Black Panther Begins Filming in January, Cast Details Revealed
Marvel Studios' standalone Black Panther will begin filming in January, according to an announcement made at the Marvel Studios panel today at San Diego Comic-Con 2016.
Ryan Penagos, VP of Marvel Digital Media confirmed as much on his Twitter account.

Debut Trailer for X-Men TV Show Legion Released
Marvel Television and FX Productions have released the first trailer for Legion.
The trailer for Fargo creator Noah Hawley's new X-Men series made its debut during a San Diego Comic-Con panel with Marvel CCO Joe Quesada.
Legion is set to premiere on FX in early 2017 and tells the story of a diagnosed schizophrenic named David Haller (Dan Stevens) whose psychological manifestations may be more than just figments of his imagination.
In addition to Stevens, Legion stars Rachel Keller, Jean Smart, Amber Midthunder, Katie Aselton and Jeremie Harris, as well as Bill Irwin and Aubrey Plaza. For more on Legion, find out what Hawley had to say about bringing the X-Men universe to TV.
First The Flash Season 3 Trailer Debuts
Dr. Alchemy will be one of The Flash's primary villains in season 3, the first trailer for the upcoming season reveals.
The footage, debuted during the show's San Diego Comic-Con panel, shows Barry dealing with the repercussions of his actions in the season 2 finale. Having completely altered the timeline, Barry returns to present day to find a completely different world than the one he left. Cisco is the richest man in America, Barry's parents are still happily married, and Iris has no idea who he is.
The trailer also teases one of the season's big bads, Dr. Alchemy. Another speedster can be glimpsed in the trailer, however, as can Kid Flash.
During IGN's San Diego Comic-Con livestream, The Flash star Grant Gustin revealed that the show's take on the comic book storyline Flashpoint won't likely last as long as many fans are expecting. Additionally, the Legends of Tomorrow panel revealed that villains from The Flash and Arrow will appear in the second season.
Inhumans vs. X-Men Coming This Winter
Fans have been speculating/worrying about the fate of the X-Men for months now. Today's Cup O'Joe panel at Comic-Con may not have done anything to alleviate anyone's long-term concerns, but we at least now know they'll be sticking around long enough to battle their supposed replacements, The Inhumans.
Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada was on-hand for the panel, along with Editor-in-chief Axel Alonso, VP of International Development C.B. Cebulski, Director of Content & Character Development Sana Amanat, and writers Jason Aaron, Kieron Gillen, and Nick Spencer. Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb was also present and kept pestering Quesada to let him announce "the thing", which turned out to be the teaser trailer for FX's upcoming mutant show Legion.
The Flash, Arrow Villains Will Form Legion of Doom on Legends of Tomorrow
During the Legends of Tomorrow panel at San Diego Comic-Con today, new heroes and villains were revealed for season two.
Familiar faces from The CW’s Arrow and Flash will make up the Legion of Doom, including John Barrowman as Malcolm Merlyn, Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold, Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk, and Matt Letscher as Reverse Flash, all reprising their respective roles.
Patrick J. Adams will return as Rex Tyler (Hourman), following his introduction in the season one finale. Hourman will be a part of the Justice Society of America, and other JSA members will include Obsidian, Stargirl and Dr. Mid-Nite, all of whom have yet to be cast.
Also at the panel, The CW confirmed that Stephen Amell will appear in the premiere of season two, once again playing Oliver Queen from Arrow, and that Jonah Hex will return this season.
Batman Writer Reveals When Joker Rebirth Story Will Continue
As the DC universe took its latest major turn with the launch of DC Rebirth, so too arrived a new revelation about the Joker's identity. And now fans will have an idea of when that thread, which has been left hanging, will be picked back up.
During IGN's San Diego Comic-Con livestream, Batman Rebirth writer Tom King revealed that he fully intends on picking up the plotline introduced by Geoff Johns about the Clown Prince of Crime.
New Star Trek Show Titled Star Trek Discovery
It’s the 50th anniversary of Star Trek this year, so a variety of Trek luminaries took to Hall H today at San Diego Comic-Con to celebrate the franchise’s long life.
William Shatner, Scott Bakula, Michael Dorn, Jeri Ryan, and Brent Spiner were joined by Bryan Fuller, executive producer and showrunner of the new Star Trek TV series, to celebrate Gene Roddenberry’s creation.
During the panel, Fuller was asked what to expect from his upcoming CBS All Access show, and while he wasn’t giving away many details, he did say that after the 700 or so episodes of Star Trek that already have been made, he is approaching the storytelling in a less episodic way.
"We’re telling stories in a a brand new way," he said. "We’re telling the story like a novel."
The Vampire Diaries Will End With Season 8
The Vampire Diaries is coming to a close, as The CW announced at San Diego Comic-Con that Season 8 of the supernatural drama will be the series' last.
Alongside the announcement, The CW released a farewell video that features several members of the cast and crew as they reflect on their time with the show.
The Vampire Diaries: Season 8 will span 16 episodes and premiere on Friday, October 21 at 9pm ET/PT. For more on what's headed to The CW later this year, check out the rest of the network's fall premiere lineup.
Aquaman Director Excited to Bring ‘Horror Element’ to Film
Warner Bros.' Aquaman movie is going to have a scary tone, according to director James Wan, who expressed his excitement in bringing his horror sensibilities to the film today at San Diego Comic-Con.
"I love the fact that
never really been portrayed in the feature movie world before," Wan said during the Warner Bros. SDCC panel, adding that he's excited to have "the opportunity to explore this universe and bring a bit of my horror element into this, the deep sea, the scary world, and then also explore the wondrous world of Atlantis."
Today brought with it plenty of other exciting content for DC fans, as Warner Bros. debuted the first trailers for Wonder Woman and Justice League, the latter of which you can check out below.
Flashpoint Will Have ‘Permanent Effects’ on The Flash
The Flash is set to tackle one of the character's biggest comic book stories in season 3, Flashpoint. And while the storyline looks to have major ramifications for the series, Flashpoint may not take up as much of the upcoming season as fans would think.
During IGN's San Diego Comic-Con livestream, The Flash star Grant Gustin addressed the impact of Flashpoint on the third season, noting that it won't completely destroy the character relationships fans have watched grow over the last two seasons.
