Star Trek: 5 Settings We Want in the New Show

Starting next week, Star Trek is coming back in a big way, with not just the new movie Star Trek Beyond hitting theaters but also a large San Diego Comic-Con presence planned for the franchise as it celebrates its 50th anniversary. And then of course there’s also the brand new TV series that’s heading to CBS’ All Access streaming service at the start of 2017, to be led by Hannibal’s writer-producer Bryan Fuller. In fact, Fuller will be moderating a “Star Trek: Celebrating 50 Years” panel at SDCC which may or may not offer up some tidbits of information about the new show.

So far, we know almost nothing about Fuller’s program other than the fact that it will be the seventh series set in Gene Roddenberry’s universe, and the first to air since Enterprise ended over a decade ago in 2005. As for premise, story or characters, basically the only thing that’s certain is that it will be set… somewhere in outer space.

IGN’s Top 25 British Sitcoms

As we love comedy here at IGN, the London office thought it was about time we celebrated the ‘Best of British’ by ranking our favourite home-grown sitcoms of all-time. The criteria was wide-ranging and the debate heated as we cast our eyes over more than 60-years of TV comedy.

In the process the team pitted all-time classics against modern alternatives, family fare against shows that were shocking and revolutionary, and sophisticated comedies against the childish and deeply silly. But ultimately it came down to the question of whether or not the show really made us laugh, and the following 25 sitcoms very much did.

Secret Codes in Overwatch Trailer Hint at New Character

So the rumours were basically correct - the newest Overwatch character is a support sniper, and Pharah's mother. But one element is missing - she isn't called Sombra.

The name Sombra has been floating around the Overwatch community for some time - Reaper says the name in a voice line, and it's written on a file sitting in the Dorado map - and fans are convinced that it will be the name of an as-yet unrevealed character.

After Blizzard released the origins trailer for Ana, the Overwatch subreddit being what it is (obsessive and brilliant) quickly discovered two sets of seemingly coded information hidden in single frames during the video. Once decoded, two sets of letters stood out: "SOMB" and "RA".

Cheating at Pokemon Go Will Get You an Hour-Long Ban

Trying to fool Pokemon Go into thinking you're somewhere you not (known as GPS spoofing) appears to get you banned from the game for around an hour - and the way the game does this is kind of brilliant.

Some noble and not-so noble test subjects on Reddit report that, rather than simply locking you out of the game, Pokemon Go turns cheaters' worlds into cold and lonely places.

Pokestops won't sell you items, Gyms won't let you battle and wild Pokemon, perhaps sensing that their potential new master is purest evil, always run away from you.

Big Changes Coming for Overwatch’s D.Va, Zenyatta and More

Along with the reveal of new character, Ana, Blizzard has revealed a raft of tweaks for Overwatch's existing heroes.

Currently in the testing phase along with Ana on the PC version's Public Test Region servers, the tweaks have been revealed in some comprehensive patch notes.

The biggest changes come for mech-suited Korean StarCraft player, D.Va. Blizzard had previously said it would look to make her a more viable tank option, and that comes in two main forms.

Watch Samuel L Jackson Explain Game of Thrones

New to Game of Thrones? Not know your Tyrions from your Tyrells? Don't care about spoilers? Then sit back and let Samuel L Jackson attempt to make sense of the HBO blockbuster.

For some reason, HBO chose the venerable, foul-mouthed actor to recap the notoriously complex medieval fantasy epic, and we're very happy they did.

The video is below for your viewing pleasure. Oh, and if anyone has a rip of Jackson saying “F*ck those dragons,” be sure to let us know.

Last month IGN caught up with Game of Thrones director Mark Mylod to chat about episodes "The Broken Man" and "No One," We also asked if we’ll ever find out the punchline to Tyrion’s joke. Thar be spoilers in that link, obvs.
