what appears to be a download card for some unannounced Forza 6 DLC are to be believed.
Spotted on Reddit, the supposed card was snapped at a UK retailer. If the card is legitimate the pack will cost £15.99 in the UK.
The text on the back of the card claims the expansion will feature 24 cars from the 2016 NASCAR series, a new “NASCAR World Tour” career mode, new multiplayer events, and “new display elements for improved drafting and car spotting.”
It will apparently also include a new location – Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Carter on Future X-Files: “I Can’t Imagine There Wouldn’t Be More”
Spoilers for X-Files Season 10 ahead.
Although last season ended big cliffhanger, X-Files fans are currently in the dark regarding the roll-out of future episodes. What's going to happen to Mulder and Scully? Is humanity doomed? Are there probes on that UFO? IGN recently had the opportunity to chat Carter about the tonal evolution of his classic show, its legacy, and of course, his plans moving forward.
IGN: I'll start with the most obvious question first. Are there going to be more episodes?
Fox wants to do more. The ratings were good so there’s an appetite for more, I’m very pleased with the work that we did so I can’t imagine there wouldn’t be more.
Why That Game of Thrones Flashback Is Hugely Important
Full spoilers for Game of Thrones through "Oathbreaker" continue below. This article also discusses a major theory that could be considered a spoiler. Read on at your own risk.
History matters on Game of Thrones. The events that took place before Jon Arryn died, before Robert Baratheon asked Eddard Stark to be his Hand of the King and before any Starks left Winterfell cast a heavy shadow over this series. And in Sunday's episode of Game of Thrones, viewers finally got to witness one unfold.
In "Oathbreaker," the Three-Eyed Raven takes Bran Stark to a point in his father's history that he's heard a lot about. The young warg witnesses first-hand Ned Stark's fight with Ser Arthur Dayne in front of a location known as the Tower of Joy. Ned is there to rescue his sister Lyanna, who viewers met for the first time in Bran's flashbacks in last week's "Home." After Arthur Dayne is defeated, Ned hears a blood-curdling scream, but the Three-Eyed Raven doesn't allow Bran to follow and both he and the viewer don't get to see what happens next.

Maguire's caption on Instagram read: "Haha seriously, who made this? @tomholland2013 good job! You are great as Spider-Man. Keep it up!"
Captain America: Civil War had the fifth-biggest opening at the North American box office this weekend with an estimated $181.8 million.
