The Hot, Mad Love Between Harley and Joker
"Look, I'm seeing it through Harley's eyes, and I go, 'F**k, what's wrong with wanting to f**k the Joker?,'" said costume designer Kate Hawley during a press visit to the Toronto set of Suicide Squad last summer. "I think, why can't it be like that? It should be like that."
In order to bring these DC Comics icons to life in the upcoming film, Hawley and her fellow artisans explored what makes them tick, particularly the psychological and sexual elements of the mad love between the "amazing, charismatic" Joker (played by Jared Leto) and Squad member Harley Quinn (portrayed by Margot Robbie).
The David Ayer-directed movie includes flashbacks that chronicle how psychiatrist Dr. Harleen Quinzel fell for her Arkham Asylum patient, the Joker, culminating in her chemical bath transformation into his pale-skinned love interest and cohort-in-crime, a sequence Hawley dubbed Harley's "Chemical Wedding" to the Joker.
Just Cause 3 Dev Hires Multiplayer Mod Lead Developer
Just Cause 3 developer Avalanche Studios has hired the lead developer behind JC3-MP, a community-made multiplayer mod for the popular action game.
Cameron Foote — known as Trix to the Just Cause community — announced on the JC-MP forums that he'll join Avalanche Studios Sweden. "As part of Avalanche, I'll be able to bring many of the things you know and love from JC2-MP into future Avalanche experiences, while reaching heights that a mere mod couldn't facilitate," Foote wrote.
Because of the new position, Just Cause 3's multiplayer mod has been canceled. "Neither I or the rest of the team can actively pursue development on JC3-MP; our lives are just too busy to allow for it right now," he wrote.
Civil War II and DC Rebirth Drive June Comic Sales
Diamond Comics' sales figures for June 2016 are in, and it's clear that both Civil War II and the DC Rebirth relaunch are a hit with readers. Civil War II #1 was the best-selling comic of the month, with an estimated 381,737 copies sold. Batman #1 followed in second place, with an estimated 280,360 copies sold.
While both issues of Civil War II and Star Wars: Han Solo #1 placed in the top ten, DC dominated the top ten by claiming the other seven slots.

Mr. Robot Season 2 Premiere ‘Leaks’ Online for Limited Time
The network behind cyber drama Mr. Robot intentionally leaked part of its season 2 premiere on Twitter and Snapchat as part of a timed marketing ploy.
While the show won't air fully until July 13, USA Network tweeted a heads-up that fans could get an early glimpse of the show on July 11 at 8.30 p.m. ET. The first half of the two-episode premiere was available for a small window before being briefly broadcast again on Snapchat, YouTube, and USA's official website.
"Leak" seems like the wrong choice of word when the spilled beans are intentional, but the network is deliberately capitalizing on the show's cyber security theme for the marketing of this sneak peek.
Batman: Return to Arkham Reportedly Out in November
Warner Bros.' Batman: Return to Arkham won't be released until at least November, sources have said.
The remastered collection—which will contain Rocksteady Studios' Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City—was delayed indefinitely in late June. Batman: Return to Arkham was originally slated for release on July 31. Eurogamer has reported Batman: Return to Arkham still has months to go, and it's possible that the November target date could fall through as well.
Niantic Teases Trading, Leaderboards Coming to Pokemon Go
Niantic's CEO, John Hanke, has teased some of Pokemon Go's upcoming features.
According to Business Insider, Hanke says the ability to trade Pokemon is "kind of a core element," - adding that the app was designed with interactions between players in mind, meaning we could see this function sooner rather than later.
As for Pokestops and Gyms, players will one day be able to "customize their functions," but Hanke didn't go into what that could mean for the hubs that allow for battling and item-buying.
Business Insider also reports there will be a kind of global leadership scoreboard. In addition, Hanke suggests the game's augmented reality technology will be improved, saying the current version is a "great first step."
